Abstract: Rotary electric machine stators have suffered from the problem that sufficient space cannot be secured between adjacent teeth if winding work is performed in a state in which a plurality of teeth are linearly laid out. Therefore this rotary electric machine stator comprises a plurality of magnetic pole pieces and a plurality of iron pieces disposed adjacent to each of the magnetic pole pieces. The magnetic pole pieces include: a back-yoke section disposed along the outer periphery of an annular shape formed by the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces; and a teeth section protruding from the back-yoke section in the center direction. The iron pieces are rotatably connected at the circumferential end of the back-yoke section of the adjacent magnetic pole pieces.
We Claim:
[Claim 1] A stator for a rotary electric machine, comprising:
a plurality of magnetic pole pieces; and
a plurality of iron pieces each adjacent to the magnetic pole pieces,
wherein the magnetic pole pieces include:
back yoke portions arranged along an outer periphery of the stator when the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces form an annular shape; and
tooth portions that each protrude from the back yoke portion toward a center and have a coil wound therearound, and
wherein the iron pieces are each turnably coupled to circumferential end portions of the back yoke portions of the adjacent magnetic pole pieces.
[Claim 2] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 1, wherein the back yoke portions each include a flat face that forms a part of an outer peripheral face of the stator when the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces form the annular shape.
[Claim 3] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 1 or 2, wherein, when the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces are developed into a linear shape, lower ends of end faces of each of the back yoke portions are located

on a lower side with respect to lower ends of end faces of each of the iron pieces, which are opposed to the end faces of the each of the back yoke portions.
[Claim 4] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the iron pieces each include a curved face having an arc shape that forms a part of the outer peripheral face when the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces form the annular shape.
[Claim 5] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein a recessed portion and a projecting portion, which are to be fitted to each other, are formed on an end face of at least one back yoke portion of the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and an end face of the iron piece opposed to the end face of the back yoke portion, respectively.
[Claim 6] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the iron pieces are each coupled to the adjacent magnetic pole pieces at thin portions so as to be bendable.
[Claim 7] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 6, further comprising an insulator configured to cover the tooth portion,

wherein a coil is wound through intermediation of the insulator.
[Claim 8] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 7, wherein a distal end of the insulator extends to an inner peripheral face of the iron piece adjacent to the magnetic pole piece on which the insulator is provided.
[Claim 9] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 8, wherein the insulator has a cutout at a boundary portion between the magnetic pole piece on which the insulator is provided and the iron piece adjacent to the magnetic pole piece.
[Claim 10] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 9,
wherein the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces are each formed through lamination of a predetermined number of electromagnetic steel sheets that have been punched out, and
wherein the electromagnetic steel sheets that have been punched out are each a sequence of an electromagnetic steel sheet including portions corresponding to the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and portions corresponding to the plurality of iron pieces, which are coupled to one another.

[Claim 11] The stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein a part or an entirety of the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces that form the annular shape is covered by mold resin.
[Claim 12] A method of manufacturing the stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 10, comprising:
a step of punching out, from a band-like electromagnetic steel sheet, the sequence of the electromagnetic steel sheet including the portions corresponding to the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the portions corresponding to the plurality of iron pieces, which are coupled to one another;
a step of laminating the electromagnetic steel sheets that are punched out;
a step of winding coils around the tooth portions of the plurality of magnetic pole piece under a state in which the laminated electromagnetic steel sheets are developed into a linear shape; and
a step of deforming the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces into the annular shape under a state in which the coils are wound.
[Claim 13] The method of manufacturing the stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 12, wherein the step of punching out comprises a step of punching out, from the band-like

electromagnetic steel sheet, two sequences of electromagnetic steel sheets arranged so as to be opposed to each other.
[Claim 14] The method of manufacturing the stator for a rotary electric machine according to claim 12 or 13,
wherein the stator includes an insulator configured to cover the tooth portion of the magnetic pole piece and at least a part of the inner peripheral face of the iron piece adjacent to the magnetic pole piece,
wherein the step of winding comprises a step of winding a coil through intermediation of the insulator, and
wherein the step of deforming comprises a step of bending the insulator.
[Claim 15] The method of manufacturing the stator for a rotary electric machine according to any one of claims 12 to 14, further comprising a step of covering, by mold resin, a part or an entirety of the plurality of magnetic pole pieces and the plurality of iron pieces that form the annular shape.
