, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to the field of computer graphics, and more specifically, to a method and system for safety training in construction using augmented reality technology.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Construction site safety is one of the most overlooked things during a construction project. In most workplaces, accidents are a nuisance for the worker and a headache for HR. However, at construction sites, accidents have the potential to be life-threatening. As the population grows and demands new, updated structures increases still construction site become less appealing due to environmental disasters, earth-shattering explosions, and trapped laborers.
One of the most dangerous professions is Construction work. And work on the job site is where most accidents occur. Workers need to keep in mind a lot of precautions themselves when working in such hazardous conditions.
There are some resources which help businesses to train their new laborers on standard safety and security practices, including pamphlets, worksheets, training videos, and even on-site training opportunities.
Experienced workers should be expected to refresh their knowledge of standard safety by attending regular training sessions throughout the year.
An environment of construction where injuries and fatalities are highly likely, training is necessary and will prevent things like workplace injuries.
The safety training is time consuming. The solution for this is the present invention.
By using augmented reality technology safety training can be done. And which provide intuitive learning to workers and help to improve their awareness of safety.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, safety training in construction using augmented reality technology.
Another object of the invention is, AR (augmented reality) enabled devices are needed (such as smart phone with high definition, AR headset).
Another object of the invention is, it lowers the cost of training.
Another object of the invention is, it reduces time spent on training.
Other object of the invention is, due to virtual drills workers can know better.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the Safety training in construction using augmented reality technology. The system and method comprising of:
Any machine which is used in construction site, would be focused with AR enabled device such as smart phone, tab or AR headset, AR smart glass. The sensor on AR device senses the machine and information and video about that particular machine would be show to the user/ worker.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the safety training in construction using augmented reality technology.
The present invention system is comprising of contents such as;
Databases – contains data of various machines and risk factor
Any AR enabled device such as smart phone or tab or smart glass
Databases stored data about machine used in construction site, how that machine works, what safety rules should be followed.
The present invention implemented in a combination of both hardware and software.
The present invention system is comprising of;
Step 1) The all data from databases is inputted to application
Step 2) The user opens the application of project planning
(or in case of AR smart glass, user just wear smart glass)
Step 3) Focused the AR device on particular machine
Step 4) AR Device sense the machine
Step 5) And send sensor data to the application
Step 6) At backend senses data is search in database
Step 7) Resulted data and video related to that machine is sent to AR device
Step 8) User can understand all the information of machine
Step 9) All the video of operation of machine and safety training related to that machine would seen to user on AR device
This is general overview of system. System is not bounded to this only.
Safety training for construction site is very important. It not only affects the work but also affect life of worker. Ideally, the safety training is given to each and every worker before actual work start. But due to ignorance and time problems the worker and employer avoid the safety training because it is time consuming.
Without the proper training, construction workers can be easily injured or even killed. In such an environment where injuries and fatalities are highly likely, training is necessary and will prevent things like workplace injuries that will hurt you ethically and economically
With the present invention construction team can give the real time safety training to worker and employee for particular machine focused with AR (Augmented Reality) device.
As safety is a major concern in the construction industry, the AR headset helps to stimulate equipment training and hazard scenarios for educating workers. Using an AR headset would lower training costs and downtime. This is a kind of direct learning which helps to provide intuitive learning to workers and help to improve their awareness of safety.
With the help of an AR headset, workers can be shown virtual drills, instruction, and safety scenarios. This style of direct learning not only improves their awareness of safety and provides intuitive training, but lowers training costs and downtime.
Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer-generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance the user's real-world experience.
By the coming year Augmented Reality definitely be major part of construction sector.
