Rotary Compressor

Abstract: Downsizing of a compressor is realized without causing a pressure loss of a suction gas channel  and a resource-saving  high-efficiency  low-vibration  compact rotary compressor is provided. The rotary compressor of the present invention includes  in a sealed container  a compression mechanism driven by an electric motor via a crank shaft. The compression mechanism includes a cylinder having a substantially circular cylindrical internal space and a suction port which is formed in a radial direction and adapted to take a low-pressure fluid of a refrigeration cycle into the internal space  and a connection pipe which connects the suction port to a suction pipe outside the sealed container. The suction port  the connection pipe  and the suction pipe each have a noncircular cross-sectional shape which is longer in a rotating direction of the crank shaft than in an axial direction of the crank shaft.

Specification

1. A rotary compressor (100) comprising, in a sealed container (1), a
compression mechanism (3) driven by an electric motor (2) via a crank shaft (4),
wherein the compression mechanism (3) includes
a cylinder (8) having a circular cylindrical internal space and a suction port (50, 51) which is formed in a radial direction and adapted to take a low-pressure fluid of a refrigeration cycle into the internal space, and
a connection pipe (60, 61) which connects the suction port (50, 51) to a suction pipe (40, 41) outside the sealed container (1), and
wherein the suction port (50, 51), the connection pipe (60, 61), and the suction pipe (40, 41) each have a noncircular cross-sectional shape which is longer in a rotating direction of the crank shaft (4) than in an axial direction of the crank shaft (4).
2. The rotary compressor (100) according to claim 1, comprising:
an accumulator (20), a conduit (21) for introducing the low-pressure fluid into the accumulator (20), and the suction pipe (22, 23) which discharges the low-pressure fluid from the accumulator (20) and is connected to the connection pipe (60, 61),
wherein the suction pipe (22, 23) has a noncircular cross-sectional shape which is longer in a rotating direction of the crank shaft (4) than in the axial direction of the crank shaft (4), and the conduit has a circular cross-sectional shape.
3. The rotary compressor (100) according to claim 1, comprising:
an accumulator (20), a conduit (21) for introducing the low-pressure fluid into the accumulator (20), and the suction pipe (40) which discharges the low-pressure fluid from the accumulator and is connected to the connection pipe,
wherein the suction pipe (22, 23) has a connection pipe connecting portion (22a, 23a) with a noncircular cross-sectional shape which is longer in a rotating direction of the crank shaft (4) than in an axial direction of the crank shaft (4), the suction pipe (22, 23) has an accumulator (20) inserting portion with a circular cross-sectional shape, and the conduit (21) has a circular cross-sectional shape.

4. The rotary compressor (100) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the noncircular cross-sectional shape is any one of an ellipse, an oval, a connected circle, and a shape formed by connecting two circles with short diameters.
5. The rotary compressor (100) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the connection pipe (60) to be press-fit into the suction port (50) has an elongated hole-like noncircular cross-sectional shape in which a fiat portion that connects two circles of an elongated hole projects outward within the range of press-fit margin with respect to the suction port (50) and the connection pipe (60).
