DESCRIPTION
Technical Field
[OOOl]
The present invention relates to a recording apparatus
including a recording unit and an opening/closing body
provided in an upper portion of the recording unit and
capable of opening and closing the upper portion.
Background Art
[0002]
In recent years, a recording apparatus called a
multifunction machine integrally including a recording unit
and a scanner unit, and specifically, an ink jet
multifunction machine, has been widely available (PTL 1).
Furthermore, in the ink jet multifunction machine, a socalled
serial type ink jet type recording apparatus
including a head unit (may be referred to as a carriage)
that has a recording head ejecting ink and is capable of
moving in a predetermined moving direction is the most
popular type.
[0003]
Here, for the head unit, there are one on which an ink
storage section (hereinafter, appropriately referred to as
"ink cartridge") storing the ink is mounted and one on which
the ink cartridge is not mounted.
[0004]
The head unit on which the ink cartridge is mounted
reciprocates in a predetermined direction in a state where
the ink cartridge is mounted and ink is supplied from the
ink cartridge to the recording head inside the head unit.
In the head unit on which the ink cartridge is not mounted,
the ink cartridge is provided independently from.the head
unit and ink cartridge and the head unit (recording head)
communicate with each other by an ink tube for supplying the
ink (for example, PTL 2) .

Summary of Invention
Technical Problem
[0006]
In recent years, in the ink .jet multifunction machine,
reducing a size has been more demanded and, specifically,
reducing a height (reducing a dimension in a height
direction of an apparatus) has been significantly requested.
However, in the type in which the ink cartridge is not
mounted on the head unit, since it is necessary for the ink
tube to be put out from the inside of the apparatus to the
outside, the dimension in the height direction of the
apparatus is likely to increase. Furthermore, when the ink
tube is put out from the inside of the apparatus to the
outside, there is a need to consider not impairing a
recording function.
[0007]
Thus, the invention is made in view of the situation
described above and an object of the invention is to provide
a recording apparatus that is provided with an ink tube and
integrally includes a recording unit and an opening/closing
body while considering reduction of a height and maintenance
of a recording function of the apparatus.
Solution to Problem
[ 0 0 0 8 ]
In order to solve the above problems, a recording
apparatus according to a first aspect of the invention
includes a recording unit that has a head unit including a
recording head ejecting ink onto a medium and movable in a
scanning direction of the recording head inside an apparatus
body; and an opening/closing body that is provided in an
upper portion of the recording unit and capable of opening
and closing the upper portion of the recording unit. The
recording unit includes an ink tube that guides the ink sent
from an ink storage section storing the ink to the head unit
and has flexibility, and a control section that performs
recording on the medium by c o n t r o l l i n g the head u n i t when
d e t e c t i n g a depressed s t a t e of a switch and does not perform
the recording when detecting a non-depressed s t a t e of the
switch, based on a s t a t e of t h e depressible switch t h a t is
provided i n the upper portion of the recording u n i t , feeding
means t h a t feeds the medium from a medium storage s e c t i o n
s t o r i n g the medium, and a medium receiving t r a y t h a t is
displaceably provided between a protruding p o s i t i o n t h a t is
protruded from the recording u n i t and a storage p o s i t i o n
t h a t i s stored i n the recording u n i t and receives t h e
discharged medium. The medium storage s e c t i o n includes a
medium storage t r a y t h a t is a t t a c h a b l e and detachable with
respect t o the recording u n i t independently from t h e medium
receiving t r a y on a lower s i d e of the medium receiving t r a y .
In t h e medium receiving t r a y , a r e l i e f s e c t i o n f o r avoiding
the feeding means i s formed on an upstream s i d e i n a
discharging d i r e c t i o n of the medium and t h e feeding means is
positioned i n s i d e of the r e l i e f section i n t h e storage
p o s i t i o n . The switch i s i n t h e depressed s t a t e i n a s t a t e

ink flow passage on t h e i n s i d e of t h e i n k tube and through
which the ink tube passes i s formed between the recording
u n i t and the opening/closing body depending on a posture of
the opening/closing body.
