Abstract: Title: “SHOOTEDGE® ADAPTER SYSTEM” 7. ABSTRACT A shoot edge firearm adapter system (1) includes a two-part body structure with a replaceable foldable butt stock (2), a rear stock (3), a fore stock (4), a bottom structure (5), a sensor block (6), a rear handle (7), a front handle (8), a spring-loaded trigger unit (9), a swivel trigger (12), and a safety locking mechanism with a stopper (11), a locking pin 913), and a locking point (14). The system has three similar target locking positions and enables the moment of the fore stock (4) towards movable degrees -65o, 0o, +65o. The system forms a four-bar mechanism and allows a user to swivel and lock the fore stock (4) accommodating the firearm (10) in at least one edge shooting position. The safety locking mechanism prevents the firer from firing when the fore stock (4) is in a free-moving position. The system's hinge placement decreases the cantilever of the fore stock (4) and helps decrease swaying during recoil, increasing firing accuracy. The figure associated with abstract is Fig 1.

Shoot Edge is a special purpose adapter for Firearms which aids in viewing and shooting about a corner without exposing the user to open areas. Various short comings of the prior arts have been identified and an improved adapter system is been proposed which rectifies a notable problems. In addition, improvements in the form factor, and performance parameters without compromising the functionality is also discussed.
The prior art patent WO2004015355A2 discloses a swivel assembly including a firearm support member adapted to support a firearm, a barrel attachment member pivotally assembled with the firearm support member, and a locking element moveable between a locked orientation and an unlocked orientation, wherein in the locked orientation the locking element prevents swiveling movement of the firearm support member with respect to the barrel attachment member, and wherein in the unlocked orientation the locking element permits swiveling movement of the firearm support member with respect to the barrel attachment member.
Another prior art patent US7552557B1 discloses a shoulder stock for a handgun comprising of a shoulder section, a handgun section, said handgun section pivot joined to said shoulder section, a hinge, said hinge positioned between said handgun section and said shoulder section a brace, said brace comprising an elongated section, a slotted section, and a handle, said elongated section having a first end and a second end, said first end connected to said shoulder section, and said second end directly connected to said slotted section and to said handle to couple said slotted section to said elongated section, said slotted section directly connected to said hinge, a trigger mechanism, said trigger mechanism connected to said shoulder section, said trigger mechanism comprising a magnetic connector, said magnetic connector attached to said handgun section.
Another prior art US10941997B2 discloses a corner shot firearm comprises one or more clamp, a trigger actuator, a front grip , an accessory trigger , a pivot stud and an aim control wheel . The clamp includes a first mounting point disposed at a front end of the clamp, wherein the first mounting point is configured to mount a secondary firearm. Additionally, the trigger actuator is connected to the first mounting point. The front grip is attached to a rear end of the clamp. The accessory trigger is connected to the front grip such that the accessory trigger is actuatable by a finger of the human hand holding the front grip. Additionally, the pivot stud is connected to the first point. Further, the aim control wheel is connected to the first mounting point.
Another prior art US11029109B2 discloses a variable length corner shooting assembly which comprises of an assembly includes a receiver body that includes a butt, a body trigger, a grip, and a display screen. A variable - length shaft extends from a front portion of the receiver body. A firearm receiver member is coupled to a distal end of the variable - length shaft by means of a coupling device, and a camera is in communication with, and is configured to send images to, the display screen.
The above mentioned prior arts disclose various shoot edge adapting devices which involve huge mechanism and are heavy in weight. This affects the actual performance and accuracy of the firearm. In order to meet the performance standards of the firearm used in conjunction with these adapters, and to reduce the overall weight, improvement in the mechanism should be adopted. Generally, the shoot edge firearm adapter systems performance depends on main components like the hinge and its placement, the swivel mechanism, the trigger mechanism and the butt stock. Also the performance depends on structure & geometry of the system, Centre of Gravity (C.G) shifting, the weight and on the number of parts.
The existing hinges were situated at the rear end of the fore stock. This causes not only the length of the system to increase but also the CG of the whole system to shift forward. This leads to high moments acting on the user making it hard to hold the system upright. Also, positioning the hinge at the rear causes the moment of inertia of the fore stock and the firearm to be higher, there by leading to high effort requirements to swivel it.
The swivel mechanism in the prior arts has several links and structural components forming multiple sliders and a slider crank mechanism to move the fore stock on either side by sliding the grip. The swivel mechanism occupies bottom part of the rear stock due to which the length of the system increases.
The trigger mechanism in the prior art systems, has multiple links and a firing cable used to transmit power to the firearm trigger. This mechanism runs from the trigger on the shoot edge to the trigger on the firearm hence making the lengths of the links very long. It is necessary to use metal links in this case as one of the links acts as a part of the safety mechanism and should be structurally strong. As the numbers of links are higher, they contribute a significant amount of weight to the system.
In order to meet the actual requirements and to achieve the accuracy in performance of the system, further to overcome the above mentioned drawbacks, a system overcoming all these short comings should be invented. The present invention discloses such improved shoot edge firearm adapter system and its working.
The present invention mainly proposes improvement to the existing systems in terms of hinge placement, the swivel mechanism, the trigger mechanism and the butt stock. Also focuses on structure & geometry, C.G shifting, weight and providing less number of parts.

5. The system (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the firearm (10) triggers act as the starting and ending links and are connected directly by the firing cable to reduce size and eliminate too many links.
6. The system (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the butt stock (2) geometry allows it to be folded under the system without occupying much space while still retaining its structural strength.
7. The system (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Center of Gravity (C.G) of the whole system (1) results in better balance of the firearm, leveraging easiness in holding the firearm (10) upright.
8. The system (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hinge placement decreases the cantilever of the fore stock (4) and its orientation helps in decreasing the swaying during recoil and increasing firing accuracy.
9. The system (1) of claim 1, wherein the safety locking eliminates long metallic links in the trigger mechanism to save space and increase the strength of the links.
10. A method of using the shoot edge firearm adapter system (1) as claimed in claim 1, comprising the steps of:
a. attaching the shoot edge firearm adapter system (1) to a firearm (10) such that the fore stock (4) of the adapter system (1) is hinged to the bottom structure (5) and the firearm (10) trigger unit (9) is aligned with the stopper (11);
b. adjusting the fore stock (4) to one of three similar target locking positions (16a, 16b, and 16c) by swiveling and locking it on the shaft (20) using the spring-loaded swivel trigger (12) and the spring-loaded locking unit (21);
c. activating the safety locking mechanism by moving the locking pin (13) into the locking point (14), which disallows firing when the fore stock (4) is in a free moving position;
d. firing the firearm (10) by pulling the trigger unit (9) with the fore stock (4) in a locked position on the shaft (20);
e. repeating steps b-d as necessary for different target locking positions;
f. detaching the shoot edge firearm adapter system (1) from the firearm (10) and folding the replaceable butt stock (2) for storage or transport.
