Robotic Assistance For Medicine Delivery And Monitoring In Old Age Homes.
Abstract: Abstract In a hospitals or Old Age Homes where multiple people have to be taken care by a limited number of staff members, it becomes difficult to differentiate and remember the needs of the patient or elderly person. For this, currently the nurse or the care taking staff maintains their diaries to dispense and deliver the medicines appropriately. In pandemic situations like COVID19 due to shortage of nursing staff the elderly people are exposed to staff which are under qualified and frequent changes in nursing staff will be highly risky. Hence a system to deliver medicine without human intervension will be highly appreciable.

• The design is used to identify the patient by using RFID tag.
• It gives medicines to the particular patients as per prescription on time.
• Collects the patients’ vitals.
• Send the collected data to the cloud database and any device with internet.
• The medical personnel are intimated in case of variations in vitals.
• It will serve as supplemental healthcare workers in hospitals, elderly-care facilities and at home

Claim 1: Robot checks for the medicine by using IR sensors and approaches to the patient as per prescribed time.
Claim 2: By tapping the RFID card given to the patient, patient details registered is sourced from the cloud.
Claim 3: Blood oximeter, temperature sensors are activated, and Oxygen and temperature levels are displayed using the display and then the values are uploaded to the cloud and in case of variations the medical personnel are intimated.
Claim 4: The robot dispenses the tablets and waits for the patient to take the tablets. If the patient doesn’t pick the tablets, the robot again tells the patient to take the tablets.
