Abstract: The present invention provides a secondary battery comprising: an electrode assembly provided with a first electrode tab and a second electrode tab; a battery can which has an opening for accommodating the electrode assembly and is electrically connected to the second electrode tab; a top cap which covers the opening of the battery can and is electrically connected to the first electrode tab; a conductive washer which is electrically connected to the battery can and contacts at least a portion of the circumference of the opening; and an insulating member which is provided between the battery can and the conductive washer electrically connected to the battery can and the top cap, and electrically connects at least one of the battery can or the conductive washer to the top cap. The top cap includes a first surface and a second surface which are opposite each other. The first surface faces the electrode assembly and is electrically connected to the first electrode tab, and the second surface has a protrusion which is exposed through a hole formed in a central portion of the conductive washer.