[0009]
In this aspect, in the recording apparatus including
the recording unit and the opening/closing body capable of
opening and closing the upper portion of the recording unit,
the recording can be performed in a state where the gap
having the size that does not'block at least the ink flow
passage on the inside of the ink tube is formed between the
recording unit and the opening/closing body. That is, the
recording can be performed in a state where a required
minimum gap is formed. Thus, it is possible to maintain a
recording function while considering reduction of a height
of the apparatus when passing the ink tube from between the
recording unit and the opening/closing body of the apparatus.
[OOlO]
Furthermore, since the relief section for avoiding the
feeding means is formed in the medium receiving tray
receiving the discharged medium, it is possible to overlap
the feeding means and the medium receiving tray in the
height direction without it being necessary to superimpose
the feeding means and the medium receiving tray in the
height direction of the apparatus. Thus, it is possible to
further reduce the dimension in the height direction.

u n i t and the ink storage s e c t i o n i n a depth d i r e c t i o n of t h e
recording u n i t without crossing t h e p r o t r u s i o n s e c t i o n .
[0021]
In t h i s a s p e c t , the scanner u n i t has t h e p r o t r u s i o n
s e c t i o n s t r u c t u r a l l y protruding from t h e bottom s u r f a c e and
t h e ink tube is connected t o both the head u n i t and t h e ink
s t o r a g e s e c t i o n without crossing t h e p r o t r u s i o n s e c t i o n .
Thus, it is p o s s i b l e t o prevent an i n c r e a s e i n t h e dimension
of t h e apparatus i n the height d i r e c t i o n .
[0022]
In an eleventh aspect according t o t h e t h i r d a s p e c t ,

provided in a bottom portion of ,a head unit 29. The head
unit 29 is driven to reciprocate in a scanning direction of
the recording head 30 (front and back direction of a paper
surface of Fig. 4) by a motor (not illustrated).
[0052]
A support member 28 is provided in a position facing
the recording head 30 and a gap between the sheet P and the
recording head 30 is defined by the support member 28. Then,
a discharging means including a discharging drive roller 31
that is driven to be rotated by a motor (not illustrated)
and a discharging driven roller 32 that is driven to be
rotated coming into contact with the discharging drive
roller 31 is provided on the downstream side of the support
member 28. The sheet P on which the recording is performed
the cording head discharged the discharged
sheet receiving tray 8 described above by the rollers.
[0053]
Subsequently, a configuration of the scanner unit 3
will be described. The scanner unit 3 is rotatably
connected to the recording unit 2 through the rotation shaft
40 (Fig. 4 ) and opens and c l o s e s t h e upper portion of t h e
recording u n i t 2 by the r o t a t i o n t h e r e o f . In a s t a t e where
t h e scanner u n i t 3 i s opened, it i s p o s s i b l e t o access t h e
i n s i d e of the recording u n i t 2 and, f o r example, jam
processing and t h e l i k e a r e performed.
[0054]
The scanner u n i t 3 is provided with a reading u n i t 43
scanning along t h e same d i r e c t i o n a s t h e scanning d i r e c t i o n
( r i g h t and l e f t d i r e c t i o n i n Fig. 3 and t h e f r o n t and back
d i r e c t i o n of t h e paper surface i n Fig. 4 ) of t h e recording
head 30. The reading u n i t 43 i s formed by mounting an image
sensor such as a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) or a Charge
Coupled Device (CCD) .
