Abstract: This rotor (10) for an electric motor is connected to a shaft member (40) and rotates about a central axis (AX). Said rotor (10) is provided with a shaft hole (13) and a plurality of channels (50). At least part of the shaft member (40) which also rotates about the central axis (AX) is disposed inside the shaft hole (13) and the channels (50) which are laid out around the shaft member (40) each pass through the rotor (10) in a direction parallel to the central axis (AX). The inside surface of each channel (50) comprises a first surface (51) that faces the radial exterior of the shaft member (40) a second surface (52) that is located radially outwards of said first surface (51) and is opposite said first surface (51) across a gap a third surface (53) that connects one end of the first surface (51) in the direction of the rotation about the central axis (AX) to one end of the second surface (52) in said direction and a fourth surface (54) that connects the other end of the first surface (51) in said direction of rotation to the other end of the second surface (52) in said direction. The distance (C) between the one end of the first surface (51) and the other end of the first surface (51) and the distance (D) between the one end of the second surface (52) and the other end of the second surface (52) satisfy the relation C < D.
