Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (100) for sharpening of used blunt shaving blades or used razor blades. The present invention particularly relates to a manual sharpening device (100) comprising a rigid curved plate(1) forming a curvature having radius between 75 to 95 mm, adjoining flexible abrasive sheet (2) anchored on the inner side of curve plate (1) and detachable support stand (3), wherein composition of flexible abrasive sheet consisting of a polymerised silicone rubber matrix, crystalline abrasive agent having particle size between 3 to 20 microns and polymerization catalyst. The present invention is simple, small and useful tool providing a curve abrasive sheet that exert the abrasion force when shaving blade slides over abrasive surface for re-sharpening of shaving razors that may have become blunt after 2 to 4 uses and thus lengthen the life of the shaving blade by several times. DESC:The present application relates to a device for sharpening of used blunt shaving blades or used razor blades and a manual method for the sharpening the same. More specifically, the present invention is a portable tool to sharpen the blunt blades of shaving razor, moulded shaving razors and the like. The present invention particularly relates to a tool with a sharpening disc with curve for sharpening blades and a hard bed to act as surface for said sharpening disc while sharpening. Hence, the present invention is simple, small and useful tool for re-sharpening of shaving razors, disposable or cartridge razors that may have become blunt after 2 to 4 uses and thus lengthen the life of the shaving blade by several times. ,CLAIMS:We Claim:
1. A device for sharpening of shaving blades (100), comprising:
-a rigid curved plate (1),
-adjoining flexible abrasive sheet (2) anchored on the inner side of curve plate (1) consisting of a polymerised silicone rubber matrix, crystalline abrasive agent in concentration ranging from 10 to 50% by weight of matrix and polymerization catalyst in concentration ranging from 0.001% to 2.0% by weight of matrix,
-detachable support stand (3);
characterized in that the flexible abrasive sheet (2) is attached to the curved plate (1) forming a curvature having radius between 75 to 95 mm that exert the abrasion force when shaving blade slides over abrasive surface.
2. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein rigid curved plate material is selected from group of metal, plastic and wood, treated or untreated.
3. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein plastic material is selected from polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene naphthalate, polystyrene, various types of acrylate polymers and combination thereof.
4. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein thickness of adjoining flexible abrasive sheet (2) is between 2 to 10 mm.
5. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein anchoring of flexible abrasive sheet on curved plate is selected from physical arrangement selected from grooves, brackets and moulding.

The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 5, wherein moulding is in-situ fixing of flexible sheet into a holes (4) provided on a curve plate to form an anchor by allowing a to flow a portion of flexible abrasive matrix into a holes (4) provided on plate (1) edge followed by curing.
7. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein silicone rubber matrix is selected from polysiloxanes, polydimethylsiloxane and substituted polydimethylsiloxane.
8. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein abrasive agent is selected from silicon carbide, diamond powder, alumina and mixture thereof.
9. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 8, wherein crystal size of abrasive agent is selected between 3 to 20 microns, preferably from 2 to 3 microns.
10. The device for sharpening of shaving blades (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein polymerization catalyst is selected from a group of platinum-complex catalyst, more preferably Karstedt’s catalyst.
