Abstract: An apparatus for section rolling machine comprising of: a bottom face (1); a top face (3); a split inner face; a split ring (4); a plurality of rings (5); a cup screw (6); and a plurality of screws; wherein the cup screw (6) is linked by ring by means of screw; the ring (5) is linked with split ring (4) by means of screws; and the spilt ring is linked with top face by means of screws.
FIELD OF INVENTION;
The invention relates to section rolling machine and particularly relates to
Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) in Section Rolling Machine to roll
Flanges, by pass seal Angles and seal Bar with quick change over of rollers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
In coal based Thermal power plants, mechanical power is produced by
combustion of coal. The Boiler system bums the coal, and the thermal energy
generated is used for generating steam from water. The mechanical energy of
steam is converted to the rotational energy of the turbine which in Turn rotates
the generator which generates electricity.
Air Preheater is an important auxiliary equipment in the modem utility,
industrial, & process boilers. It is a heat exchanger to recover the heat energy
from the hot flue gas, which otherwise would have gone unutilized and transfer
the same to the incoming air for further utilization in the boilers / process. Fan
is a type of turbo machinery used for energy transfer. It can be defined as a
rotating machine with a bladed impeller which maintains a continuous flow of
air or gas. It is continuous because the flow at entry and exit and also through
the impeller is steady. Here the energy transfer takes place from the machine to
the flowing fluid.
For fabrication of fan and Air preheater flange and by pass seal angle are used
respectively. To roll the flange & by pass seal angle, we use section rolling
machine. In section rolling machine for rolling the by pass angle the inner face
(2) have to removed from the machine and for rolling the flange the inner face
(2) have to be inserted.
For removing / inserting the inner face (2) in the section rolling machine, the
cup screw (6), ring (5), split ring (4) and top face (3) have to be removed one by
one by using crane. And also, it took more time for changing the die. To
overcome the above problems, we have invented a new method by using new
split inner face (7), in this method usage of crane is eliminated, and also, die
changing time is reduced.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION;
It is therefore, an object of the present invention is to reduce the setup time of
the section rolling Machine.
Another object of the present invention is to enhance the productivity of the
section rolling Process.
Yet another object of the present invention is to enhance the safety of the die
changing process
Further another object of the present invention is to reduce the manpower for
die changing process
Yet another object of the present invention is to eliminate the usage of Crane
for die changing
Still another object of the present invention is to increase the machine life by
avoiding damage to the Center pillar (8) and cup screw (6).
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
According to this invention, there is provided an apparatus for section rolling
machine comprising of a bottom face; a top face; a split inner face; a split ring;
a plurality of rings; a cup screw; and a plurality of screws; wherein the cup
screw is linked by ring by means of screw, the ring is linked with split ring by
means of screws; and the spilt ring is linked with top face by means of screws.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
Section rolling machine used for rolling the flange, by pass seal angle and seal
bar. The section rolling machine consist of three rollers ,out of which two
rollers are movable and another one is fixed one Fig(l). The two rollers can
move to and fro towards the fixed roller. The distance between the inner face (2)
end and top face(3) end is 40 mm.
Each roller consist of a Top Face(3), Bottom Face (1) , Inner face (2), split ring
(4), ring (5), Cup Screw (6) and one center pillar (8) as shown in Fig (2) Fig (a).
For rolling the flange, the job is kept between the fixed roller inner face and
movable roller inner face. Then the flange is rolled. Angles are in different
dimension 75 x 75 mm, 75 x 125 mm and 50 x 120 mm. To prepare the by
pass seal the above angles are used. To roll the angle the horizontal face have
to be placed between the movable roller bottom face (1) and top face (3), the
vertical face have to touch the fixed roller. Then by moving the movable roller
we can roll the by pass seal angle.
For rolling the angle, inner face have to be removed and to roll the flange the
inner face (2) have to be inserted between the bottom face (1) and top face (3).
The process of the changing inner face (2) is called die setting process. For
removing inner face (2) we have to remove all the bolts then Cup screw (6), Ring
(5), Split Ring (4), Top face (3), &Inner face (2) remove one by one with usage of
crane. After removing the inner face(2) then assemble the Top face(3), split ring
(4)' ring(5), cup screw(6) one by one and tighten the bolts. The Centre pillar (g)
in the machine get damaged due to frequent dismantling and assembling of the
cup screw(6), Ring (5), Split ring (4), Top face (3) and Inner face (2) by using
crane. And also, it take more time for die changing. To over come this problem,
we have invented a new split inner face (7) instead of inner face (2).
In the present invention, the Cup screw (6) is linked with Ring (5) by means of
screws. Similarly, Ring (5) is linked with Split ring (4) by means of screws; and
the Split ring (4) is linked with Top face (3) by means of screws. Due to this
linking of all the parts, if we rotate the cup screw (6) in anticlock wise direction
then all the parts linked with cup screw (6) will move up. Gap will increase
between top face (3) and bottom face (1) because of the above movement of the
parts upwards. Then we can change the Split inner face (7) depends upon the
rolling of angle or flange- For tightening the bolts, the cup screw key to be
rotated clockwise direction, due to this all the parts (6,5,4,3) linked with the
cup screw(6) will move downwards and close the gap between Top face (3) and
Bottom face (1). The above changing of Split inner face (7) can be done manually
and there by we can eliminate the usage of crane.
WE CLAIM:
1. An apparatus for section rolling machine comprising of:
a bottom face (1);
a top face (3);
a split inner face;
a split ring (4);
a plurality of rings (5);
a cup screw (6); and
a plurality of screws;
wherein the cup screw (6) is linked by ring by means of screw;
the ring (5) is linked with split ring (4) by means of screws; and
the spilt ring is linked with top face by means of screws.
2. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
said apparatus eliminates usage of crane for die changing.
3. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
said apparatus eliminates the damage to the centre pillar and Cup screw (6) in
the machine.
4. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
said apparatus reduces the cycle time for die changing.
5. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
quality and quantity of rolling of flange and by pass seal angle increased.
6. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
said apparatus reduced man power deployment.
7. The apparatus for section rolling machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
said apparatus reduces human fatigue and improves working environment.
