THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES AND ASCERTAINS THE NATURE OF THIS INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED
BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:-
Most of the gear boxes are synchromesh gear box and they have individual synchronizer to match the speed before changing the gear. The present invention on slot collar type guide is targeted to be used in slot and cross type shifting constant mesh gear box. The slot collar type guider acts like somewhat as in actual synchronizer by matching the speed of next gear.
OBJECT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:-
Object of the present invention aims at developing a Slot collar type guider for smooth shifting in the gear box.
DRAWINGS:-
The invention is described with reference to the figures of the drawing wherein
Figure 1 shows the gear box assembly implemented with slot collar type guider;
Figure 2 shows the perspective view of slot collar type guider according to
invention;
Figure 3 shows graph illustrating gear box noise in baseline gear box v/s
modified Gear box;
Figure 4 shows the graphs illustrating vibration impact in baseline v/s modified
gear box slot collar type guider.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION-
Accordingly invention provides a slot collar type guider for smooth shifting in the gear box to be provided in the gear box engaging the shifting cross for smooth shifting of the said cross from 2nd to 3rd & 3rd to 2nd gear shifting comprises annular ring having collar at inner diameter extending one side having the four or more even number of slots to the said ring and collar
DESCR1PTI0N:-
The invention is of slot collar type guider for constant mesh slot and cross type shifting for smooth shifting in gear box. Referring to figure 1, the slot collar type guide of the invention is used for smooth shifting of cross from 2nd to 3rd gear and 3rd to 2nd gear shifting. No synchronizer is generally used in constant mesh cross shifting gear box. This slot collar type guide works like a synchronizer in transmission. The gear shifting process happens in a particular sequence as from 2nd gear to slot collar type guide and then slot collar type guide to 3rd gear. The slots on slot collar type guide makes the entry and exit smoothly from gears and subsequently gear shifting noise reduces substantially. It improves the sound quality by reducing the number of events. Also instead of four slots, slot collar type guide can be tried with six and eight slots thereon for the smooth shifting and reduction of noise during the shifting process.
The slot collar type guide with uniquely profiled slots imparts easy synchronizing of the gears and it doesn't require any modification or design change in the existing system. Using the slot collar type guide, the synchronization of 3rd gear takes place very easily. The shifting noise which occurs during the 2nd to 3rd gear change is reduced by 3 dB (A).
ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:-
Further the invention of slot collar type guider accomplishes the following advantages.
It can be implemented to any particular gear which may cause noise
during the engagement.
- It's a cost effective solution saving up to 70% of the cost when compared
to the benchmark components available in public domain.
It imparts the weight saving up to 80% when compared to the benchmark solutions available in the public domain
- Simplicity in construction.
- Simplicity in assembly as can be accommodated easily in the existing transmission without any change / modification in the design.
- Simplicity in the serviceability as it can be replaced very easily with less cost of the spare parts.
WE CLAIM:-
1. A slot collar type guider, for smooth shifting of gears to be provided in the gear box, engaging the shifting cross for smooth shifting of the said cross from 2nd to 3rd & 3rd to 2nd gear shifting, comprises annular ring having collar at inner diameter extending one side having the four or more even number of slots at equidistant to the said inner diameter of ring and collar.
2. The slot collar type guider as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said annular ring with collar having six/eight number of slots.
3. An automobile gear box provided a slot collar type guider, as of claimed in claims 1 and 2, for engaging the shifting cross for smooth shifting of 2nd torn 3rd and 3rd to 2nd gear without causing noise.