[0055]
The reading u n i t 43 has a long shape i n a depth
d i r e c t i o n ( v e r t i c a l d i r e c t i o n i n Fig. 3 and l a t e r a l
d i r e c t i o n i n Fig. 4 ) of t.he apparatus and o b t a i n s power from
a d r i v i n g source (not i l l u s t r a t e d ) , and moves i n t h e
scanning d i r e c t i o n while being guided by a guide r a i l 42 a s
a guide s e c t i o n extending i n t h e scanning d i r e c t i o n . I n
a d d i t i o n , r e f e r e n c e numeral 44 i n the reading u n i t 43 i s a
guided s e c t i o n i n s l i d i n g contact with t h e guide r a i l 42.
Furthermore, r e f e r e n c e numeral 46 i s a driven r o l l e r t h a t i s
driven t o be r o t a t e d by coming i n t o contact with an i n s i d e
bottom portion of t h e scanner u n i t 3. P a r a l l e l ( p o s t u r e ) of
the reading unit 43 to the platen 39 is held by the guided
section 44 and the driven roller 46.
[0056]
A protrusion section 41 extending in the scanning
direction of the reading unit 43 is provided in a bottom
surface 45 of the scanner unit 3 so as to protrude from the
bottom surface 45 to the recording unit 2 side. The
protrusion section 41 is a protrusion section for disposing
the guide rail 42.
[0057]
As illustrated in Fig. 4, in the printer 1 according to
the embodiment, the head unit 29, the protrusion section 41,
and the rotation shaft 40 of the scanner unit 3 are disposed
in order from the front side (right side in Fig. 4) of the
unit toward a depth side (left side in Fig. 4) in a depth
direction of the unit. The protrusion section 41 is
disposed on the rotation shaft 40 side further than a center
position of the scanner unit 3 in the depth direction of the
unit.
[0058]
That is, since the protrusion section 41 of the scanner
unit 3 and the head unit 29 are disposed by shifting the
positions in the depth direction of the unit, it is not
necessary to disp.ose the protrusion section 41 and the head
unit 29 so as to be superimposed. Thus, it is possible to
overlap the head unit 29 and the protrusion section 41 in
the height direction. According to the embodiment, it is
possible to achieve reduction of a height of the apparatus
compared to a configuration in which the protrusion section
41 and the head unit 29 are disposed so as to be
superimposed.
[0059]
Subsequently, an ink supply system supplying the ink to
the recording head 30 will be described in detail. In Figs.
1 and 2, reference numeral 54 is a housing (case)
configuring an external appearance of the recording unit 2
and an opening section (opening region) 54b is formed on an
upper surface of the housing. The opening section 54b is an
opening exposing a part of a moving region of the head unit
29 and when the paper is jammed, a jam processing operation
(removing operation of the sheet) is performed through the
opening section 54b by opening the scanner unit 3.
[0060]
Subsequently, the head unit 29 according to the
embodiment is configured such that the ink is supplied from
an ink tank 48 (48A to 48F) mounted on a side.surface of the
housing 54 to the recording head 30 through an ink tube 52
as a flow passage forming member forming an ink flow passage
without mounting an ink cartridge.
[0061]
More specifically, the ink tanks 48A to 48F are ink
storage sections respectively storing difficult color inks.
' For example, the ink tank 48A stores black ink, the ink tank
48B stores yellow ink, the ink tank 48C stores magenta ink,
the ink tank 48D stores cyan ink, the ink tank 48E stores
light cyan ink, and the ink tank 48F stores light magenta
ink.
[0062]
A plurality of ink tubes 52 are tubes having
flexibility and respectively form an ink flow passage from
the ink tank 48 to the recording head 30 for each color ink.
The head unit 29 stores relay sections 50A to 50F
respectively corresponding to each color ink.
[0063]
The relay sections 50A to 50F are components for
relaying the recording head 30 and the ink tank 48, and the
plurality of ink tubes 52 are respectively connected to the
relay sections 50A to 50F. In other words, the ink tubes 52
are in a state of extending from the relay sections 50A to
50F to the outside of the head unit 29.
COO641
In addition, hereinafter, the ink tanks 48A to 48F are
referred to as "ink tank 48" unless otherwise necessary to
distinguish specifically and, similarly, the relay sections
50A to 50F are referred to as "relay section 50" unless it
is necessary to distinguish specifically.
