Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of audio devices. In particular, the present disclosure provides a reconfigurable audio output assembly.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed disclosure, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Conventionally, audio output devices are integral part of hardware of electronic computing device. Fixed configuration of audio output devices lacks portability of the audio output devices when other functionalities of the electronic computing device are not in use. Moreover, the audio output devices as part of the electronic computing device are usually in non-wearable form and audio signals transmitted from the audio output devices are configured to reach multiple users present with a predetermined range of distance from the electronic computing device, thus lacking in isolation of usage.
[0004] It would be advantageous if the audio output devices can be detached from the electronic computing devices. Furthermore, wearable forms of the audio output devices can be convenient for a user. Existing literatures disclose removable terminal devices with audio headsets that can be attached to the electronic computing device magnetically. Another disclosure describes wireless receivers that can be accommodated in a recess at the back of the electronic computing device. Designs of a wirelessly chargeable earpiece and a Bluetooth enabled earplug have been disclosed that can be attached to grooves in the electronic computing device. However, none of the disclosed designs describe audio output devices that can be operated both as wearable and non-wearable devices.
[0005] Hence, there is need in the art to develop a reconfigurable audio output device that can be used in either of a wearable and a non-wearable configuration. The proposed audio output assembly can be used in either of a wired and wireless mode depending on the status of engagement of the audio output assembly with the electronic computing device. The proposed assembly can be disengaged but not detached from the electronic computing device if a user desires so.
