Abstract: A display device for containing and displaying product is described. The display device has a display panel a display portion that has top portion having at least two cuts, a display portion and a bottom flap. The display device has a front panel comprising a top portion and a bottom flap and two side panels, wherein each side panel has a bottom flap, a top locking flap comprising a cut. The cuts of the display panel are configured to engage and lock with the cuts of the side panels when the display panel bent along a dotted lines to achieve a display position wherein the display portion and the top portion of the display panel provide a continuous display are. In yet another embodiment the, the side panels of the device has a plurality of cuts that advantageously facilitate a plurality of locking positions and corresponding display angles.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device, system and method for packaging and displaying retail goods. More particularly, the present invention a shelf-ready packaging and display device, system and method for configuring the same.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The product display systems and devices are designed for optimum utilization of valuable retail space. The graphics, brand identity, brand and product information is displayed prominently and most creatively on these display systems and devices. Display devices and systems are designed to save precious time, material and space from assembly to deployment on the retail space and also makes brand identification distinctly easier for a retail consumer. Modifications are made to shelf-ready devices or containers by retail employees at the retail space. These modifications including tearing off preconfigured perforations and folding preconfigured panels of the shelf-ready devices to deploy the shelf-ready device such that brand information, brand identity and product information is prominently displayed to retail consumers.
However, the prior art shelf-ready devices and systems are created from blanks wherein additional amount of packaging material is provided for creating a display panel. The additional amount of packaging material is provided taking into consideration factors, such as, for example, the size and the area of the display panel to be deployed. Further, these prior art shelf-ready devices and systems have a display that lacks a reinforcement in the form locking panels.
Therefore, there is a need for a shelf-ready device, system and method for erecting the same that provides an economically improved, optimized and easy to deploy display. Furthermore, more importantly, there is a need for a shelf-ready device, system and method for erecting the same wherein the display is constructed from the blank wherein no additional packaging material is not factored into the design. Further, it is desirable, to provide a shelf-ready device, system and method wherein the display is reinforced with extra locking panels. Furthermore, there is a need for a shelf-ready device, system and method for erecting the same wherein the display panel has a plurality of locking positions with corresponding plurality of display angles.
This background information is provided to reveal information believed by the applicant to be of possible relevance to the present invention. No admission is necessarily intended, nor should be construed, that any of the preceding information constitutes prior art against the present invention.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A display device for containing and displaying product is described. The display device has a display panel a display portion that has top portion having at least two cuts, a display portion and a bottom flap. The display device has a front panel comprising a top portion and a bottom flap and two side panels, wherein each side panel has a bottom flap, a top locking flap comprising a cut. The cuts of the display panel are configured to engage and lock with the cuts of the side panels when the display panel bent along a dotted lines to achieve a display position wherein the display portion and the top portion of the display panel provide a continuous display are. In yet another embodiment the, the side panels of the device has a plurality of cuts that advantageously facilitate a plurality of locking positions and corresponding display angles.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
One object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that is adapted to provide an arrangement among the side panels, front panels and the display panel to achieve an integrated branding area on the pack.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that is adapted to provide an arrangement among the side panels, front panels and the display panel to achieve an increase in the branding area on the pack.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that has side panels are connected with the top panel via collar flap to advantageously provides a tamper proof arrangement against pilferage, such as, for example, by inserting fingers.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that has side panels are connected with the top panel via collar flap to advantageously provides a tamper proof arrangement against pilferage, such as, for example, by inserting fingers.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that has an arrangement of a plurality of dotted lines with a plurality of pair of cuts that advantageously facilitates a plurality of locking positions and display angles.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide a shelf ready display device or pack that facilitates easy removal of the front panel without sacrificing the stability of the structure by having locking positions that keep the opposite side panels, and therefore, the entire structure, stable.
Other advantages and objects of the invention will become apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein is set forth by way of illustration and example an embodiment of the present invention.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
A display device having a display panel having a plurality of cuts that engage and lock with a plurality cuts of side panels to provide a continuous display area and a plurality of locking positions.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Referring to FIG. 1, a blank 100 used for the construction of a shelf ready pack, a device for packaging, containing and displaying products in accordance with the present invention, is illustrated. Foldable substrates, such as, for example paper-based material which includes materials such as corrugated sheet material and/or paperboard is preferably used for the blanks. However, other materials, such as, for example, recycled materials, single play and/or laminated paperboard, coated and uncoated materials, which are foldable may be used.
Within the borders of the blank 100, a plurality of dotted lines are used to indicate perforation lines and fold lines F1-F10. It is stated, however, that dotted lines to indicate perforation lines or cut lines are shown in illustrations where expression of such an indication is most relevant and important. These lines may appear as solid lines where expression of such an indication is not relevant.
As shown in FIGS.1 and 2, the blank 100 includes a first side panel 50, a display panel 52, a second side panel 54, and a front panel 56. The first and second side panels 50, 52 both include a locking flap 58, and a side bottom flap 60 each. Each bottom flap 60 has glue portion. The glue portion 59 of panel 50 is separated by dotted line F1 from the rest of the bottom flap 60. Similarly, the glue portion of panel 59 of the panel 54 is separated by dotted line F2 from the rest of the bottom flap 60.The first side panel includes a first side portion 62 and the second side panel has a second portion 64.
The display panel 52 includes a top portion 65, a middle portion 66 and a bottom flap
69. The panels 50, 52, 54, 56 are foldable substrates. The locking flaps 58 of the panel 50 and 54 have a lock portions 68. The lock portion 68 of locking flap 58 of the panel 52 is formed between area that is formed between dotted line F6 on the locking flap 58 and dotted line F7 that forms a common boundary between panel 52 and panel 50. The dotted line F6 is adjacent to a locking cut C1.The lock portion 68 of locking flap 58 of the panel 56 is formed between area that is formed between dotted line F8 on the locking flap 58 and dotted line F9 that that forms a common boundary between panel 52 and panel 54. The dotted line F8 is adjacent to a locking cut C2. The cuts C1 and C2 engage with the cuts C3 and C4 of the top portion 65 of the panel 52 in a display position.