[0065]
Subsequently, the ink tube 52 is left from the inside
of the opening section 54b to the outside and is fixed to an
upper surface 54a of periphery of the opening section 54b in
the housing 54. Reference numeral 58 is a tube fixing
material and the plurality of ink tubes 52 are fixed to the
upper surface 54a by the tube fixing material 58 in a state
of being arranged in a horizontal direction. In addition,
for example, it is possible to use various materials such as
a tape, a wire, and a plate material for the tube fixing
material 58. That is, it may be the tube fixing material 58
as long as the ink tube 52 can be fixed to the upper surface
54a of the housing 54.
[0066]
In the embodiment, as described above, since the ink
tubes 52 are fixed by using the upper surface 54a of the
periphery of the opening section 54b in the housing 54, it
is possible to fix the ink tubes 52 by using the housing 54
as the ink tube fixing material with space saving and low
cost.
LO0671
Next, in Fig. 2, the head unit 29 indicated by a solid
line is in a state of being moved to the most right side and
the head unit indicated by an imaginary line and by
reference numeral 29' is in a state of being moved to the
most left side viewed from the front side of the apparatus.
The ink tubes 52 are deformed according to a moving
operation of the head unit 29 in a segment between the tube
fixing material 58 and the head unit 29.
First, the ink tubes 52 extending from the tube fixing
material 58 to the ink tanks 48 are left to the left side of
the housing 54 through the gap (indicated by reference
numeral 57 in Fig. 1) formed between the scanner unit 3 and
the recording unit 2 (housing 54) and is in a state of being
connected to the ink tanks 48 of each.color.
[0069]
The gap 57 is formed by bosses 56 as "gap forming
member" in the embodiment. The bosses 56 are provided in
both end portions in the upper surface 54a of the housing 54
in the right and left direction of the apparatus. The
bosses 56 abut the bottom surface 45 of the scanner unit 3
and form the gap 57 illustrated in Fig. 1 when the scanner
unit 3 is closed. In addition, in the embodiment, two
bosses 56 are provided, but are not limited to the
embodiment, and may be one or three or more. That is, it
may be the bottom surface 45 as long as the gap 57 can be
formed.
[0070]
Here, the gap 57 is a gap through which the ink tubes
52 pass and, more specifically, is a gap having a size that
does not block the ink flow passage on the inside of the ink
tube 52. That is, if the ink tube 52 is crushed between the
scanner unit 3 and the recording unit 2, the ink flow
passage is blocked and the ink is not supplied from the ink
tank 48 to the recording head 30. Thus, the gap 57 is
formed having the size that does not block the ink flow
passage inside the ink tube 52.
[0071]
In addition, the size of the gap 57 is not necessarily
an outer diameter or more of the ink tube 52, that is, even
if the ink tube 52 is crushed to some extent between the
scanner unit 3 and the recording unit 2, it may be good as
long as the ink flow passage inside the ink tube is not
blocked. Furthermore, it is possible to support the scanner
unit 3 by rigidity of the ink tube 52 itself without forming
the gap 57 using the bosses 56. At this time, even if the
ink tube 52 is crushed to some extent between the scanner
unit 3 and the recording unit 2, it may be good as long as
the ink flow passage inside the ink tube is not blocked.
[0072]
Subsequently, as illustrated in Fig. 2, a hole 54c is
provided on the upper surface 54a of the housing 54 in the
upper portion of the recording unit 2 and the switch 60 is
provided i n s i d e t h e hole 54c. In the embodiment, t h e switch
60 configures a d e t e c t i o n means f o r d e t e c t i n g an opening and
closing s t a t e of the scanner u n i t 3.
