"Shake Agitator For Electroplating Of Watch Hands"

Abstract: The present invention relates to a shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands. The agitator is used in electroplating process to provide necessary movements to the target objects that is held inside the electrolyte. Agitator is capable of providing movements in vertical direction and also can provide necessary rotating angle to accomplish the perfect electroplating process. To maintain consistent finish and thickness in plaiting we use customized agitator for watch hands. The watch hands are placed in a basket which is thin fixed on the basket holder in the agitator.

The present invention relates to the field of watches hands manufacturing. More particularly, the present invention relates to a shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

An oscillating plating liquid agitator comprises a plating liquid storage tank, a suction pipe, a discharge pipe, a work piece holder, a holder insertion part, and a vibrating motor. The suction pipe inhales plating liquid by a cyclic motor. The discharge pipe with a plurality of discharge holes discharges the inhaled plating liquid to the plating liquid storage tank. The holder insertion part is formed larger than the diameter of a holder so that the holder can be inserted to the holder insertion part and move vertically or horizontally.

[015] Publication No. JPH02232564 relates to a higher corrosion resistance by covering the surface of a chromium plated layer formed on the surface of a permalloy sphere with a resin cover to prevent the peeling of the resin during an agitation. A chromium plated layer with a specified thickness is formed by an electric plating method on the surface of a sphere with a diameter of about 2mm using a permalloy as Ni-Fe soft magnetic alloy and moreover, the surface of the chromium plates layer is covered with various resins by a barrel plating. Here, the covering with the various resin covers and the drying thereof are repeated five times

to form a sphere having a cover layer with a specified thickness finally. There is no peeling of the cover layer in the sphere even when it is agitated applying 10 cycle per second of mechanical vibration inaO.lmol.
[016] Publication No. KR20120053115 relates to a powder agitator for electroplating a vehicle to prevent the occurrence of un-predicted results by previously confirming the generating process of a powder mixture. A powder agitator for electroplating includes a housing, a power transferring part, a rotary shaft, a covering part, a bearing, an impeller, and an outlet. The power transferring part is positioned on the upper side of the housing. The covering part is positioned on the upper side of the housing to connect the inner part and the outer part of the housing. The covering part introduces moisture and powder into the housing. The bearing relatively rotates the rotary shaft about the housing. The impeller is combined with the end part of the rotary shaft.
[017] Publication No. KR20120024285 relates to an agitator and a plating device comprising the same are provided to circulate solution in a container by sending the solution to the side of an impeller structure. An agitator comprises a container, a rotating shaft, and an impeller structure. The container stores solution. The rotating shaft is rotatably held in the container. The impeller structure is arranged in the container and coupled to the rotating shaft. The impeller structure comprises a first impeller, a second impeller, and a partition. The second impeller is coupled to the lower part of the first impeller. The partition separates the first impeller from the second impeller. The first impeller comprises first blades and a first connecting board.
[018] Publication No. US2012199475 relates to a substrate or semiconductor wafer processing apparatus has an agitator plate adjacent to an upper end of a process vessel. A workpiece holder holds a workpiece in the vessel at a processing position above the agitator plate. A vertical actuator assembly supporting the agitator plate oscillates the agitator plate vertically. The agitator plate may also rotate while

oscillating vertically. In one design, the agitator plate has a spiral vane and a spiral slot. In a related metal plating apparatus, electrodes and a dielectric field shaping unit are in the vessel, below the agitator plate, and a shield ring is adjacent to the upper end of the vessel, above the agitator plate.
[019] Publication No. KR101560977 relates to an apparatus and a method of plating to remove gas generated in a plating bath. The apparatus comprises: a plating bath wherein plating fluid is filled, is installed to connect an object to be plated in a plating fluid, and is installed to connect a biterminal to an anode; an ultrasonic oscillator installed to the plating bath to apply a vibration to the plating fluid in the plating bath; an agitator installed to agitate the plating fluid in the plating bath; and a lifting guide installed to be located on a lower part of the agitator, guiding the plating fluid agitated by the agitator. According to the present invention, air bubbles can quickly be removed by applying a fine vibration to the plating fluid, and a composition ratio of the plating fluid at the same time can uniformly be maintained by efficient agitation of the plating fluid.
[020] Thus the above listed prior art, agitation is done by only rotation and entire plating bath is rotated or spherical stirrer used for stirring. Also watch hands plating is done manually. This consist the usage of a basket containing watch hands and shaking it manually for specified time. Since the process is manual inconsistent plating finish, plating thickness variation form hands to hands and no repeatability in process are common issues. Thus to maintain consistent finish and thickness in plating there is a need of customized agitator for watch hands.
[021] Present invention aims to provide a shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands. The agitator is used in electroplating Process to provide necessary movements to the target objects that is held inside the electrolyte

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[022] The principal object of the present invention is to provide a shake agitator along with rotary movement for electroplating of watch hands.
[023] Another object of the present invention is to provide agitator used in electroplating process to provide necessary movements to the target objects that is held inside the electrolyte
[024] Yet another object of the present invention is to maintain consistent finish and thickness in plating.
[025] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a programmable shaker agitator for watch hands to save time for the operator during production.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[026] Present invention relates to a shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands. The agitator is used in electroplating process to provide necessaiy movements to the target objects that is held inside the electrolyte. Agitator is capable of providing movements in vertical direction and also can provide necessary rotating angle to accomplish the perfect electroplating process. To maintain consistent finish and thickness in plaiting we use customized agitator for watch hands. The watch hands are placed in a basket which is then fixed on the basket holder in the agitator.

