Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an opening and closing of coupling arrangement. More particularly, the present invention relates to an improved device of coupling and de-coupling mechanism of Railway Wagons.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to an opening and closing of coupling arrangement. More particularly, the present invention relates to an improved device of coupling and de-coupling mechanism of Railway Wagons.
BACK GROUND OF THE INVENTION
The equipment moves on rail are called rolling stock like Wagons, Locomotives, Loco Cranes, Hot Metal and Slag dump Cars. For joining two adjacent rolling stocks to form a train by adapting various types of coupling means. For shunting of these rolling stocks at railway yard coupling and De-coupling are exercised by operating a pull rod attachment from outside. A pull rod engaged in coupling and De-coupling of rolling stock having 'L' Shape, and hanging from a support of under frame. One end of the rod is free end and the other end of the pull rod is attached with a lever situated at the bottom of coupling means. A force is exerted on the free end of the Rod by an operator for de-coupling. In order to exert force, the operator first of all has to bend physically, next holds the rod and finally 'the
operator exerts force. This positional adversity causes the operator to suffer from lumber (lumber 2,3,4,5) pain after long period of working. This lumber pain which in turn paralyze the bottom organs of hip joint and the operator lost his workability.
To overcome such adversity and to save human resources, an emphasize is made to develop an improve device for coupling and de-coupling of rolling stock in the present invention keeping an eye on Ergonomically favourable.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore, an objective of the present invention to propose an improved device of coupling and de-coupling of rolling railway stocks, which eliminates the adversity of the prior Art.
Another object of the present invention is to propose an improved device of coupling and de-coupling of railway rolling stocks, which is easier to operate.
A further object of the present invention is to propose an improved device of coupling aid de-coupling of railway rolling stocks in which the person need not bend himself to operate the pull rod.
A still further object of the present invention is to propose an improved device of coupling and de-coupling of railway rolling stocks in which coupling and de-coupling is possible in one stroke only.
An yet further object of the present invention is to propose an improved device of coupling and de-coupling of railway rolling stocks which is Ergonomically favourable and more safety.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In the present invention, the improved device for coupling and de-coupling arrangement comprising a long steel rod having inverted 'L' Shape attached to the under frame of the railway rolling stock by a
plurality of supports disposed at an average manheight to facilitate
the workability of the operator. One end of the rod is free from where the operator pulls towards his body. The other end of the rod
provided with a hinge in which first end of a flexible steel ring chain
is fastened and second end of a flexible steel ring chain is connected to a lock. The lock slides up and down over the plane surface of a knuckle to perform locking and unlocking of knuckle movement. The knuckle is fastened with a coupler body by means of steel pin. To join one rolling stock with adjacent another rolling stock, the knuckle of the two roiling stocks come closer from opponent side and hold each other and completes coupling arrangement. For de-coupling of the two rolling stocks, the operator pulls the pull rod, which allows
clockwise rotation of rod pulls the flexible steel ring chain upward direction, which in turn pulls the lock from the knuckle for de-

DETAILS DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
OF THE INVENTION
The improved device (1) comprising a long inverted 'L’ Shape having one end (2) is free for pulling by the operator towards his body direction. The central part (3) of the rod is supported by a plurality of supports (4,5) from the structure of the rolling stock through which the central part (3) can able to rotate. At the end a small part of the rod (6) is attached to a hinge (7) wherein one end (8) of a flexible steel ring claim (9) is connected. The second end (10) of the flexible steel ring chain (9) is directly connected with a lock (11) which slides upward direction and displaces form plane surface (12) of a knuckle (13) for de-coupling. The unlocked knuckle moves right and. left form a hinge (14) mounted by a steel pin (15) embedded on a coupler body (16), the lock (11) slides inside the
plane surface of the knuckle (13) by pushing rod (1) outward via a flexible steel ring chain (9),
