Remote Battery Cut Off System For An Automobile.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a remote battery cut off system which comprises; a power source (01); a cut off switch (02) for cutting off power supply; an actuation means (03) for actuating said cut off switch (02); an air supply control means (04) mounted on said actuation means (03) for controlling the air; an emergency switch (05) provided for remotely operating said cut off system by driver; said air supply control means (04) is interfaced with air tank (06) of vehicle; said actuation means (03) having a plunger (07) which activate said cut off switch (02) to cut off the power supply to wire harness means (08) and indicate the completion of power supply disconnection with the help of indicator means (09). The present invention provides and enhances safety to the occupants as well as vehicle. The present invention is cost effective, quick in response and simple in construction.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the nature of invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

Field of invention:
This invention Telates to safety features in an automobile and more particularly it relates to a remote battery cut off system for rear engine bus which activates the battery cut off switch to prevent fire hazard due to accident.
Background of invention:
Generally, the battery cut off switch is provided in commercial vehicles to prevent the fire hazard in case of an emergency. The emergency battery cut off switch is located in the engine compartment of vehicle. The emergency battery cut off switch in rear engine bus is located in the engine compartment at the back of the vehicle. Incase of emergency like accident or fire, the engine needs to shut down by the driver and driver needs to rush to battery cutoff switch, which is located in engine compartment, to switch off the battery to protect vehicle and occupants from possible exposure to electrical or fire hazard.
Typically in front engine buses the battery cut off switch is located at driver cabin. In case of rear engine vehicle, providing battery cut off switch in driver cabin requires costly high current cables from engine compartment to driver's cabin. Moreover the current drops due to the length of the battery cables from battery to driver's cabin and back to engine.
The present invention is developed to provide remote battery cut off mechanism to prevent occupants of vehicle from fire hazard.
Objects of invention:
The main object of the present invention is to provide a remote battery cut off system for an automobile.
Yet another object of the present Invention is to provide a remote battery cut off system for an automobile which enhance safety to the occupants as well as vehicle.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a remote battery cut off system for an automobile which is cost effective, quick in response and simple in construction.
Statement of invention:
A remote battery cut off system comprises; a power source (01); a cut off switch (02) for cutting off power supply; an actuation means (03) for actuating said cut off switch (02); an air supply control means (04) mounted on said actuation means (03) for controlling the air; an emergency switch (05) provided for remotely operating said cut off system by driver; said air supply control means (04) is interfaced with air tank (06) of vehicle; said actuation means (03) having a plunger (07) which activate said cut off switch (02) to cut off the power supply to wire harness means (08) and indicate the completion of power supply disconnection with the help of indicator means (09).
The system , in accordance with this invention, wherein said power source (01) is interfaced with said cut off switch (02).
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said actuation means (03) is a pneumatic cylinder which is arranged to be disposed adjacent to said battery cut off switch (02).
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said actuation means (03) comprises an air supply control means (04) for controlling the air supply to said actuation means (03).
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said air supply control means (04) is a solenoid switch provided on said pneumatic cylinder to control the supply of air from air tank of vehicle.

The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said air supply control means (04) is interfaced with said emergency switch (05).
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said cut off switch (02) is having a lever (02a) which is pushed by the forward motion of said plunger (07) to cut off the power to the entire vehicle electrical system.
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said wire harness means (08) is interfaced with said cut off switch (02) which gets activated by said plunger (07) and cuts off the power supply from said power source (01).
The system, in accordance with this invention, wherein said system is having an indicator means (09) such as lamp provided on the vehicle cabin to indicate the successful completion of battery disconnection.
Brief description of the invention:
In accordance with the present invention, a remote battery cut off system comprises a power source 01, battery cut off switch 02, actuation means 03, air supply control means 04 mounted on said actuation means 03 for controlling the air, emergency switch 05, said air supply control means 04 is interfaced with air tank 06 of vehicle, said actuation means 03 having a plunger 07 which activate said cut off switch (02) to cut off the power supply to wire harness means (08) and indicate the completion of power supply disconnection with the help of indicator means (09).

