Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device to perform multi-activity over road as
well as railway track. In particular, the present invention relates to a device to
perform dual activity of a payloader and carry a crane on railway Track as well as
on Road. More particularly, the present invention relates to a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including roads.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The known pay loaders can move only on road, whereas the track loaders like
excavators which are used for leveling ballast along the railway track are slow to
move from one place to others. Prior art fail to disclose any mobile equipment
which can move faster along the railway track and if required on road too. It is
not feasible to everytime deploy a mighty locomotive to level the ballast along
the track or to pull some trolley along the railway track with track maintenance
tools and crews at a faster pace. It is not possible for any conventional
equipment to quickly reach a place located on the road after moving across the
track and start working. To overcome such adversity, an emphasis is made to
develop a dual-acting device enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks
including road by modifying an existing pay loader.
OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
It is therefore an object of the present invention to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road, which
eliminates the disadvantages of prior art.
■■

Another object of the present invention is to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road, which cleanses
the railway tracks from ballast material or land sliding or snow block in the event
of excessive snow fall.
A further object of the present invention is to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road which acts as a
fast-moving rescue vehicle.
A still further object of the present invention is to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road which can be
utilized for multiple miscellaneous applications in respect of safety and security of
the railway tracks.
Yet another object of the present invention is to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road which is
capable to perform in remote locations including the locations having no-
electricity.
Yet further object of the present invention is to propose a dual-acting device
enabled to move on and perform in railway tracks including road on which
multiple gadgets like crane, ladder and overhead maintenance equipment can be
mounted.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to the present invention, a rail road loader comprising a pay loader
capable of moving both on rail and road an arm attached with a pusher/loader
gadget which performs pushing/picking up unwanted materials lying on road or
track. A front wheel set comprising two small wheels connected to a central shaft
with a steel structure part mounted on the main body of the pay-loader. At least
two hydraulic cylinders are disposed one each at left side hinge and at right side
hinge of the central structural part. The front wheel set has a provision to be
lifted up from the track by operating the hydraulic cylinders and can be placed
on the railway track when required by releasing the pressure of the hydraulic
cylinder. The hydraulic cylinders are connected to the main hydraulic line of the
pay loader by means of a pair of steel impregnated nylon pipes and
corresponding on-off valves, and operable from the driver cabin. The front steel
wheels are placed on railways track when the front rubber wheels of the pay-
loader are lifted from ground level.
A rear wheel set is provided at the rear side of the pay-loader which is operable
as per the same mechanism of that the front wheel set. The rear wheels act to
ensure that the pay loader rests on the railway track when placed and prevent
derailment of the device. The rear wheels of the pay loader touch and rest on
the railway track and the rotation of the rear wheels of the pay loader provides a
tractive force required to drive the device. During working condition, the front
steel wheels, rear steel wheels and the two rear-rubber wheels of the device rest
on the track and the two front rubber wheels of the pay loader is in hanging
condition. During transporting, the multi attachments with the arm of the pay-
loader performs multipurpose work according to the requirement.

Accordingly there is provided a dual-acting device enabled to move on and
perform in railway tracks including road, the device comprising a pay loader
having one each pair of front wheel and rear wheel made of rubber, a hydraulic
drive means controlling the movement of the pair of rubber wheels, a body with
engine including steering and braking means; one each structural frame having
pusher/loader means attached respectively to a front and a rear portion of the
body of the pay loader, the front structural frame being connected to the loader
by a first pair of hinge at a proximal end and a second pair of hinge at a distal
end; an auxiliary hydraulic mechanism having at least two hydraulic cylinders
including corresponding pistons disposed on the front position of the body, the
front structural frame being operable through the second pair of hinges on
activation of the auxiliary hydraulic mechanism which in turn connected to the
hydraulic drive means of the loader via at least two pipes; at least one each on-
off valve disposed on each of the hydraulic cylinders which allows the pair of
front wheel to operate under push-pull principle on activation of the auxiliary
hydraulic mechanism; and one each pair of steel wheels respectively provided to
the front and rear structural frames such that the auxiliary hydraulic mechanism
when activated enables the device to be seated on the railway tracks by means
of the front including rear pairs of steel wheels including the rear rubber wheels,
the front rubber wheels being placed at a height from the track level and allow
leveling of ballast and cleansing of undesirable materials by the device while
moving fast along the railway tracks, wherein the device is enabled to be seated
on the road by means of the front including rear rubber wheels keeping the steel
wheels including the structural frames at a height from the track-level to allow a
faster movement of the device along the road on deactivation of the auxiliary
hydraulic mechanism.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
Figure 1 - shows a schematic diagram of the rail road loader
according to the invention.
DETAILS DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF
THE INVENTION
As shown in Figure 2, the inventive device comprising a set of front-
steel wheels (2,2) Testable on a railway track (3). The front wheels
(2,2) are connected by a central structural frame (4). The central
structural frame (4) is hinged (5,5) with the main structure of a pay
loader(l). The central structure frame (4) is operable up and down by
at least two hinges (6,6) where one end of the pistons (7,7) of two
hydraulic cylinders (10,10) are connected. Each hydraulic cylinder (10)
is connected to two pipes (8,9) which are in turn connected to the
main hydraulic drive means of the pay loader (1). The OFF and On
position of the valves of the hydraulic cylinders (10,10) causes the
front wheels (2,2) to operate on a push or pull arrangement. When the
front wheels (2,2) rest on the railway track (3), the hydraulic cylinder
(10,10) lift the front rubber wheel (11,11) including the structural
frame (4) of the pay loader from the ground level.

The rear wheels (12,12) are restable on the railway track (3) by
releasing the hydraulic pressure of the cylinder (10) at rear end which
are attached to a second central structural frame (13) of the rear side
steel wheels (12,12). When the rear wheels (12,12) rest on the railway
track (3), the rear rubber wheels (14,14) of the pay loader (1) seats
on the railway track (3). The engine of the pay loader (1) rotates the
rear driving rubber wheels (14,14) and the device proceeds to forward
direction and perform the cleansing job by using the respective
attached gadget. The inventive device can be used for multipurpose
activities by only changing the gadget with the arm.
