Radio Terminal And Method Thereof

Abstract: An NAS layer (202) of this radio terminal (1) sends information related to a first characteristic to an AS layer (208). The AS layer (208) determines a characteristic combination including a first characteristic and one or more other characteristics derived from the information. The AS layer (208) selects a random access resource from a first set of random access resources associated with the determined characteristic combination. The AS layer (208) uses the selected random access resource to transmit a random access preamble. This can contribute, for example, to provision of the interaction between the non-access stratum (NAS) layer and the access stratum (AS) layer of a radio terminal for determining a characteristic combination.
