"Safety Valve For Aircraft Fuel Tank"
Abstract: A Safety valve, spring loaded one way valve designed for usage in aircraft fuel tank. It comp.rises of Valve (2) and lever sub assembly, loaded by spring (13, 14) and housed in Body (1 ). Body (1) has eight holes with self locking insert (.23) to facilitate mounting of the safety valve (29). Ouring mounting on tank, Valve (2) in closed position, fuel leakage ·from the tank to atmosphere is prevented by Seal ring (3). During pressure refuelling, pressure on fuel ·surface will start to increase above atmospheric pressure in the event of failure of vent or refueling system. On reaching beyond setcracking pressure safety valve opens and dumps fuel to ambient to avoid bursting of fuel tank.
