Sintered Alumina Zirconia Composites And Process For The Preparation Thereof
Abstract: This invention relates to sintered alumina zirconia composites comprising 10 to 30 weight percentage of zirconia. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of microcrystalline alumina zirconia having submicron crystals and superior mechanical properties such as high hardness, high toughness. The alumina zirconia so obtained is suitable for applications such as coated and bonded abrasives especially vitrified applications, metal matrix composites, ware ceramics and the like.