Detail description of the invention:
Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same,
In accordance with the present invention, a remote battery cut off system comprises; a power source 01, battery cut off switch 02, actuation means 03, air supply control means 04 mounted on said actuation means 03 for controlling the air, emergency switch 05, said air supply control means 04 is interfaced with air tank 06 of vehicle, said actuation means 03 having a plunger 07 which activate said cut off switch (02) to cut off the power supply to wire harness means (08) and indicate the completion of power supply disconnection with the help of indicator means (09).
Said power source (01) is interfaced with said cut off switch 02. Said actuation means 03 is a pneumatic cylinder having a plunger 07. Said actuation means 03 comprises an air supply control means 04 for controlling the air supply to said actuation means 03. Said actuation means 03 is arranged to be disposed adjacent to said battery cut off switch 02.
Said air supply control means 04 is a solenoid switch provided on said pneumatic cylinder to control the supply of air from air tank of vehicle. The said air supply control means 04 is interfaced with said emergency switch 05.
Said cut off switch (02) is having a lever 02a which is pushed by the forward motion of said plunger 07 to cut off the power to the entire vehicle electrical system.
In case of fire hazard or accident, the driver operates the said emergency switch 05, the air supply control means 04 gets operated and allows air from

said air tank 06 to get supplied to said actuation means 03 which is a pneumatic cylinder which activates the said plunger 07 provided therein. The supply of air from the said air tank 06 forces to travel the said plunger 07 to move in forward direction. The forward motion of said plunger 07 interfaces with the said lever 02a and pushes the lever 02a of the said battery cut off switch 02 to off position which cuts off the power to the entire vehicle electrical system.
The driver operates the said emergency switch 05 before the vehicle is in parked condition. The operation of said emergency switch 05 energize the said air supply control means 04 such as solenoid valve provided on said actuation means 03 such as a pneumatic cylinder. The activation of said air supply control means 04 enables the entry of pressurized air from said air tank 06 to said actuation means 03 such as a pneumatic cylinder. The said plunger 07 of said actuation means 03 exerts operating force on said lever 02a of said battery cut off switch 02 which disconnects the power source from the battery to said vehicle wire harness means 08.
Said wire harness means 08 is interfaced with said cut off switch 02 which gets activated by said plunger 07 and cuts off the power supply from said power source 01. Said system is having an indicator means such as lamp provided on the vehicle cabin to indicate the successful completion of battery disconnection.
The successful completion of battery disconnection is indicated to driver with the help of indicator means 09 such as switching off battery lamp provided on dashboard of vehicle thus avoiding the hazardous situation. The present invention provides a remote battery cut off system for an automobile wherein driver can conveniently switch off power source from battery to all electrical system of the vehicle and leave the vehicle in safe parking condition.

The foregoing description is a specific embodiment of the present invention. It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included insofar as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof.

WE CLAIM
1. A remote battery cut off system comprises; a power source (01); a cut off switch (02) for cutting off power supply; an actuation means (03) for actuating said cut off switch (02); an air supply control means (04) mounted on said actuation means (03) for controlling the air; an emergency switch (05) provided for remotely operating said cut off system by driver; said air supply control means (04) is interfaced with air tank (06) of vehicle; said actuation means (03) having a plunger (07) which activate said cut off switch (02) to cut off the power supply to wire harness means (08) and indicate the completion of power supply disconnection with the help of indicator means (09).
2. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said power source (01) is interfaced with said cut off switch (02).
3. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said actuation means (03) is a pneumatic cylinder which is arranged to be disposed adjacent to said battery cutoff switch (02).
4. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said actuation means (03) comprises an air supply control means (04) for controlling the air supply to said actuation means (03).
5. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said air supply control means (04) is a solenoid switch provided on said pneumatic cylinder to control the supply of air from air tank of vehicle.
6. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said air supply control means (04) is interfaced with said emergency switch (05).

7. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said cut off switch (02) is having a lever (02a) which is pushed by the forward motion of said plunger (07) to cut off the power to the entire vehicle electrical system.
8. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said wire harness means (08) is interfaced with said cut off switch (02) which gets activated by said plunger (07) and cuts off the power supply from said power source (01).
9. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said system is having an indicator means (09) such as lamp provided on the vehicle cabin to indicate the successful completion of battery disconnection.
10. A remote battery cut off system for an automobile as herein described with reference to accompanying drawings.
