Specification

DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present disclosure generally relates to driver health monitoring system and method of manufacturing thereof. Specifically, it relates to driver emergency state detection based on driver health condition, during the transit period status or vehicle is in movement condition on the road.
BACKGROUND
[002] The present driver’s health monitoring system has certain limitations such as the existing system and methodologies unable to detect the unconsciousness condition of the driver during the transit; also, the existing system may not comprise the feature of correlation between driver state of affairs and movement condition of the vehicle on the road in addition to correlation with historic event on vehicle with current state such as vehicle deceleration observed first and then unconsciousness detected. Further the existing system does not have vehicle control mechanism in the case of emergency such as closed loop from emergency detection to call for support.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
[003] The present subject matter solved the aforementioned and other problems by providing a real time health monitoring system for driver during transit period comprising a driver and road monitoring camera for real time monitoring of driver state and vehicle movement on the road and an image processing unit to process the image captured through the camera of the system.
[004] In one embodiment, the present subject matter discloses a real time heath monitoring system to detect the health condition of driver comprising a camera to capture the status quo of driver and movement of vehicle on road, an image processing unit to process the image captured through the camera of the said system; a camera serial interface to transfer data from camera to image processing unit; and a data recorder and analytic system.
[005] Here the real time heath monitoring system to detect the health condition of driver in the transit period or vehicle is in movement condition on the road. The real time heath monitoring system to detect the health condition of driver through the image processing unit located below the dashboard. The image processing unit continuously take and process vehicle information coming from the other control units present in the vehicle i.e., EMS, ABS, IC. CAN J1939 communication protocol used to exchange data between ECU present on the vehicle.
[006] The real time heath monitoring system of present subject matter continuously monitors and compare current health condition or status of driver with pre-stored database stored in the IMPU and generate alert in case of emergency state detected
[007] In the present system the image processing unit located below the dashboard
[008] The function of the image processing unit is to continuous monitor driver state and vehicle movement on road to detect emergency health condition or state of the drive by processing video data coming from driver and road monitoring cameras. The camera serial interface (CSI) used as a physical interface for the data transfer between camera to image processing unit.
[009] Further the image processing unit continuously take and process vehicle information coming from the other control units present in the vehicle i.e., EMS, ABS, IC. CAN J1939 communication protocol used to exchange data between ECU present on the vehicle. Here the system continuously monitors and compare current health condition or state with pre-stored database for emergency state and support mode active if any of the event is true with present driver/vehicle state. The system continuously co-relates historic vehicle data with the current state to confirm the emergency health condition or state of the driver and eliminate false event.
[0010] The system continuously monitors the state of other safety system i.e. ABS present on the vehicle to generate the emergency state. In the case of emergency health condition or state of the driver, the system of present invention stops the vehicle in case of emergency and generate request for the life support by using telematics gateway.
[0011] The uniqueness of the present subject matter is to monitor and detect driver emergency state detection by using image processing and analytics of vehicle data. Further control vehicle operation in case of emergency situation and provide support to the driver.
[0012] The advantage of present subject matter is to minimize the impact of accident by controlling the vehicle operation in real time and immediate assistance. In other way it provides driver and vehicle safety, thereby enhanced vehicle life and security.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0013] Aspects of the present disclosure are illustrated by way of example(s), and not by way of limitation, in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
[0014] FIG. 1 is a block diagram of the driver health and frontal object monitoring system
[0015] FIG. 2 shows flowchart for event detection and action for vehicle shut off and request for support of the system of present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS
[0016] The present invention belongs to the field of a health monitoring system. Particularly driver health monitoring system and method of manufacturing thereof.
[0017] Referring to FIG. 1 illustrated the system block diagram of the present invention. The present invention driver health monitoring system and method of manufacturing thereof. The driver health monitoring system of present invention illustrated by block diagram in FIG. 1, wherein camera fitted on a pillar to continuous monitor the driver and camera at center of windshield used to monitor the frontal object and road. The image processing unit takes input from both the cameras by using MIPI communication protocol, vehicle information from vehicle control unit and process to detect driver health state. The system continuous compare driver current state with predefined database stored in the IMPU and generate alert in case of emergency state detected. IMPU send these events to telematics gateway by using CAN J1939 protocol and TGW further forward this information to central server by using GSM protocol. Customer care team connected with central server immediately active after receiving the alert and provide necessary support to the driver.
[0018] Referring to the FIG. 2 illustrated represents the flowchart for event detection and action for vehicle shut off and request for support of the system of present invention. The flow of event starts, once vehicle speed goes above threshold value of 15 km/hr. The IMPU takes input from camera, vehicle control unit and process this to check driver health status. The system generates driver emergency alert in following conditions:
• Vehicle was running well and sudden deceleration of >=6g detected and driver went into unconscious state
• Vehicle was running well, sudden abnormal movement observed on vehicle travel path and driver went into unconscious state
In case of above events IMPU generates driver emergency state alert for support and shut off the vehicle.
