Abstract: Most of the bushes in LCA are shrink fitted using liquid nitrogen (LN2). Some times due to assembly constraints and process variables, bush struck halfway in assembly making situation venerable for bush removal without physical damages. Use of commercial bush/ bearing pullers is restricted due to geometrical constraints. A special bush puller is designed to cater the need of above requirement and bush can be recovered without any damages.
DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention is a tool used to remove the bushes from the casing which is secured by interference fit of order 60 microns. This is specifically designed where commercial bearing/ bush puller can't be used. Bushes are removed without any physical damages to it and can be reused.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Most of the bushes in LCA are shrink fitted using liquid nitrogen (LN2). Some of the problems encountered in the above process are bush ID excessive shrinkage; Bush getting struck ■halfway, scoring/scratching on the ID of bushes. In order to rectify the above problem bush needs to be removed without damaging it and retaining the bore finish quality. Existing bush/bearing pullers commercially available can't be used due to its geometrical constraint and may result in damaging the parts.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Bush puller is a tool designed to facilitate the bush removal from the housing. The simple design enables to remove the bush without any physical damage to bore and bush as well. By changing the puller dimension this tool can be used universally for general application.
PROCESS DETAIL DESCRIPTION
Special bush puller is designed to cater the need of force-reaction requirement to remove the bush from the housing without damaging it. Base is placed on the reaction side of the bracket -- -and the puller at the force requirement side. Torque is applied to the screw rod by leverage rod which is transmitted to the puller in turn exert force on the bush.
