Fig. 3.

In the description, the term is defined "external" by which is turned outwardly of the protective device, that is to say opposite to the body part carrying the equipment, and term "internal" by which is turned towards the inside of the equipment, that is to say towards the body part carrying the equipment.

Referring to Fig. 1 describes a protective gear, visor moves 1 vest type for the police or security guards or other. In the following description, the protective equipment will simply be called "vest" 1.

The vest 1 is intended to cover at least the back and the abdomen and / or chest of the user, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2.

The vest 1 essentially comprises two end parts 2 and 4, a back portion 6 (Fig. 2), the front parts 2 and 4 being connected to the back portion 6 each by at least one side portion 8.

Each of the above mentioned parts comprises one or more protective panels, each panel being provided with at least one mattress elastically compressible material, for example a foam or an elastomer material, for example obtained by injection or molding. A rigid material plate is arranged in front of the mattress, outwardly of the jacket 1. The plate may be substantially planar or may be shaped to match the shape of the body part it covers, in order to be ergonomic and thus improve the comfort of the panel while facilitating the freedom of movement of the user . Such plate allows a good distribution of the power when a shock is applied thereto, and absorption of part of this energy absorption is then making the mattress. The mattress and the plate are for example coated fabric suited for the field of protective equipment. The production of such panels is known per se and will not be further described here.

Each protective panel, due to its structure, is able to absorb at least part of the energy due to shock, including damage from blows by a third party with bare hands or with objects or projectiles launched by a third, to protect the user wearing the equipment, while allowing it to move freely.

The interior of each panel or of some of them, may optionally be lined with one or more textile materials suitable for absorbing and / or the evacuation of sweat from the user, as shown by reference 10 Fig. 3, and ventilation of the jacket 1 to improve comfort, such as a textile material called "breathable".

With the exception of the end portions 2 and 4, which may be fixed together detachably, as will be described later, the parts are fixed together, eg by sewing.

The back portion 6 is intended to cover at least part of the back of the user, as shown in Fig. 2. Two side portions 8 are provided to cover the shoulders of the user and are each fastened to the back portion 6 and accordingly extend forwardly, that is to say towards the torso of the user . Two other lateral parts 9 are provided at the user and ribs are secured to the back portion 6 accordingly.

One of the front parts 2 is fixed to one of side portions 8 for covering the shoulders and the other end portion 4 is attached to the other side portion 8 intended to cover the shoulders. Two other lateral parts 9 are provided at the user's ribs and are each fixed to one of the end parts 2 and 4 respectively accordingly.

The side 9 fixed to the front 2 and 4 in the ribs parts parts are provided on their external face of hanging means 12, for example Velcro strip type while the lateral portions 9 attached to the back portion 6 to coastal level are provided on their inner surface of hooked additional means, for example of the Velcro strip. And the side portions 9 integral with the front parts 2 and 4 and the side portions 9 secured to the back portion 6 in ribs can be removably attached to each other for adjusting

the clamping of the jacket 1 around the body of the user, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2. The side portions 9 in the ribs are provided with tightening of the adjustment means of the vest around the user.

The front parts 2 and 4, the back portion 6 and the side parts 8 and 9 define between them a passage 14 for the arm of the user. That is to say that the jacket comprises an opening formed on each side between the two side portions 8 and 9, one overlying a shoulder and the other ribs, the back portion 6 and one of the end portions 2 and 4, as shown in Fig. 2.

The vest 1 further comprises protective covers a portion of the fixed arm 16, for example detachably, to the side portions 8 covering the shoulders. Each arm of the protection panel 16 thus extends over a passage 14 for the arm so as to cover a portion of the user's arm. The protective panels of the arms 16 are for example provided with straps 18, or other, allowing their attachment and clamping the arm of the user.

According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the side portions 8 and the shoulders protective panels of the arms 16 are reinforced by the shells 20 in rigid material, such as polycarbonate for example, extending outside the part 8 and the panel 16 to improve the user's protection on the vest 1. Such shells 20 are known and have the general shape of the body part they protect. The outer side hull 20 is shaped in a manner known to the shock absorption during clashes. The conformation is adapted to the body part to be protected and includes, for example protrusions extending from both sides of hollow, to improve the behavior of shells 20 in case of shock. Each portion 8 and panel 16 may be reinforced by a cover 20, the adjacent shells being hinged together for example.

The shells 20 may be permanently fixed or removable manner to the panels they cover, for example by riveting or the like.

The front parts 2 and 4 are provided with removable fixing means 22 for fixing the end parts 2 and 4 to each other, when the vest 1 has been threaded. By removable fixing means, it is meant that the end parts can be fixed to each other or detached from each other by engaging or not the means for fixing the parts together.

According to the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the fixing means 22 are formed by a zipper 24, the rails 26 are fixed respectively to one of the end parts 2 and 4. In a known manner, a cursor 28 is movable on the rails 26 so as to fix the one to the other or separate from each other. The cursor 28 and the rails 26 are shown in closed position in Fig. 1. The rails 26 are for example sewn onto the end portions 30 of the front parts 2 and 4 located one opposite the other when closing the vest 1, that is to say the end portions located at the Conversely passages 4 for the arms.

