Rolling Mill Stand And Method Of Changing A Work Roll Assembly Thereof

Abstract: A rolling mill stand (400) for rolling a metallic product (P') comprises, inter alia: first and second movable rails (414, 416) arranged to allow unimpeded movement of work roll chocks (506, 508) of upper and lower work rolls (504) when in an idle position during rolling operations, and replacement of the upper and lower work rolls (504) when in a service position. Methods are provided for moving the first and second movable rails (414, 416) between the idle position and the service position in order to replace the upper and lower work rolls (504).
