Specification

The present invention relates to a herbal formulation
and More particularly, the present invention relates a
herbal formulation typically used for pain & sprain relief.
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:
After the development of medical science, several reasons
have been identified, which are responsible to cause
musculoskeletal pain. Even the daily activities, without due
care and attention may cause damage to the muscle tissues.
A sudden jerk, shock or trauma such as jerking
movements, auto accidents, falls, sprains, dislocations and
direct blows to the muscles are also responsible for
musculoskeletal pain. Other reasons include postural strain,
repetitive movements, overuse, and prolonged immobilization.
Changes in posture or poor body mechanics may bring about
spinal alignment problems and muscle shortening, therefore
causing other muscles to be misused and become painful.
People with musculoskeletal pain sometimes complain that
their entire bodies ache. Pain can be perceived due to
inflammatory and pressure and stress related stimulation of
nerve endings in the region of pain. Their muscles may feel
like they have been pulled or overworked. The common
symptoms of musculoskeletal are pain, fatigue, sleep
disturbances and the like.
2
In order to overcome the pain caused due to musculoskeletal
several compounds and ingredients are known in the art,
which acts as muscle relaxants. However, a few of the
compounds are synthetic and a few may have serious side
effects. A few of the extemal pain relief remedies are also
known in art, however they may contain counter irritants and
thus cannot be used on skin sites having injury. All present
formulations available for external use in the market are
either chemical drug based or contain counter-irritants like
salicylates which can have side-effects and provide superficial
relief which does not address the underlying cause. The
medical formulations available and known in the prior art
have failed to provide a lOOo/o Natural, Organic formulation
that avoids irritant & synthetic ingredients. This may be
attributed to the fact that strictly avoiding such ingredients
undermines other desired properties such as instant relief of
pain, & favorable sensory characters from the point of view of
the consumer. Thus, a perfect balance is always required
between the kind of ingredients used in the pain-killer
formulation and the side-effects generated by such
ingredients.
Thus, there is a need of herbal formulation, which addresses
the cause of pain perception without irritation and harm to
the broken or a braised skin at the site of trauma in a natural
and gentle way, thus promoting remission of pain and
swelling from the root. Accordingly, the present invention
discloses a need for a natural & completely safe relief spray
3
formulation that effectively & with the help of natural potent
herb relief the sensation of Pain & reduce the swellings of
joints from acute rheumatism, musculoskeletal disorder.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide a safe
herbal formulation, which can be easy to apply as well as
non-harmful to the skin.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal
formulation, which can be an effective medication for pain
relief.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a herbal
formulation, which can be effective on sensitive skin and gives
a pleasing feel to the user.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a
herbal formulation, which is free from any synthetic perfume,
preservative, alcohol, colorings & other substances with
known potential hazard for users with sensitive skin.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a herbal
formulation, which is suitable or the remedy /relief for the
painful musculoskeletal stress or injury related trauma and
4
pain related to disorders like sciatica, cervical & lumbar
spondylitiiji, rheumatoid & osteoarthritis etc.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a herbal pain-relief
composition which is formulated from herbal and natural
ingredients without any toxic side-effects based on the active
properties of pain relief (anodyne), inflammation reduction
(anti-inflammatory) and healing properties of herbs and their
extracts in a synergistic combination. Said herbal pain relief
composition comprising therapeutically effective amounts of
water soluble active ingredients, at least one carrier, at least
one solubilizer and at least one water soluble natural
preservative.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING:
Embodiments of the invention are herein described, by way of
non-limiting example, with reference to the following
accompanying Figures:
FIG. l is a flowchart showing the method for preparing herbal
spray relief formulation of Example l according to present
invention.
5
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention overcomes the aforesaid
drawbacks and the above and other objects, features and
advantages of the present invention will now be described in
greater detail. Also, the following description includes various
specific details to assist in that understanding but these
specific details are to be regarded as merely exemplary.
Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize
that: without departing from the scope and spirit of the
present disclosure, various embodiments may be various
changes and modifications described herein.
The present invention is a novel relief spray formulation,
which is an herbal and natural product based on the active
properties of pain relief (anodyne), inflammation reduction
(anti-inflammatory) and healing properties of herbs and their
extracts in a synergistic combination. The product arising out
of present invention can be externally used and made up of
natural ingredients without any toxic side-effects. The present
invention is a replacement for chemical and toxic drugs or
formulations for the same purpose. The present invention can
also be a replacement for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs. The said invention has proved to be extremely effective
and efficacious in providing relief of sprains, sports injuries,
joint pains etc. without any side-effects on extemal use.
6
In the present invention, in order to prepare
formulation, natural herbs are chosen, which have a proven
pain reducing properties as mentioned in ancient ayurvedic
text. In an embodiment of the present invention a mixture of
most powerful pain relief and anti-inflammatory herbs are
selected, which constitutes to become part of the formulation.
The said herbs are made water soluble in order to enable the
active ingredients to solublize in the water phase for efficient
delivery to the dermal cells through hydro-absorption. In the
said soluble water phase, the oil phase consisting of potent is
added along with natural essential oils of other herbs that are
proven to be efficacious in reducing pain & swelling. The two
phases (oil & water) are homogenized using a naturally
derived solubiliser to retain the "Natural" character of the
invented formulation.
The following table provides the complete composition of
whole ingredients of such a natural formulation of the
invention:

preferably the composition of VitexNegundo and Urticadiocia
was taken. Then, said herbs were made water soluble in order
to enable the active ingredients to solublize in the water phase
for efficient delivery to the dermal cells through hydroabsorption.
In said soiuble water phase, the natural essential
oil of other herbs was added. Then, these two phases (oil &
