DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to sliver-can arrangement in textile spinning machines. More particularly, the present invention relates to an improved layout of reserve can arrangement in textile preparatory machines.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The textile spinning preparatory machines like draw frame, combing and carding machines are provided with delivery arrangement in which slivers are filled into sliver-can. The filling sliver can is placed below the coiler arrangement at the delivery area, said coiler is rotated in the vertical axis and sliver filling can rotates in its own axis, such that sliver is filled in the can. After sliver is filled in the can, the full can is to be replaced by empty can which is a known arrangement. Normally, the empty cans are provided as reserve cans behind the filling can along the machine lengthwise direction. In regular linear sliver can changer type for draw frame machine, two reserve cans are placed behind the filling can along machine length in a linear manner as shown in Figure 1.
This above type of draw frame machines has a platform / footstep (11) at the side of the machine frame which allows the worker to view or handle the drafting area (not shown) at the top. The first reserve can (13) is placed behind the filling can (12), under the empty machine space of drafting section and suction section within the machine frame. In addition to first reserve can (13), a second reserve can (14) is placed behind the first reserve can (13) in between the machine frame (15) and sliver feeding cans (16) in a linear fashion. Generally the can diameter size of upto 600mm is used. The lines joining the centres of filling can (12), first reserve can (13) and second reserve can (14) are at substantially straight angle/line
This existing type of reserve can arrangement requires more space for holding reserve cans which increases the length as well as total footprint of the machine.
In this type, reserve cans (13 & 14) are placed in sliver transport path of the machine. The footstep (11) is located sideways. Here the width of the machine is lesser and length of the machine is more since the additional reserve can (14) (especially larger diameter can of more than 600 mm) is placed out of the basic machine layout which is the space for creel arrangement. To reduce the footprint of the machine, the present invention provides solution by altering the reserve can position adjacent to the footstep within the same area.
In the known type of draw frame machines, the filled sliver can is replaced by empty can by known process, in which plurality of reserve cans are placed in queue one behind another. These sliver cans hold floor space of its own size which makes the preparatory machine as longer one.
The forthcoming invention disclosure reduces the footprint of the s textile preparatory machine and area of layout with same number of reserve cans and with foot step for accessing drafting zone by operator.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the present invention is to provide an improved sliver reserve can arrangement which reduces the footprint of the existing spinning preparatory machine.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved layout for textile preparatory machine in a manner which allows the operator to freely access the drafting zone as well as coiling station.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to the invention, in a textile preparatory machine sliver delivery area, the first reserve can is placed behind the filling can in linear manner as usual such that line joining the centre of filling can and centre of first reserve can is substantially parallel to the sliver feeding direction. The second reserve can is placed adjacent to the first reserve can such that the line joining the centre of the first reserve can and centre of second reserve can is substantially perpendicular to the sliver feeding direction. In other words, the line joining the centres of the filling can, first reserve can and second reserve can is at substantially right angles. The second reserve can is accommodated within the machine width formed by filling can and foot rest in a manner such as to reduce the footprint of the draw frame machine. In this improved type of layout, said textile preparatory machine is provided with foot rest on both sides within the machine width. The present invention provides easy access to sliver feeding area, sliver delivery area and drafting area.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to figure 1, according to the known textile preparatory machine of linear can changing type as explained in the background part, the plurality of sliver feeding cans (16) of size upto 600mm are placed behind the machine in creel area. The sliver from each can is transferred to the sliver feed area and then to the drafting area for doubling process for improving mass evenness of the sliver. The output sliver from the drafting area is delivered to the sliver can by coiler arrangement. The coiler arrangement fills the sliver into the sliver can placed below to it. Once the sliver can is filled or reached the predetermined level it has to be replaced. Replacing of sliver can is done by known means. The filled sliver can is replaced by empty (first) reserve can (13) placed behind whereas the second reserve can (14) is placed behind the first reserve can (13) in linear manner. The line joining the centres of filling can (12), first reserve can (13) and second reserve can (14) is substantially parallel to the sliver feeding direction. The suction unit and electrical panel box are arranged under the sliver feeding area which is between sliver feeding can and sliver drafting zone.
