DESC:[001] The present disclosure generally relates to a single acting pneumatic piston cylinder system and method of manufacturing thereof. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to the single acting pneumatic piston cylinder system for IAD and differential lock actuation in hub reduction axle and method of manufacturing thereof.
[002] Currently piston cylinder is used for IAD and different lock actuation has functional limitations such as the IAD piston cylinder having Piston & Cylinder mounted on casing with hardware, thereby such system required air assisted actuation of differential lock to make the system operational.
[003] However, the limitation or drawback of such system that the system appears a complex in nature and costly appears. Also, it required regular maintenance in addition to longer assembly time. Hence there is a scope of improvement in the existing system to make cost-effective user-friendly system with minimal human intervention to operates.
[004] Therefore, there is an unmet need to find an alternate low-cost robust single acting pneumatic piston cylinder system for IAD and differential lock actuation in hub reduction axle in the automobile to avoid integration of higher numbers of parts or components, which leads towards higher maintenance cost resulting into undesirable machine price with greater amount of assembly time.
[005] The present invention solves the aforementioned and other allied problems by the way of providing a single acting pneumatic piston cylinder system for IAD and differential lock actuation in the automobiles. In this system pneumatic cylinder integrated with differential carrier, wherein bush is used in between piston and differential carrier and function as a cylinder. It is a compact and user-friendly system as cylinder cover is integrated with bearing retainer.
[006] The advantage of the present system is that it is a lightweight system as compared to conventional design due to compactness. In addition, special geometry for swirling of the air based on CFD iterations. Further it is designed for 8 bar working pressure as that of existing, with O ring for sealing.