The removable fixing means 22 for fixing or not the front parts 2 and 4 to each other can be of a different nature that the slide fastener 24 described above. Thus, the removable fixing means 22 may be, for example snaps or strips of self-adhering tape, or a combination of these means.

The vest 1 described above can therefore be pushed in the manner of a coat. The front parts in the open position, the user moves an arm and the other arm through the passages 14 in order to thread the vest 1 then actuates the releasable fastening means 20 to close the vest 1 and maintain the front parts 2 and 4 against his abdomen. The clamping of the jacket 1 around the body can be adjusted via the side parts 9 arranged in the ribs. Thus the vest 1 is particularly quick and easy to put on and does not require, if necessary, remove the helmet covering the head of the user unlike the conventional bumper blows pullover vests as a chasuble.

When the vest 1 is closed and protections attached arms, the user is protected at its back, abdomen, shoulders, his ribs and part of his arm.

while the torso extending it will be appreciated with reference to the removable fastening means 22 is not protected because of the impossibility of placing an absorbing mattress in the end portions 30 of the front parts 2 and 4 receiving the removable fixing means 22.

To overcome this drawback, the jacket 1 of the invention also allows to set a pectoral protection panel 32 inside the jacket 1 on the back of the front parts 2 and 4 so that the pectoral panel 32 dual junction between the end portions 2 and 4 and the removable fastening means 22. the pectoral panel 32 thus extends between the end portions 2 and 4 and the torso of the user when the vest 1 is closed. Pectoral panel 32 has been shown more particularly in Fig. 3. As the other protective panels of the vest 1, comprising at least one mattress of elastically compressible material lined with a rigid plate coated for example with one or more textile materials. The pectoral panel 32 is removably attached to the end portions 2 and 4. More particularly, the pectoral panel 32 is for example fixed by means of a slide fastener 34 to one of the end parts 2. One the closure rails of the slide 34 is provided, for example on a tongue 36 fixed to the front portion 2 and extending over the back of the part and the other rail is provided on a side edge 38 of panel 32 pectoral. the pectoral panel 32 may further include for example a strip of 40 self-aggripant ribbon for cooperating with a complementary tape provided on the other end portion 4. Thus, the pectoral panel 32 does not hinder the implementation of the vest 1 , since it can be attached to only one of the front parts 2, when the vest 1 is open, then the two end portions 2 and 4, when the vest 1 is closed. The pectoral panel 32 strengthens the protection of the user's torso, particularly to ensure effective protection of the attachment area of the front parts 2 and 4 together, that is to say the area where s' extend the removable fasteners 22.

The vest 1 further comprises a pelvic panel 42 for protecting the pelvis of the user of the vest 1. This pelvic panel 42 is formed to the area that it protects, as shown in Fig. 4. It is removably secured, eg by means of a strip 44 of tape-type self-aggripant, at the lower end of the pectoral panel 32 as shown in Fig. 3. Thus, the pelvic panel 42 extends below the front parts 2 and 4, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2. The pelvic panel 42 further comprises releasable fastening means 46 to the back portion 6 allows the panel 42 to match the shape of the user's pelvis. The removable fastening means 46 are for example formed by 48 reciprocal fixing clips each extending at the ends of tongues 50 respectively integral pelvic panel 42 and the back portion 6.

According to one embodiment, one or both end parts 2 and 4 and / or the back portion 6 may be provided with removable fixing means on the outer face of these portions of at least one insert additional protection (not shown ). The removable attachment means are for example formed by one or more type of tape ribbon self-aggripant or by other means. The additional protective elements may be additional protection panels, such as those forming the different parts of the vest 1 and / or additional ballistic protection, and others.

Similarly, the inner face of the end parts and / or ridge may be provided with removable fixing means of at least one additional protective insert, such as a protection collar 54 of the neck and the neck of the user .

Thus, the back part and / or the side parts and / or the end parts may for example be equipped with one or several receiving pockets Additional protective panel. This additional protection panel may have different characteristics of protective panels described previously to

possible to modulate the protection offered by the jacket 1, as the additional panels are disposed in pockets or not.

The vest 1 thus offers the user a graduated protection according to the type of threat, the user can easily add or remove additional protection panels on the inside and / or outside of the vest.

Thus the vest 1 is highly scalable and can adapt the protection offered by the jacket 1 to the situation encountered. Thus, all removable elements attached to the vest, such as pectoral panel 32 and the pelvic panel 42, are interchangeable and can be replaced with various elements having different shock-absorbing characteristics. For example, these can be replaced by elements of protection against piercing type of shock or against ballistic impacts, adapting materials used for making the inserts, which makes it easy to enhance the protection offered by the 1 vest.

Similarly, the vest 1 is capable of receiving additional protective elements to enhance this protection, as has been previously described.

Each part may comprise more than one separate protective panel of other panels by sewing areas to help create less rigid areas that improve the user's ability to move while wearing the vest, as shown by reference numeral 56 of FIG. 1.

Thus the vest 1 is easy to use while providing protection and comfort to its user.
