Separator For Electrochemical Device And Electrochemical Device Comprising Same

Abstract: The separator according to the present invention comprises a separator substrate and an inorganic coating layer disposed on at least one side of the substrate, wherein the separator substrate has a concave-patterned portions, formed by a pattern of recesses, applied only to outer perimeter portions thereof. Such features of the separator according to the present invention ensures a high binding strength between the separator substrate and the inorganic coating layer and can also exhibit excellent resistance characteristics. In addition, an electrochemical device comprising the separator according to the present invention may have the effect of preventing lithium plating by arranging the concave-patterned portion in the outer circumferential end portion of the separator to overlap a tab portion of an electrode when applying the separator to an electrode assembly.
