Abstract: Present invention is presenting a motorcycle having a side cover assembly with a top cover integrated with a bottom cover through multiple connecting brackets and fastening members. Mentioned bottom cover has arrangement to secure different arrangements such as brake housing and switch housing. It also has a cut out securing a foot rest assembly which is acting as a rigid support to the side cover assembly.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention generally relates to side cover assembly for a motorcycle and more particularly to side lower cover for side cover assembly for the motorcycle.
BACKGROUND
Generally, motorcycle consists of side cover assembly containing side upper cover and side lower cover, which is assembled with the frame by mounting means of rubber fasteners mounting.
Usually, side cover lock and brake switch are assembled with the frame by mounting metal brackets and fasteners which increases the manufacturing cost and time.
Thus there is a requirement for a better system in order to address above mentioned problems.
SUMMARY
The present invention provides a motorcycle having multiple side covers fixed on its left and right side. These side covers are fixed with the frame and covering frame and wiring structure as well as different components of the vehicle.
Said side cover has a upper part and a lower part fixed with each other through hooks and fastening brackets. Lower part of the side cover has a cut-out used to secure rider foot rest assembly which provides support to the side cover assembly. Upper part of the side cover is fixed with the frame through different screws and fastening members.
Further, upper part of said side cover has multiple supporting brackets used to secure different components such as battery lock housing or brake assembly etc.
This invention provides a single unit to hold different components in side cover itself which reduces effort and cost of fixing brackets in the vehicle frame and also reduces the complexity of the design.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawings which is incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is showing the enabling arrangement of the embodiments of the claimed invention.
Figure 2 is the illustrative view of the enabling arrangement of the embodiments of the claimed invention.
Figure 3 is showing the essential embodiments of the claimed invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that others skilled in the art may utilize their teachings. The invention may have application to all types of two wheeled vehicles. The scope of the invention is entirely based upon the claims provided.
Reference is made to Figure 1, which illustrates the enabling arrangement of the embodiments of the claimed invention. Side cover assembly has two parts i.e. side upper cover (102) and side lower cover (105) which are connected through inbuilt brackets (112) in the side lower cover (105). Said side cover assembly is mounted over the frame (101) through the bracket (107) provided in the side upper cover (102). Side lower cover (105) is having a cut-out (108) configured to hold the rider's foot rest (104). Said foot rest (104) is fixed with the frame (101) on one side and hence acts as a rigid support to the cover (102,105) on both sides of the vehicle. Mentioned side lower cover (105), as shown in figure 2 has three main embodiments viz. cut-out (108) for holding rider's foot rest (104), a primary bracket (109) for brake switch (110) housing and a secondary bracket (106) for securing side cover lock assembly. This secondary bracket also facilitates assembling side lower cover (105) with side upper cover (102). As shown in Figure 3, primary bracket (109 and the secondary bracket (106) are embedded in the side lower cover (105) and hence resulting less manufacturing cost and less assembly time for the vehicle.
The primary bracket (109) and the secondary bracket (106) are secured such that these are perpendicular to each other and the secondary bracket (106) is in same plane as of the side lower cover (105) and the primary bracket (109) is secured perpendicular to the direction of the side lower cover (105).
Said secondary bracket (106) is used for side cover assembly lock (not shown in figure) for the vehicle as well as a fastening means for upper (102) and lower cover (105).
Mentioned inclination and number of the primary (109) and secondary (106) brackets with respect to the upper and lower cover is variable as per vehicle requirement.
This invention provides a single unit to hold different components in side cover itself which reduces effort and cost of fixing brackets in the vehicle frame and also reduces the complexity of the design.
WHAT IS CLAIMED IS
1) A motorcycle having a side cover assembly comprising a top cover integrated with a bottom cover through a plurality of connecting brackets and a plurality of fastening members such that said bottom cover comprises at least one holding bracket and atleast one cut-out configured to secure a foot rest assembly configured to act as a rigid support to the side cover assembly.
2) The motorcycle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the holding bracket is defining atleast a primary bracket and atleast a secondary bracket.
3) The motorcycle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the primary bracket is supporting a brake assembly.
4) The motorcycle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the secondary bracket is supporting side lock housing.
5) The motorcycle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein inclination of primary and secondary bracket with respect to each other lies from 0 degree to 90 degree.
6) The motorcycle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the side cover assembly is secured on left and right cover of the vehicle.
