Abstract: Disclosed is a machine for manufacturing sanitary pads comprising: a pulveriser unit for pulverising pulp or cotton being used in the sanitary pad, a power pressing unit for providing reasonable force to press the sanitary pad, a sealing unit to seal the pulp or cotton in a fabric being used in the sanitary pad, an adhesive application unit to apply adhesive material on back side of the sanitary pad to close the sanitary pad, and an ultraviolet sterilizing unit for sterilizing the sanitary pads. The machine of present invention enables production of the sanitary pads in an economic way. Further, since all the units of the machine are separate, even in case of failure of any of the unit, the production work goes on as the other units are still working. This feature increases the production efficiency of the sanitary pads. (Fig. 1)
FIELD OF INVENTION:
The invention relates to manufacturing of sanitary napkins products. More particularly it relates to a machine for manufacturing sanitary napkins and pads.
PRIOR ART:
Sanitary pad, which is also known as sanitary napkin is menstrual pad, is a thin pad made of absorbent material that absorbs the menstrual fluid during menstruation. Some sanitary pads are disposable and are meant for single use only. Most sanitary pads available in the market are disposable ones. Reusable sanitary pads are mostly cloth pads that can be washed, dried and reused over a number of times. Sanitary pads come in different shapes and sizes, with different capacity to absorb for days of heavy and light menstrual bleeding.
Sanitary napkins are generally unavailable in rural areas of the country and if available, they are too expensive for rural households to afford. Over the last twenty years, the sanitary pad industry has advanced by leaps and bounds. Gone are the days of bulky belts and diaper-like thickness. With the invention of more absorbent materials and better designs, pads are more comfortable and practical than ever. Sanitary pads are the most widely used form of menstrual management, but they are still overpriced, particularly in developing countries.
Many sanitary napkin manufacturing machines are available in market. But, such machines are suffering from at least one of the following disadvantages: i. They are costly, which leads to increase in the cost of sanitary napkin.
ii. Since all activities required for manufacturing the sanitary napkins are carried out by single machine, if any part of machine get damaged, the whole machine stops working.
iii. Skilled manpower required for operating the machine.
iv. Maintenance cost of the machines is very high.
In view of above, there is a need to develop a new kind of technology for sanitary napkin manufacturing which will be devoid of all aforementioned disadvantages.
