THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES AND ASCERTAINS THE NATURE OF THIS INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED
FIELD OF INVENTION:-
Invention relates to a modified screw jack and packaging in auto vehicle In a compact vehicles because of space constraint, it is difficult to package bottle type Screw Jack and Tool Kit. To tackle this issue the packaging is done in D-Pillar Cross Member below the rear floor.
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION AND PRIOR ART:-
The screw jack of the invention is folded wing screw jack. With a latest trend of compactness in vehicle design, component packaging is bringing new challenges in the available limited space without compromising the utility space to customer. The screw jack of the invention has jacking bracket folded on the structure itself so as to save the overall packaging space. The folded bracket can be unfolded only in the event of application. This will reduce the overall height of the Jack and therefore the space requirement for its packaging.
OBJECT OF INVENTION:-
It is an object invention to provide, in auto vehicle, a modified screw jack with
packaging for space saving.
It is another object of invention to provide a modified screw jack packaging in
the cross member of D-pillar of the auto vehicle with removable opening lid
provided with locking system with scuff plate.
It is another object of invention to provide in auto vehicle a modified screw
jack packaging with associated tools.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION:-

DESCRIPTION:-
Referring to figures 1 to 3 show a modified s crew jack which makes compact and space saving for packaging in auto vehicles. The a modified screw jack
is of folded wing having jacking bracket folded on the structure of the said jack to be packaged in the cross member of D- pillar, the said jacking brackets comprises a pair of U- section members hinged to the top hinged structures of said jack in juxtaposition in such that in folded position members align with the said top structures and in unfolded position the said bracket in vertical state forms rectangular cross section, the said jacking brackets comprises a pair of U- section members hinged to the top hinged structures of said jack in juxtaposition in such that in folded position members align with the said top structures and in unfolded position the said bracket in vertical state forms rectangular cross section.
Referring to figure 4 D-pillar cross member is shown with a cut out to package the screw jack. The said a cutout is made on the rear floor for the access. The cutout is closed from top by Scuff Plate which is mounted on the rear Floor and it is having removable lid. As shown in figure 8.
In figure 5 the D- pillar cross shown having a cut to accommodate a foldable screw jack provided with a removable lid of plastic scuff plate. The screw jack is accessible after removing lid.
Referring to figure 6, for screw jack and the associated tool kit, EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) foam is inserted inside the D-Pillar Cross Member. It has cavities according to the shape of Screw Jack and Tool Kit for packaging. For removing the Screw Jack and Tool Kit, the user has to first open the lid in Scuff Plate by rotating the knobs provided. After opening the lid, the screw jack and tool kit will be visible to the customer, which can be removed just by bare hands. After the work is over the similar procedure should be repeated in the reverse way to put the things back into the packaging envelope. The tool Kit elements are Screw Driver, Spanner, Wheel Spanner, Toe Hook and Tommy Bar.
The figure 8 , which is the sectional view of figure 7 at section line A-A, shows details of scuff plate with mounting clips , removable plastic lid
Since the pacKaging in D-pillar cross member did not utilize any of the customer usage space, therefore this could very well impart customer delight, Clean looking interiors to the customer; Good ergonomics for accessing and easy removal of Screw Jack & Tool Kit after opening of Tail Gate. Thus the use of available unused space in the D Pillar Cross Member is cleverly made to package the screw jack and the tool kit.
The figure 9 is a sectional view across sectional line B-B in figure 7 showing the packaged screw jack , the said foam and cover for screw jack at bottom of the said D-pillar cross member.
Figure 10 , a sectional view of figure 7 across section line C-C, shows the packaged screw jack in the opening of the D-pillar cross member with details of package of screw jack with foam, cover crew at bottom ,scuff plate with rotating knob for removing plastic lid.
The Figure 12 shows panel extension rear floor left hand side and panel extension rear floor right hand side of the rear floor.
The figure 13 shows the details of panel extensions left hand side and right hand side bolted joint with quarter inner of D-pillar, wheel house inner, and rear floor D-pillar.
Figure 11, a sectional view of figure 7 across section line D-D showing the cavity of foam formed for packaging screw jack and tools, scuff plate with locking lever of removable lid.
The design of Panel Extension Rear Floor on right hand side and left hand side is made removable to make access for BIW rework in Body Shop. Sometimes nut slippage problem is observed in weld nuts on Hinge Reinforcement Lower. Once the Panel Extension Rear Floor is removed the replacement of weld nuts will be very easy. If problem of nut slippage is observed during mounting of Tail Gate, then it can be rectified first and then Panel Extension Rear Floor will be bolted on the BIW. This will save the time
of rework. On Top portion of Panel Extension Rear Floor there are 2 mountings No. 1 & 2 through which M6 bolts will be fitted on weld nuts provided on Extension Quarter Inner D-Pillar. Mounting Nos. 3 & 4 are provided on Extension Wheel House Inner with M6 weld nuts. With Mounting Nos. 5, 6 & 7; Panel Extension Rear Floor will be mounted on M6 weld nuts provided on Rear Floor. Panel Extension Rear Floor will be bolted with BIW at the end of the Body Main Line and spot welds at the sealing flange of Panel Extension Rear Floor will be taken with D Pillar Cross Member Assembly. During servicing, Body Mount can be accessed just by removing the Scuff Plate (Plastic part fitted above the floor) & then Panel Extension Rear Floor by loosening the bolts & salvaging the spot welds on the sealing face.