Referring to Figure 2 which shows the top view of the textile preparatory machine for example a draw frame can layout according to present invention where 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f, 1g, 1h are the sliver feeding cans of size more than 600 mm. The slivers from each can (1a to 1h) passes through sliver guide to the sliver feed area (2). The suction arrangement (8) and electrical panel box are provided under the sliver feed area (2). The drafting zone is provided above the suction arrangement (8) which is not shown. Subsequently, the fed slivers are passed to sliver delivery area (5). After processing, these slivers are transferred to the sliver filling can (7) through coiling unit (4) or coiler station. The filled sliver can (7) is to be replaced by empty sliver reserve can (7a) which is placed behind the sliver filling can (7). According to the invention, the second reserve can (7b) is placed adjacent to the first reserve can (7a) such that the line joining the centres of the first reserve can (7a) and second reserve can (7b) is substantially perpendicular to the sliver feeding direction. In other words, the line joining the centres of the filling can (7), first reserve can (7a) and second reserve can (7b) is at substantially right angles.
Further, the second reserve can (7b) is accommodated in the space between the foot rest areas (3a & 3b). The foot rest (3b) allows the operator (6) to access the coiling unit (4) for any maintenance work if required. The foot rests (3, 3a) provided at the sides of the suction arrangement (8) acts as space for operators (6) to access sliver feed area (2) which contains the drafting arrangement and/or drives area (not shown). The operator (6) is free to access the drafting arrangement from footrest (3, 3a) for any maintenance work if required.
Advantageously, the textile preparatory machine of linear can changer type is provided with two reserve cans (7a, 7b) with least foot print. The additional reserve can (7b) is placed adjacent to at least one foot step (3, 3a) from which drafting area is accessed without increasing the length or width (W) of the machine. In order to feed the empty can onto the platform, a ramp / pit option (not shown) is provided at the entry point of the sliver can platform. For delivering the filled can (7) out from coiling area (4), another ramp / pit option (not shown) is provided at the delivery point of the platform. The ramps are provided for smooth and trouble-free feeding and delivery of said cans. The feeding and delivering direction of cans are represented by the arrow marks. Since the conventional draw frame machine of linear can changer type consumes more space for the sliver can layout, this invention provides improvement such that, at least a reserve can (7a or 7b) is placed between said footrest (3, 3a) and sliver coiling unit (4). The reserve cans (7a, 7b) are placed adjacent to the footrest (3, 3a). Advantageously, the present invention reduces the space engaged between the first reserve can (7a) and sliver feed cans (1a-1h).
More particularly it reduces the footprint of the textile preparatory machines such as draw frame, comber and carding. In addition, the present invention utilizes the space at the sides of the suction box by providing foot rests (3, 3a) so that operators (6) easily reach sliver feed area (2) or drafting area and/or drives area from both side of the machine. Hence in this type of layout, the textile draw frame machine or the like can accommodate the said foot rests (3,3a,3b) on both sides within the machine width (W). To be specific, present invention reduces the footprint of the preparatory machine by changing sliver reserve can position layout and effectively uses the space around the suction unit as foot rest area. Further, this invention improves the mean time between assistance (MTBA) in the can changing apparatus.
Referring to Figure 3, the linear can changer type draw frame machine with foot rests (3, 3a) arranged at the sides of suction box (8) is depicted. As described above, this arrangement allows the operator to easily access the drafting unit in case of any maintenance.
A further embodiment of the present invention is shown in Figure 4 of the drawings in which the reserve can feed path is provided wherein the said feed path is inclined (shown by arrow) to the sliver traveling direction. Said inclined feed path is located immediate adjacent to the foot rest (3a) and downstream of the foot rest (3b). From the foot rest (3b), the coiling area above the filling can (7) can be accessed by the machine operator. At least a reserve can (7a or 7b) is placed between said foot rests (3a, 3b) and the another foot rest (3) is placed opposite side to access the drafting arrangement and/or drives area. Thus space optimization is achieved.
In view of the present disclosure which describes the present invention, all changes, modifications and variations within the meaning and range of equivalency are considered within the scope and spirit of the invention.
