Specification

DESC:TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to reduction of vibration levels in an engine by way of composite materials. More particularly, the present invention relates to reduction of restriction in the power train components (rotation of crankshaft and piston) during operation by reducing oil splash.
BACKGROUND
The vibration that is generated in the interior of a vehicle reduces the user’s ride comfort. The structural vibrations are caused due to the loosening of mounts. The two types of vibrations caused at the engine are: torsional and longitudinal vibrations. The cylinder pressure is increased by the rotation of the crankshaft, as the piston approaches top dead center on the compression stroke. Just after that the ignition and combustion increases the pressure and the pressure start to decrease when the piston moves down to bottom dead center.
In an engine system, the follower is kept pressed against the cam surface by means of a retaining spring. Due to inertia of the follower, beyond a particular speed, during a part of cam rotation, the follower may lose contact with the cam, which is a type of vibration. This is a transient condition that occurs only with high speed engine.
The lubrication system plays a key role in maintaining peak performance of engines. Proper lubrication ensures reliability and longevity. Engine oil reduces operating temperature and friction between components for better performance and longer life.
3
Oil pan is one of the source of vibration and in cases it being structural item and it transmits vibration to the Engine and this vibration is reduced by introduction of this plate.
The technology existing in the prior art causes a great amount of oil splash from the oil pan to the block and are highly complex and cost consuming.
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the present invention is to reduce the vibration levels in an engine.
Yet another objective of the present invention is to reduce restriction in the power train components during operation by reducing oil splash.
The instant invention achieves the object by designing and assembling a plate that reduces oil splash from the Oil sump into the block at different gradient levels and also reduces the vibration levels of the engine acting as a damper between Oil Pan and Cylinder Block.
SUMMARY
According to the present invention, a plate is designed and assembled between the engine block and the oil pan. Said plate acts as a vibration reducer by absorbing the vibration and also avoids oil splash from the pan back to the block.
According to the instant invention, the said plate provides for a dual solution of reduction of vibration levels in the engine as well as oil splash along with weight reduction.
4
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the said plate is made of two layers of Cold Rolled Cold Annealed Steel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The other objects, features and advantages will occur to those skilled in the art from the following description of the preferred embodiment and the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 illustrates the assembly of a plate between the engine block and oil pan
Fig. 2 depicts the cross-section of the plate
Fig. 3 depicts the top view of the vibration isolator plate.
Plate for reduction of vibration levels in engine wherein vibration reducer plate (1) is assembled between the engine block (2) and the oil pan (3), said plate acts as a vibration reducer by absorbing the vibration and also avoids oil splash from the oil pan (3) back to the block. Plate for reduction of vibration levels in engine has got two layers of cold rolled cold annealed (CRCA) steel. This is worth mentioning that CRCA steel has been used for making the plate as it has got precise and accurate dimensional tolerances, Robust surface finish, Improved mechanical & physical properties, Improved draw-ability. The first layer (4) of cold rolled cold annealed steel is of 3mm thickness & thickness of second layer (5) of cold rolled cold annealed steel is of 2.5mm thickness; and both the layers are joined with each other by adhesive coating of 0.002 mm.
The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
,CLAIMS:1. Plate for reduction of vibration levels in engine wherein vibration reducer plate (1) is assembled between the engine block (2) and the oil pan (3), said plate acts as a vibration reducer by absorbing the vibration and also avoids oil splash from the oil pan (3) back to the block.