[0073]
More s p e c i f i c a l l y , a p r o t r u s i o n 47 ( F i g . 5) is provided
on a bottom surface of t h e scanner u n i t 3 and when t h e
scanner u n i t 3 i s closed, t h e p r o t r u s i o n 47 e n t e r s t h e hole
54c a s i l l u s t r a t e d i n v a r i a t i o n from Fig. 6(A) t o Fig. 6(B)
and depresses a l e v e r 61 of t h e switch 60 ( h e r e i n a f t e r ,
simply r e f e r r e d t o as "depresses t h e switch 60"). Thus, a
c o n t r o l s e c t i o n 63 (Fig. 6) connected t o t h e switch 60
d e t e c t s t h a t t h e scanner u n i t 3 i s closed. The c o n t r o l
s e c t i o n 63 is a c o n t r o l s e c t i o n of the e n t i r e p r i n t e r 1 and
c o n t r o l s each r o l l e r , the head u n i t 29, t h e recording head
30, and t h e l i k e i l l u s t r a t e d i n Fig. 2.
[0074]
In t h e embodiment, i f t h e c o n t r o l s e c t i o n 63 d e t e c t s a
non-depressed s t a t e of t h e switch 60, t h a t is, t h e scanner
u n i t 3 is i n an open s t a t e , t h e recording operation i s not
performed. Furthermore, i f t h e c o n t r o l s e c t i o n 63 d e t e c t s
t h a t t h e switch 60 is i n t h e depressed s t a t e , t h a t is, t h e
scanner u n i t 3 i s i n the closed s t a t e , t h e recording
operation is performed.
[0075]
Here, Fig. 6(B) i l l u s t r a t e s a s t a t e where t h e gap 57 is
formed by the bosses 56 provided on the upper surface 54a of
the housing 54. In this state, as illustrated in the
drawing, the protrusion 47 provided on the bottom surface of
the scanner unit 3 enters the hole 54c and depresses the
switch 60. That is, the printer 1 includes a configuration
in which the switch 60 is in the depressed state in a state
where the gap 57 which has the size that does not block the
ink flow passage inside the ink tube 52 and through which
the ink tube 52 passes is formed between the recording unit
2 and the scanner unit 3. Then, the protrusion 47 is formed
in such a length.
[0076]
That is, since the recording can be performed in a
state where the gap 57 through which the ink tube 52 passes
is formed between the recording unit 2 and the scanner unit
3, it is possible to maintain the recording function while
considering reduction of the height of the apparatus by the
minimum gap 57 when passing the ink tube 52 from between the
recording unit 2 and the scanner unit 3.
[0077]
In addition, the protrusion 47 is formed to have a
length by which the switch 60 can be depressed when the
scanner unit 3 is closed (in a state where the gap 57 is
formed), and the switch 60 may be depressed when closing the
scanner unit 3 by mounting an extension member 49 on a
leading end of a protrusion 47' as illustrated in Figs. 7(A)
and 7 (B) .
100781
In addition, in any configuration illustrated in Figs.
6(B) and 7(B), the gap 57 may be formed by making the
protrusion provided in the scanner unit 3 abut the switch 60.
That is, the protrusion may function as the gap forming
member forming the gap 57.
[0079]
As the configuration in which the switch 60 is
depressed in a state where the scanner unit 3 is closed and
the gap 57 is formed, instead of the protrusion, for example,
a member enters the inside of the hole 54c and the switch 60
is in the state of being depressed, and the hole 54c can be
closed by a tape and the like thereon.
[0080]
Furthermore, in the embodiment, the head unit 29, the
protrusion section 41 of the scanner unit 3, and the
rotation shaft 40 of the scanner unit 3 are disposed in
order from the front side (right side in Fig. 4) of the unit
toward the depth side (left side in Fig. 4) in the depth
direction of the unit. In addition, the ink tubes 52 are
connected to both the head unit 29 and the ink tanks 48
without crossing the protrusion section 41. Thus, it is not
necessary to provide a space through which the ink tubes 52
pass below the protrusion section 41 and it is possible to
suppress a dimension of the apparatus in the height
direction.
