Abstract: This invented novel scraper is completely redesigned with respect to known machines in the markets and the technical problems associated with such machines are overcome. Further, the invented machine has several benefits incorporated for safe and fast operation. A Semi Automatic coconut scraper, wherein the coconut is held by the machine and rotates without any run out in the shell. It automatically centered by the locating bush (25) and three holding Jaws (7) A scraper blade fitted in the sliding arrangement (16) moves forward and scrapes the coconut as a whole without any remains in the shell. A round vessel (15) fixed in front of the machine will prevent the flying of coconut flakes and collects at the bottom portion in the collection vessel (23) through a chute (21). A small horse power motor will give the drive to the centre shaft to rotate the coconut shell at the desired speed for faster production.
A Semi Automatic coconut scraper, the said machine is consists of a rotating plate, wherein, three 'L' shaped levers with Jaws are hinged at 120° apart each to hold the coconut. These three levers will contract and expand due to the 'to' and 'fro' movement of conical bush which is mounted on the centre shaft will move by the force of compression spring. At one end of the centre shaft, the rotating plate is fixed along with locating bush for locating the coconut when it places there. This coconut is held by the three levers with Jaws in tight position due to spring force. The conical bush will move freely in the centre shaft and will expand or contract the levers according to the coconut size. This centre shaft is mounted in the bearing housing and will rotate freely with the help of driven pulley fixed on the other side. This centre shaft is driven by the motor with the help of 'V belt through pulleys. The 'to' and 'fro' movement of conical bush is achieved by the lever hinged at the top portion of the conical bush through a pin. This pin is guided in the grooves of conical bush and moves the conical bush 'to' and 'fro' according to the movement of lever. This lever pushes the conical bush against the spring load and expands the coconut holding Jaws and contracts the same when the lever is released to the left side. For holding the coconut, the lever has to be pushed right side and this will expands the jaws, now the half cut coconut to be kept at the locating bush of the rotating plate and lever to be released to the left side, because of spring force, conical bush pushed forward and the lever Jaws will hold the coconut shell in place firmly. For scraping this coconut shell, a scraper (saw toothed blades) with tongue is mounted in such a way that, it will move 'front' and 'back' in the sliding arrangement. This coconut scraper tongue is again hinged in the square rod at both ends in order to move up and down movement to scrape the whole coconut without any remains in the shell. The sliding arrangement is bolted to the main frame of the machine at two ends as shown in fig-1. A SS vessel is attached in front of the coconut holding jaws to avoid the flying of coconut flakes during scarping.
This vessel will collect all the flakes and it will be transfered to the bag or collection vessel through the chute provided in the vessel. The whole machine is covered by a SS sheet for safety and to give an aesthetic look.
