Revolutionizing Atn Transactions : Secure And Convenient Banking For Diverse Users Through Biometric

Abstract: ABSTRACT: The patented technology aims to change the banking paradigm by improving security, safety, and accessibility. ATM machines are most important modes of financial transaction but it is sad to the fact that, it is prone to problems like card cloning, damage, expiration, skimming, shoulder surfing, loss of cards, card theft, issuance and maintenance costs, unauthorized access, and delays in card issuance due to its single factor authentication in India. Our patented technology aims to reduce the overall expenditure of ATM cards while simultaneously improving security, safety, user-friendliness and experience. Our idea is to integrate biometric (2 Factor Authentication) i.e. fingerprint authentication and iris recognition. During the time of Aadhaar card making, the biometric information like fingerprint and iris is collected. Banks access the same data under the proposed system when opening accounts (with legal authorization). This would give users, easy efficient and more secure way of transaction. From this it follows that the effort to unlawfully make entry into ATM systems in an unauthorized manner is made considerably more complex forthose with malicious intentions. The improved protections do provide security to consumers' financial data as well as keep up the trust that individuals can have in using distant banking services. It achieves the system that is immune to the threats posed by conventional ATMs with the usage of biometrical technologies for authentication such as fingerprints, iris scans, and facial recognition.

Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION:
Financial Technology (Fintech): Biometric enhanced automatic ATM transaction.
This invention is a novel approach that aims to revolutionize the banking sector, focusing on Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for more secure, inclusive, and technologically advanced banking experience. To overcome the challenges faced with the ATM cards, our innovation involves the integration of biometric authentication methods, such as fingerprint, iris, face, and voice recognition, for ATM transactions to enhance the security and convenience of all the users including rural and visually impaired individuals.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Patent search report:
The global threat of ATM frauds requires the implementation of strong security measures to protect customer assets and mitigate potential risks. (Smith et al., 2021) "Enhancing ATM Security: A Comparative Analysis o f Biometric Authentication Systems", International Journal o f Information Security, 15(3), pp. 231-245). Traditional ATM authentication techniques, primarily dependent on magnetic stripe cards and static Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), have proven vulnerable to exploitation by fraudsters, leading to unauthorized transactions and financial losses. (Jones & Patel, 2020), "Addressing ATM Fraud: Current Challenges and Future Directions"; Banking Security Journal, 25(4), pp. 55-68).
To address these challenges, innovative solutions utilizing biometric authentication technology have surfaced as promising alternatives to traditional ATM security protocols By integrating advanced biometric features such as fingerprint recognition and iris scanning, these systems offer enhanced security measures while also improving user experience and accessibility” (Brown et al., 2019), "Biometric Authentication fo r Enhanced ATM Security: A Review o f Techniques and Applications”, Journal o f Financial Security, 12(2), pp. 98-112). Moreover, recent patents such as US Patent No. 10,456,789 B2, titled "Biometric Authentication System fo r ATM Security"(by Smith, A., et al.), demonstrate advancements in biometric authentication technology specifically tailored for ATM security, further enhancing the landscape of ATM security measures. "Furthermore, recent advancements in encryption techniques have bolstered the security of biometric authentication systems, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive user data" (Gupta & Singh, 2020), "Advancements in . Encryption Techniques fo r Biometric Authentication Systems", IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 15(4), pp. 783-798). Additionally, research by Lee et al. 2018, "Biometric Authentication: A Comprehensive Survey", ACM Computing Surveys, 51(4), pp. 7-47Jprovides insights into the various biometric authentication techniques and their applications, further contributing to the understanding and

development of robust ATM security solutions. This holistic approach not only addresses the vulnerabilities associated with traditional ATM security but also demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding customer trust and confidence in the banking industry
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION:
1. The principal objective is to offer user-friendly and secure transactions for biometric authentication system for Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). 2. Another objective is to address the various issues encountered by both ATM users and providers/banks such as card cloning, damage, expiration, skimming, loss of cards, card theft, issuance and maintenance costs, unauthorized access, and delays in card issuance. 3. In addition, to ensure accessibility for diverse range of user groups, particularly the people living in rural areas, elderly population, and visually impaired individuals is another principal objective. 4. Additionally, we aim use cutting-edge & innovative biometric multi-factor authentication techniques like iris and fingerprint as primary mode of verification. Furthermore, face and voice recognition as additional modes of verification is another primary objective for effective utilization of ATMs. 5. Furthermore, primary objective is tu strengthen customer experience and satisfaction with efficient ATM services and contribute to the advancements banking or financial technology.

Fingerprint authentication: Due to the fact that, each person has distinct fingerprint patterns it makes highly effective and versatile modes of authentication. Iris recognition: The intricate patterns of the iris are highly distinct in each individual, and remain constant throughout a person’s life. The above-mentioned methods are highly reliable, accurate, impossible or difficult to replicate or spoof making it most practical and highly secure means for authentication. These biometric identifiers are collected during the time of Aadhar card enrolment. The same data is accessed by the banks during the time of creating a bank account, which offers 2 Factor Authentication(2FA) protection layers and data usage incentives for the public, thus turning banking operations easier and safer for the entire community. This novel invention has the potential of making banking more secure for everyone. This enables easy and user-friendly transaction among users with parallel improvement in security. But the authorities have to provide for the restrictions against the misuse of personal data through this. A new system of security increases level o f safety and reliability not leaving room for intruders which makes users feel safe and calm.
The banking application will aim at. providing customers with a more simplified and increased security in financial management experience. Its scheme embraces all spectrum of clients, viz, senior citizens with vision impairment and those from the countryside and remote terrains enabling affordability of financial services for all. As the application advances the protection level assessment for ATMs and designs consumer confidence in the integrity and security of financial transactions, it takes the lead in the field.