[0081]
In addition, in the embodiment, one of means for
controlling the dimension of the apparatus in the height
direction is provided in the discharged sheet receiving tray
8. Hereinafter, the discharged sheet receiving tray 8 will
be described.
In the embodiment, in the discharged sheet receiving
tray 8 in Fig. 9, an entire region of a sheet receiving
surface 8a receiving the sheet P as a sheet material is
formed of one member, that is, the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 is not configured as a multi-stage tray
(pull-out type) but as a one-state tray. More specifically,
in the embodiment, an entirety of the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 is integrally formed by a resin material.
Thus, improvement of entire rigidity as the discharged sheet
receiving tray is achieved and low cost is achieved by a
simple structure.
[0082]
Side end portions (end portions in a direction (width
direction of the 'sheet) crossing the discharging direction
of the sheet) 8e of the discharged sheet receiving tray 8
are slidably supported with respect to a frame (not
illustrated) configuring a base body of an apparatus body 2.
Rack sections 8f are formed in both of the end portions
(both end portions in a direction crossing the discharging
direction of the sheet) of the discharged sheet receiving
tray 8 along the discharging direction of the sheet. A
pinion gear (not illustrated) engages with the rack sections
8f and thereby the discharged sheet receiving tray 8
performs a displacement (slide) operation by receiving power
of a motor (not illustrated).
Ridge-shaped portions 8d on which both end portions of
the sheet in the width direction ride are formed on both
sides on the downstream side of the sheet receiving surface
8a receiving the sheet P in the discharged sheet receiving
tray 8. For the sheet having a size of which both end
portions ride on the ridge-shaped portions 8d, the leading
end of the sheet rides on the ridge-shaped portions 8d and
thereby the sheet is prevented from falling from the
discharged sheet receiving tray 8. Furthermore, the both
ends of the sheet ride on the ridge-shaped portions 8d and
thereby curling is formed in the sheet. Thus, the leading
end of the sheet is prevented from protruding, sagging, and
then dropping from a leading end of the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8. Furthermore, inclined guide surfaces 8c
are formed on the upstream side of the ridge-shaped portions
8d and the leading end of the sheet smoothly climbs over the
ridge-shaped portions 8d without being caught in the ridgeshaped
portions 8d.
COO841
Meanwhile, for the sheet having a width of which both
end portions do not ride on the ridge-shaped portions 8d,
since in most cases, the leading end of the sheet is not
protruded from the leading end of the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8, there is no concern that the sheet falls
from the discharged sheet receiving tray 8. Moreover, since
an inclined guide surface 8b is formed on the downstream
side (between two ridge-shaped portions 8d) in a center
region of the sheet receiving surface 8a and is connected to
a high position support surface 8j higher than the sheet
receiving surface 8a, the sheet having the width of which
both end portions do not ride on the ridge-shaped portions
8d is prevented from falling from the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 by the inclined guide surface 8b and the
high position support surface 8j.
[0085]
Tray guide surfaces 8h that support and guide a disc
tray (not illustrated) are formed in the ridge-shaped
portions 8d. The disc tray is a tray for setting an optical
disc (not illustrated). That is, the printer 1 according to
the embodiment is configured to be capable of recording on a
label surface of the optical disc. The tray guide surfaces
8h are formed in positions slightly higher than the high
position support surface 8j and a height position thereof is
set in a position in which a disc tray 60 can be
horizontally supplied to the transportation path of the
apparatus body 2.
[0086]
Eaves sections 8k are formed in the upper portion of
the tray guide surfaces 8h and a posture of the disc tray
(not illustrated) is regulated so that both end portions'of
the disc tray are not excessively floated from the tray
guide surfaces 8h by the eaves sections 8k. In addition,
tray support protrusions 8g are formed slightly inside the
tray guide surfaces 8h and after the disc tray (not
illustrated) is supplied to the transportation path, the
disc tray 60 is supported by the discharging drive roller 31
and the tray support protrusions 8g, and a horizontal
posture is maintained.
