Abstract: A shroud assembly [80] for a gas turbine engine [10] includes a shroud [92], hanger [94], and a hanger support [96] mounted adjacent to a plurality of blades [68, 70]. The hanger [94] can have an interior chamber [102] defining a cooling circuit with a particle separator [88] located within the interior chamber [102]. The particle separator [88] can have an inlet [150] for accepting a flow of cooling fluid, such that a the flow of cooling fluid separates into a major flow [172] and a minor flow [174] carrying particles or particulate matter along the minor flow [174] into a particle collector [114] comprising at least a portion of the particle separator [88]. Particles become constrained to the minor flow [174] and pass into the particle collector [88], while the major flow [172] is separated into the remaining area of the interior chamber [102] to remove the particles from the flow of cooling fluid passing into the interior chamber [102].
