Abstract: The present invention relates to a fully automatic vehicle cover system is designed as a protective rear guard for vehicles. It comprises a canister (2) permanently affixed at the vehicle's rear, accommodating a cover (3) that extends for vehicle coverage or retracts for exposure. The system operates via a remote-controlled motorized mechanism featuring a primary hub (4) linked to a tubular motor (6), a secondary rod (5) with engaging gears (13 and 14) connected to the primary hub, and guide rods (7 and 8) enabling cover movement. Additionally, the system includes a strip (9) and a string (11) housed in separate clamped housings (10 and 12) on the secondary rod (5). The strip guides cover extension, while the string aids in cover retraction. Activation occurs via the vehicle's battery, initiating forward tubular motor rotation to extend the cover over the vehicle from the primary hub. Conversely, reversing the tubular motor's rotation retracts the cover into the canister, ensuring effective rear protection (Published with figure 3).
Description:FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a canister-integrated vehicle cover and rear guard system designed to provide both protective covering and rear-end shielding for vehicles. The system is fully automatic, utilizing a motor-controlled mechanism activated via remote control for seamless covering and uncovering of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The necessity of a vehicle cover system extends beyond mere protection; it's a comprehensive solution addressing various elements that can impact a vehicle's condition. These covers serve as a shield against diverse weather conditions, safeguarding the vehicle from rain, sun exposure, snow, and airborne debris. By acting as a barrier, they significantly reduce the risk of paint damage and preserve the vehicle's exterior aesthetics. Additionally, they mitigate the accumulation of dust, pollen, and debris, ensuring the vehicle remains cleaner for longer durations, reducing the frequency of intensive cleaning routines.
[0003] More particularly, it is equally very important to cover the glass areas of a vehicle. The vehicle covers play a pivotal role in shielding the glass surfaces from diverse environmental elements such as rain, snow, and damaging UV rays. By providing a protective barrier, these covers mitigate the risk of potential damage, cracks, or chips that weather elements might cause. Moreover, they act as a shield against debris like dust, dirt, leaves, and bird droppings, reducing the need for frequent cleaning and preserving the clarity of the glass. Additionally, by minimizing exposure to sunlight, vehicle covers help in preserving the interiors, preventing fading and damage to the dashboard caused by UV rays. Beyond protection, covering the glass areas also contributes to improved security and privacy by obstructing visibility into the vehicle, safeguarding valuables, and acting as a deterrent against theft.
[0004] To fulfil the above requirement, there are plenty of vehicle cover systems are available in the market; they can solve very few needs only. Many of the practical needs are not accurately addressed.
[0005] The prior art US5516181 pertains to an easy roll-on/roll-off vehicle cover designed to substantially cover the top, sides, front end, under body, and rear compartment of a motor vehicle. The cover comprises a main section of flexible sheeting material, rear and front straps affixed respectively to the rear and front edges, an elongate tubular element attached to the main section's bottom face, side flaps covering the vehicle sides, and side straps connecting the side flaps to the vehicle sides and under body. Drawbacks of this prior art system include manual removal steps involving releasing front and side straps, placing side flaps onto the main section's top face, and manually rolling the tubular element to stow the cover within the rear compartment. This manual process might be cumbersome and time-consuming compared to the proposed system's automated, remote-controlled mechanism for effortless covering and uncovering of the vehicle, ensuring faster and more efficient protection.
[0006] So, there is a need for a system to address multiple practical requirements through its unique configuration and function. The proposed configuration includes a canister-integrated vehicle cover and rear guard system designed to provide both protective covering and rear-end shielding for vehicles.
[0007] Further, the proposed system is fully automatic, utilizing a motor-controlled mechanism activated via remote control for seamless covering and uncovering of the vehicle.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0013] Yet another object of the invention is to implement strings for uniform winding, enabling the cover to retract fully into the canister, ensuring comprehensive and efficient coverage of the vehicle while preserving the cover's longevity.
[0014] Yet another object of the invention is to develop a reliable, durable, and long-lasting vehicle cover system that not only efficiently protects vehicles but also ensures ease of operation, longevity, and sustained effectiveness over time in varying weather conditions.
[0015] Further object of the present application will be highly appreciated and be easily understood upon reading the detailed description taking into consideration the appended drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0016] The present invention relates to a canister-integrated vehicle cover and rear guard system designed to provide both protective covering and rear-end shielding for vehicles.
[0017] Innovative utilization of the vehicle cover system's canister, particularly for rear-end protection, contributes to reinforcing the vehicle's structural resilience. Integrating this canister effectively provides an additional layer of defense, safeguarding the rear compartment from minor impacts and environmental elements. It also plays a role in preserving the rear aesthetics.
[0018] The incorporation of remote-controlled and motorized operations in vehicle cover systems isn't merely about convenience; it's a step towards efficient and effective vehicle protection. Remote-controlled functionalities offer unparalleled convenience by enabling effortless deployment and retrieval of the cover. Simultaneously, motorized mechanisms facilitate swift actions, ensuring immediate protection in varying weather conditions. These features allow for precise and automated movements, ensuring consistent and uniform application of the cover each time, maximizing its effectiveness.
[0019] Moreover, the necessity of guide strips for unwinding and strings for winding within these systems is paramount. Guide strips play a critical role in ensuring controlled unwinding, facilitating smooth and guided movement of the cover without misalignment or bunching, thereby preserving the cover's integrity. Conversely, strings aid in uniform winding, enabling the cover to retract fully into the canister, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the vehicle. This vehicleeful winding and unwinding process minimizes wear and tear on the cover material, ensuring its longevity and sustained effectiveness over time.