[028] Figure 1 and 2 shows a shake agitator according to the present invention for
electroplating of watch hands.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTIONS
[029] Accordingly, the present invention relates to a shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands. The agitator is used in electroplating process to provide necessary movements to the target objects that is held inside the electrolyte. Agitator is capable of providing movements in vertical direction and also can provide necessary rotating angle to accomplish the perfect electroplating process. To maintain consistent finish and thickness in plaiting we use customized agitator for watch hands. The watch hands are placed in a basket which is thin fixed on the basket holder in the agitator.
[030] Referring to the figure 1 and 2, the shake agitator according to the present invention for electroplating of watch hands is in the form of a box housing (11) enclosing all the electrical and mechanical devices. It contains all electrical components and mechanical movement for agitation. The casing of the machine is made of Stain less steel with Poly urethane coating. Inside of this contains the required PCB boards and agitation assembly. A basket holder attachment which is connected the agitation motor by the use of linear bearing. Agitation movement is created by the combination of a DC Geared with booster for rotary movement, and vertical movement is done by using a solenoid which when actuated moves up and down.
[031] The basket holder which is connected to a shaft has pulley and the other end of the shaft is connected to a solenoid. The shaft is fixed on to the assembly using linear bearing. The solenoid makes this assembly move up and down. The pulley which is on the shaft is connected using a belt to another pulley which is mounted on to a DC geared motor with booster. So when the motor rotates the same motion is transfer on the basket holding shaft thus it rotates and the solenoid makes the assembly move up and down simultaneously.

[032] Mounting 12 helps to assemble between cross hanging beam form from the plating baths and agitator machine. Tt is made of Stain less steel and cushioned by rubber pads
[033] Front Panel 13 consists of operating functions keys, Start stop buttons 13A, and power button 13B, running time indicator, pause button 13C, navigation 13D, alarm button, alarm indicator 13E and LCD display.
[034] Basket holder 14 holds the hands basket, which attached to agitator shaft The LCD Screen 15 on the front of Agitator displays the following information Shaker hold up time , Shaker hold down time , Shaker pause time, Shaker count, RPM, Angle of rotation, Alarm time, LED light ON/ OFF
[035] All the electrical and mechanical devices are enclosed in box housing. The motor with agitating mechanism is fixed at the bottom. The top of the machine is fixed with a coupling to clamp the agitator to the plating bath. The front of the machine has all the function keys and program selection keys. The machine has a LCD display for easy access. Each new program setting can be stored in the machine for different types of agitating requirement. The program can be easily retrieved and can be repeated by pressing start button during production. This saves time for the operator during production.
[036] The hands are fixed basket to the basket holder, switch on power button and select operating function on control panel (Fl, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, and F8) LED On/Off (F8) shows the status of LED light fitted on the bottom side of device. By default it is turned off. Pressing the LED button on the device will toggles the LED.
[037] Alarm time (F7) shows the alarm time, alarm time decreases on each second and enables the buzzer when the alarm time reaches zero

[038] Rotating Angle (F6) determines the degree of rotation of the holder. On reaching the specified angle of rotation, shaft changes its direction to opposite and rotates.
[039] Motor RPM (F5) so that user can set the motor speed of rotation by means of setting the RPM.
[040] Shake count (F4) The shaker completes one full cycle when it goes down and came to its normal position. This Shake count field indicates how many number of cycles for which the shaker to work continuously.
[041] Shake Pause time (F3) - By the completion of shake count that user given, then shaker remains in its default position for the Shake pause time specified. After that device again continues its shake operation for the mentioned shake count, shake hold up and shake hold down time
[042] Shaker Hold down time (F2) -This indicates how much time the cup holder is hold inside the electrolyte.
[043] Shaker Hold up time (Fl)- This field indicates how much time the cup holder is hold above the electrolyte level.
[044] Run time Indicates the time for which being the device is running. Automatically stops counting when the pause button pressed. When again the start button is pressed after device stopped, this field reset to zero.
[045] Once operating setting and time of operation is done save the setting, and press start button then hands basket starts to agitate, Once operation completed agitator turns off automatically, and stars the alarm. During the next cycle the operator can just press the start button to repeat the program.

[046] Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art and thus it is intended by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations which fall within the true spirit and scope of this invention.

WE CLAIM:

1. A shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands consists of the shake agitator for electroplating of watch hands is in the form of a box housing (11) enclosing all the electrical and mechanical devices, a basket holder attachment which is connected the agitation motor by the use of linear bearing, mounting 12, made of Stain less steel and cushioned by rubber pads, helps to assemble between cross hanging beam form from the plating baths and agitator machine, front panel 13 consists of operating functions keys, Start stop buttons 13 A, and power button 13B, running time indicator, pause button 13C, navigation 13D, alarm button, alarm indicator 13E and LCD display and the LCD screen 15 on the front of agitator displays the following information Shaker hold up time , Shaker hold down time , Shaker pause time, Shaker count, RPM, Angle of rotation, Alarm time, LED light ON/ OFF
2. The shake agitator as claimed in claim 1 wherein agitation movement is created by the combination of a DC Geared with booster for rotary movement, and vertical movement is done by using a solenoid which when actuated moves up and down.
3. The shake agitator as claimed in claim 1 wherein the angle of rotation, is 90°, 180°, 360°J0°.
4. The shake agitator as claimed in claim 1 wherein the casing of the machine is made of Stain less steel with Poly urethane coating. Inside of this contains the required PCB boards and agitation assembly.