[0087]
Next, a relief section 8r for avoiding the feeding
means 9 is formed on the upstream side (upper left side in
Figs. 9 and 10) in the discharging direction of the sheet in
the discharged sheet receiving tray 8. The feeding means 9
includes the feed roller 10, the swing member 11, and a gear
train 14 for transmitting power from the rotating shaft 12
to the feed roller 10.
[0088]
A width (width in the width direction of the sheet) h
of the relief section 8r provided in the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 is set to be slightly greater than a width
of the swing member 11. That is, when the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 is in the storage position (state of Fig.
9), the relief section 8r is formed in a notch shape so as
to surround the feeding means 9 and is set such that the
swing member 11 can be swung inside the relief section 8r.
Furthermore, in the embodiment, since a feeding reference
position in the width direction of the sheet is set at the
center of the sheet, the relief section 8r is formed
substantially at the center in the width direction of the
sheet.
[0089]
The relief section 8r provides operational effects as
follows. That is, the discharged sheet receiving tray 8 is
provided to be stored inside the apparatus body 2, but if
the.feeding means 9 and the discharged sheet receiving tray
8 are superimposed in a state where the discharged sheet
receiving tray 8 is stored inside the apparatus body, an
increase (specifically, increase in the dimension in the
height direction) in the size of the apparatus is likely to
be caused.
However, as described above, since the relief section
8r for avoiding the feeding means 9 is formed in the
discharged sheet receiving tray 8, it is possible to overlap
the feeding means 9 and the discharged sheet receiving tray
8 in the height direction of the apparatus and to suppress
an increase in the dimension of the apparatus in the height
direction without it being necessary to superimpose the
feeding means 9 and the discharged sheet receiving tray 8 in
the height direction of the apparatus.
[0091]
In addition, as described above, the ridge-shaped
portions 8d on which both end portions of the sheet ride are
formed on the downstream side of the sheet receiving surface
8a in the discharged sheet receiving tray 8. Both ends
(both ends in a direction (width direction of the sheet)
crossing the discharging direction of the sheet) of the
sheet ride on the ridge-shaped portions 8d and thereby curl
is formed in the sheet. In Fig. 10, a sheet indicated by
symbol P' and by an imaginary line represents a state where
such curl is formed. Both end portions on the downstream
side ride on the ridge-shaped portions 8d and then the
center portion on the upstream side slightly enters the
relief section 8r and thereby the curl is formed in the
sheet.
[0092]
Thus, the leading end of the sheet can be prevented
from protruding, sagging, and then dropping from the sheet
receiving surface 8a. Furthermore, as illustrated in Fig.
10, in order to form the curl in the sheet, it is preferable
I that the relief section 8r be formed in the center portion
in the width direction of the sheet, but even if the relief
section 8r is formed in an end portion in the width
I
direction of the sheet, it is possible to promote the I
1 formation of the curl in the sheet if the ridge-shaped
portions 8d are formed in the both end portions on the
I
I
downstream side.
! In the embodiment, as illustrated in Fig. 11(A), a
bottom portion 8s of the relief section 8r is formed in a
flat shape when viewed from a plan view, but as a bottom
portion 8s' of a relief section 8r1 illustrated in Fig.
11(B), for example, the bottom portion 8s' may be formed in
I a V shape or a U shape so that a width is narrowed to the i ~ downstream side (lower direction in the same drawing) in
I discharging direction.

(3) In the embodiment described above, all of the
plurality of ink tanks 48 are provided on the left side of
the apparatus and then the plurality of ink tubes 52 are
left to the left side of the apparatus, but conversely, the
ink tanks 48 are provided on the right side and then the ink
tubes 52 may be left to the right side of the apparatus.
Otherwise, as illustrated in Fig. 7, a part of the plurality