The front panel 56 has a front panel portion 72 and a rear bottom flap 71. The front panel engages with a closing flap 74 of the panel 50 in a closed position.
Referring to FIGS. 2-6, a process of construction of the new improved shelf ready pack from the blank 100 is explained. The bottom flap 71 of the panel 56, the bottom flaps 60 of the panels 50 and 54 and the bottom flap 69 of the panel 52 are folded along the dotted line F3. When the flaps are 71, 69 and 60 are folded the glue circles of the flaps 60 are become visible. The glue circles 75 have adhesive material. The glue circles fixed attach the flaps 60 to the flaps 71 and 69 of the adjacent panels 54 and 56. The closing flap 74 of the panel 50 also has an adhesive strip 76. The adhesive strip fixed attaches the panel 50 to the panel 56.
The formed structured is erected by pressing in the direction of arrows A and B.
The panel 54 is bent downward by fold the flaps 58, 68 of the panels 50 and 54 along the dotted lines F6 and F8. The display panel 52 is folded along the dotted line F11 and a cut portion of the top portion 65 of the display panel 52 that has cuts C3 and C4 is inserted in the pack thus formed. Thus a closed position of the shelf ready pack is achieved.
Referring to FIGS 7-10, display position of the shelf ready pack is explained. The cut portion, that has cuts C3 and C4, of display panel 52 is withdrawn from inside the pack. The display panel 52 is bent along the dotted line F10. The display panel 52 is bent till cuts C3 and C4 of the display panel 52 reach the vicinity of the cuts C1 and C2 of the panels 50 and 54 respectively. The cut C3 of the display is engaged with the cut C1 of the panel 50 and the cut C4 is engaged with the cut C2 of the panel 54. The shelf ready pack is thus locked in a display position as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8. The display position as shown in FIG. 9 includes the top portion 65 and display portion 66 to provide an extensive and continuous display area. In this particular embodiment of the present invention, the shelf ready pack has one dotted line F10. However, in yet another embodiment, the shelf ready pack may have a plurality of dotted lines to bend the display panel 54, and a plurality of corresponding cuts to engage the panels 50 to facilitate a plurality of locking positions and display angles.
Referring to FIGS. 11 and 12, the shelf ready pack of the present invention that advantageously facilitates a plurality of locking positions and a plurality corresponding display angles in yet another embodiment is described. The display panel 52 of the shelf ready pack has in this particular embodiment has a plurality of dotted lines F10, F10a, F10b. The dotted lines F10, F10a, F10b advantageously facilitates the display panel 52 to be folded such that the cuts C3 and C4 of the cut portion are engaged with the corresponding pair of cuts on the side panels 50 and 54. The side panels 50 and 54, together present a plurality of pair of cuts C1 and C2, C1a and C2a, and C2b and C2b. When the display panel is folded along the dotted lines F10, the corresponding pair of cuts is C1 and C2. When the display panel is folded along the dotted lines F10a, the corresponding pair of cuts is Ca1 and C2a; and when the display panel is folded along the dotted lines F10b, the corresponding pair of cuts is C1b and C2b.
IN OPERATION:
The cut portion, that has cuts C3 and C4, of display panel 52 is withdrawn from inside the pack. The display panel 52 is bent along any one of the plurality of dotted lines F10, F10a and F10b. The display panel 52 is bent till cuts C3 and C4 of the display panel 52 reach and finally are engaged with corresponding pair of cuts panels 50 and 54 and the desired locking position and display angle is achieved. Thus, the arrangement of the plurality of dotted lines, F10, F10a and F10b with the plurality of pair of cuts C1 and C2, C1a and C2a, and C2b and C2b, advantageously facilitates a plurality of locking positions and display angles.
TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENT AND ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE:
1. A shelf ready display device or pack constructed in accordance with the present invention provides a more continuous and integrated branding area.
2. A shelf ready display device or pack constructed in accordance with the present invention provides a more stable structure in an open display position.
3. A shelf ready display device or pack constructed in accordance with the present invention provides a plurality of locking of positions and display angles.
4. A shelf ready display device or pack constructed in accordance with the present invention provides a tamper proof arrangement.
CLAIMS
We claim:
1. A shelf ready device and a pack for containing and displaying products comprising:
a display panel a display portion that has top portion having at least two cuts, a display portion and a bottom flap; a front panel comprising a top portion and a bottom flap; two side panels, each side panel comprising a bottom flap, a top locking flap comprising a cut; and the cuts of the display panel are configured to engage and lock with the cuts of the side panels when the display panel bent along a dotted lines to achieve a display position, wherein the display portion and the top portion of the display panel provide a continuous display area.
2. The shelf ready device and a pack for containing and displaying products of claim 1, wherein the display panel of the shelf ready pack has a plurality of dotted lines that advantageously facilitates the display panel to be bent at a plurality of positions and a plurality of pair of cuts on the side panels that are adapted to be engaged and locked with the cuts of the display to provide a plurality of locking positions and display angles.

The shelf ready device and a pack for containing and displaying products of claim 1, wherein the display panel of the shelf ready pack has a plurality of dotted lines that advantageously facilitates the display panel to be bent at a plurality of positions and a plurality of pair of cuts on the side panels that are adapted to be engaged and locked with the cuts of the display to provide a plurality of locking positions and display angles.
