Abstract: Disclosed herein is a door assembly for a vehicle. The door assembly comprises a first panel and a second panel. The first panel is attached to the second panel, thereby forming an aperture for a window glass. A first post, a second post, an upper member, and a lower member of the first panel define an opening. A guide channel is disposed at the inner periphery of the first panel define an opening. A guide channel is disposed at the inner periphery of the first panel and receives a glass run mould. The window glass is slidably disposed in the glass run mould. The inner surfaces of the first post and the second post are provided with a first cutout and a second cutout respectively. The first cutout and the second cutout facilitate easy insertion of the window glass into the door assembly.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION The following specification describes the invention
1
Field of Invention:
The present invention relates to arrangements for installation of window glass of an automobile. Background:
Generally, to install a window glass 208 on a door 102 (as shown in Fig. 1), where width of the glass is same as that of full width of a door, inadequate space is available for insertion of the glass at the time of its installation and subsequent servicing. Therefore, instead of using the glass covering full width, a glass with less width than that of opening in the door is used and subsequently the gap is fitted with a channel of adequate width. This arrangement has a disadvantage that the view of the rear passengers gets blocked to that extent.
In case of pick-up vehicles the rear door structure does not provide enough room for inserting the glass. In pick-up vehicles, the rear door has the same opening as that of the door width.
Therefore there is a need for a design which will ease the insertion of a rear door window glass which can be installed easily without having to reduce the area of viewing to passengers occupying rear seats.
Object of the Invention:
An object of the invention is to provide more visibility to a rear passenger.
2
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for easy installation of a rear door window glass.
Another object of the present invention is to provide fewer components for installation of a rear door window glass.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method requiring less cost for installation of a rear door window glass.
Another object of the present invention is to reduce the damage to finished surface of the body of the vehicle.
Another object of the present invention is to improve the aesthetic of the vehicle.
The invention is described with reference to the embodiments given hereinafter. It may however be understood that the embodiments are only by way of example and that the invention may be exemplified in many other ways obvious to a person skilled in the art.
Description:
Initially guide channel 202 is fitted on door inner panel 204. Then glass 208 is inserted from a cut out 210 made in the inner panel 204. The cutout is provided from inside of the door frame. Since the cutout is from inside, it protects the aesthetic of the vehicle and also reduce the chance of spoiling / damaging the finishing on the outside of the body of vehicle. After the glass is inserted, the cutout 210 is covered by the closing piece.
3
Other embodiments of the invention will be apparent to a person skilled in the art or follow from routine experimentation.
