Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a system (100) for processing a gemstone (116). The system (100) comprises a laser source (102) to emit a laser beam (118), and a first bender (108) in-line with the laser source (102) to deflect the laser beam (118). Further, the system (100) comprises a focusing lens (114) disposed below the first bender (108) to receive a deflected laser beam (120). The system (100) further comprises a gemstone holder (104) disposed below the focusing lens (114) to receive a focused laser beam.

DESC:SHAPE CUTTING ,CLAIMS:1. A system (100) for processing a gemstone (116), comprising:
a laser source (102) to emit a laser beam (118);
a first bender (108), in-line with the laser source (102), to deflect the laser beam (118);
a focusing lens (114), disposed below the first bender (108), to receive a deflected laser beam (120); and
a gemstone holder (104), disposed below the focusing lens (114), to receive a focused laser beam, wherein the gemstone holder (104) is movable in X-direction and Y-direction while being rotated for processing the gemstone (116).
2. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the system (100) comprising an actuator (106) connected to the gemstone holder (116).
3. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the gemstone holder (104) comprises a spindle for accommodating the gemstone (116).
4. The system (100) as claimed in claim 3, wherein the spindle is connected to the actuator (106).
5. The system (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the actuator (106) is one of a servo motor and a stepper motor.
6. The system (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the actuator (106) is to move in X-Y plane while being rotated for processing the gemstone (116).
7. The system (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the actuator (106) is to continuously rotate the gemstone holder (104).
8. The system (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the actuator (106) is to rotate the gemstone holder (104) in parts.
9. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first bender (108) deflects the emitted laser beam (118) by an angle of 90º towards the focusing lens (114).
10. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the focusing lens (114) guides and focuses the laser beam (120) on to the spindle.
11. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, the system (100) comprising:
a second bender (110), positioned above the first bender (108), to receive and deflect a laser beam (122) emanating from the gemstone (116); and
an image capturing device (112), positioned perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the gemstone holder (104) and in-line with the second bender (110), to receive the laser beam deflected by the second bender (110), wherein the imaging capturing device (112) is to obtain a coaxial image of the gemstone (116) based on the received laser beam.
12. The system (100) as claimed in claim 11, wherein the laser beam (122) emanates from the gemstone (116) at an angle of 90º towards the imaging capturing device (112).
13. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the processing of the gemstone (116) comprising shape cutting of the gemstone (116).
14. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the processing of the gemstone (116) comprising faceting of the gemstone (116).
15. The system (100) as claimed in claim 14, wherein the faceting of the gemstone (116) comprising blocking procedure of the gemstone (116).
16. The system (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the laser beam (118, 120) is one of a collimated laser beam and an uncollimated laser beam
