FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder.
PRIOR ART
Thick Patch at individual mountings is provided to strengthen the Panel and Rear Floor locally shown in Fig. 1.
The prior art as shown in fig. 2 and 3 is not robust enough to withstand the load of Cylinder 8s satisfy all performance requirements. In order to meet all performance requirements the size & number of patches are required to be increased, but it will add to weight & cost.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder, which provides enough strength to mount cylinder frame.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder, which is simple and robust to withstand the load of cylinder and meet other requirements.
Further object of the present invention is to provide an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder, which is safe for use as the mounting brackets hide inside rear floor and longitudinal members avoiding risk of injury during handling in spare tire area.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder, which is efficient.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder comprising of a plurality of reinforcements inside longitudinal members of the rear under body.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The Present Invention provides reinforcements inside longitudinal members of rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder comprising of provision of reinforcements inside the longitudinal members welded to its horizontal and vertical walls resulting in sufficient strength for mounting heavy CNG/LPG cylinder frame alongwith meeting all performance and homologation requirements.
Mounting of heavy cylinder Frame Structure in monocoque body shell is challenging as the available sheet thickness in the body structure is not sufficient enough to withstand the weight of Cylinder along with meeting all performance & homologation testing requirements.
Hence, in the present invention these reinforcements are positioned inside longitudinal members in such a way that it provides structural rigidity in all directions i.e. along X, Y & Z axis.
Advantageous feature of the present invention is that, it does not involve any change in shape of existing structural members, avoiding management of different variants of parts for Petrol / Non Petrol (CNG / LPG) vehicles.
Further, as these reinforcements are hidden in between Rear Floor & Longitudinal members, it provides added safety because there are no risks of injury (due to sharp edges) which can occur during hand operations in spare tire area.
A) Design of Reinforcements: Four new Reinforcements are provided each having 6 flanges (4 flanges in vertical direction & 2 in horizontal direction) as shown in figure 4.
B) Positioning inside Longitudinal Members: The concept behind such a design of reinforcement is that, it can be positioned inside longitudinal member of Rear Under Body enabling its welding with longitudinal member with both horizontal 8s vertical walls of longitudinal members (As shown in figure.5).
The welding of Reinforcements with both horizontal & vertical walls of longitudinal members provides robustness as the load gets distributed from cylinder to Longitudinal members in both horizontal 8s vertical direction i.e. along X, Y & Z axis.
Reference may be made to fig. 7 indicating judicious placement of these reinforcements inside longitudinal members.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM:
1. An improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder comprising of a plurality of reinforcements inside longitudinal members of the rear under body.
2. An improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder as claimed in claim 1, wherein the reinforcements are positioned inside the longitudinal members in such a way that it provides structural rigidity in all directions.
3. An improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein each of the reinforcements comprising of atleast four flanges in vertical direction and atleast two flanges in horizontal direction.
4. An improved rear under body of monocoque structure for mounting CNG cylinder as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein said reinforcements are welded with both horizontal and vertical walls of the longitudinal members.
