Specification

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to segregate and recycle the waste using sensors and IoT.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
This work proposed an automatic waste segregator that can segregate wet, metal plastic and paper. This can be largely implemented in various municipal corporations and places like airport or railway stations, taking into consideration various factors such as reduction in manpower and increase speed of waste management. This invention also introduces several convenience and flexibility related features, by using "Internet of Things" (IoT) processors along with various sensors.
BRIFE DESCR1TION OF THE DRAWINGS:
In this model, we propose a device using Internet Of Things (IOT) using integration of ultrasonic sensor and GPS sensors which continuously monitors the operations done in the bin such as sensing the trash level in the bin, sensing the properties of the trash such as wet, metallic, paper, plastic and it communicates with the municipal office or any other workstation using smart devices through internet. In such a case an emergency security message and the location is sent to the smart phone to alert the concern authorities and nearest municipal office.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
The Automatic Waste Segregator consists of a conveyor belt and various sensors such as moisture sensor, inductive proximity sensor. Waste is kept on the conveyor belt. A PIR proximity sensor detects the entry of the waste and starts the entire system. Waste then keeps moving on the conveyor belt and comes under the range of the first sensor which is the Moisture sensor for wet waste detection. If the waste is not detected as wet waste it goes to the next sensor that is Inductive Proximity sensor for the metal detection. This sensor is used to detect any metal waste in its vicinity. After the detection the trash comes under the succeeding sensor if not detected as metal. This module is a Laser LDR circuit that detects dry waste (plastic and paper). The plastic and paper waste is separated on basis of the intensity of the light passed through them. Once the waste is detected by any of the sensors (stepper motor) the robotic arm moves the trash to the respective bins. In rare cases if the waste is not detected by any of the sensors the (stepper motor) the robotic arm moves the undetected trash to another bin with is kept for the safety purpose so that the segregation process in stopped in any cases. An added advantage to this invention is that if anyone of the bin trash level exceeds the threshold level (80%) it sends the sends the message to the work station that the trash had exceeded the threshold level and yet to be cleaned. If the trash is not cleaned by anyone then a linear actuator (piston) crushes the trash thereby it increases the * volume1 msiae tne-oin^so mat- it'mahage this'-conditTon forSo'rhe tune.

The IoT processor is capable of communicating with the external world vide Wi-Fi 33 /
Bluetooth / 3G / 4G or vide Sensors. The IoT processor monitors and controls all the operations carried in the segregation process and various sensors built in the "SMART BIN AND AUTOMATIC SEGREGATOR" and thereby making the garbage to be "SMART BIN AND AUTOMATIC SEGREGATOR. Certain external devices connected, to the "SMART BIN AND AUTOMATIC SEGREGATOR" can be monitored and controlled by the IoT processor, if these devices can pass their status information to the IoT processor vide WiFi / Bluetooth / 3G / 4G or vide the sensors built in those external devices. By comparing the pre-set parameters with the actual values obtained vide WiFi / Bluetooth / 3G / 4G or from the various internal and external sensors, The lot processor will protect the "SMART BIN AND AUTOMATIC SEGREGATOR" itself and all the sensors, (that pass their status info to the IoT processor).

Claims:
We claim the following:
1) The ability, method and apparatus for sensing and segregating various waste products into wet, metal, plastic and paper respectively, this segregation process is carried out by the various types of sensors such as (a) moisture sensor (b) Inductive proximity sensor (c) LED laser module which detects the various types of waste products. And automatically move this trash to the bin assigned to them.
2) The ability, method and apparatus to detect the wet waste from the trash and this process are carried out by the moisture sensor which detects the moisture content of the trash. When the trash is kept on the sensing region of the sensor, it gives a signal to the microcontroller to check with the range which is given in the code (values between 0-1254) for dry and wet waste respectively. If it comes in the range of wet, then it is identified as wet waste and thus falls into the respective bin which is below the sensor. Otherwise it is moved to the other sensors for further detection.
3) The ability, method and apparatus for sensing the metallic waste. The second sensor is the Inductive Proximity Sensor. This sensor has the ability to detect the metallic waste by which this sensor generates the electromagnetic field which detects the metallic waste thrown into the garbage. Otherwise it is moved to the other sensor.
4) The ability, method and apparatus for sensing the paper (or) plastic waste in the bin. This type of detection is carried out by the LDR laser module. In this module the Laser light is allowed to pass through the trash. When the intensity of light exceeds the threshold level as we set in the Arduino UNO (Microcontroller) it is detected as plastic waste otherwise when the intensity of light does not exceed the threshold it is detected as paper waste. And it is automatically moved to the bins assigned to them.
5) The ability, method and apparatus if the trash is not detected by any of the sensors then the trash is automatically moved to the empty bin. So that the trash does not stagnate in the conveyor belt (path of the trash) as a result the segregation process continues without any disturbance and it also gives the smooth service.
The sensors are placed in the segregator in the following order: Moisture sensor' PIR sensor (motion detecting sensor). Once the trash has been entered into the garbage the sensor gives the start command to the conveyor belt and other sensors to begin the segregation process. Otherwise the conveyor belt and the other sensors remains idle (i.e. only the entry of the trash makes the segregation process Active otherwise the system does not do any operation) so that we can save the power.
MP The ability, method and apparatus the status of the each bins are displayed by the LED light (i.e.
b Red is for completely filled and green is for there is some empty space in the bin) and the LCD displays the information such as capacity of the bin, weight of the bin. So that users can also easily identify the status of the garbage. The location of the garbage is shared to the work place with the help of the GPRS system which is present in the GSM module. So that the concern person can easily locate the garbage.
