Abstract: Smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology includes at least one smart lighting device; control module; a cloud server; at least one electronic computing device which has active internet connection; sensors and wireless communication module. The invention application adjusts the smart lighting device depending on the level of natural light in that particular area.
Claims:We claim:
1) Smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is comprising of:
a. At least one smart lighting device – for communicating and controlling at least one electronic computing device;
b. Control module – connected to lighting device and wireless communication module;
c. A cloud server – perform analysis of received sensor data and sending data to an electronic device;
d. At least one electronic computing device which has active internet connection – connected to wireless communication device, receiving the sensor data, sending an action to perform to the control module;
e. Sensors – configured to sense data and send it to the cloud server; and
f. Wireless communication module- configured to connect at least one smart lighting device and cloud server
2) The method for Smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is comprising the steps of:
a. Connecting Control module to the at least one smart lighting device and wireless communication module;
b. Sensors are installed on at least one smart lighting device;
c. Cloud server receive sensors data with the help of wireless communication module;
d. Data analysis is done at cloud server and analysis data is sent to the at least one electronic device;
e. An electronic device checks data and give related instruction to the control module;
f. Control module received instructions or actions from at an electronic device and perform the actions as per instruction for smart lighting device; and
g. Power of lighting device increase or decrease by control module
3) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein said control module is basically used to control the lighting device such as on, off, increase and decrease it intensity.
4) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein sensors are installed at lighting device and it sense the natural light intensity and send data to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module.
5) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein said sensor data is analysed at cloud server and result data is sent to at least one electronic device.
6) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein said electronic device check data sent by cloud server and give related instruction to the control module.
7) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein Control module perform the actions as per instruction for smart lighting device.
8) The method claimed in claim 2, wherein power of lighting device increases or decrease by control module by control module.
, Description:Field of the invention:
The present invention is related generally to the hospitality estate sector, and more particularly to smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
Background of the invention:
Energy consumption includes all type of energy used to do an action. In hospitality sector, energy is utilizing for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting system. Lighting uses a considerable amount of energy. Lighting releases a large amount of emissions.
In hospitality sector, energy consumption is big as compared to domestic use. Waste of lighting is one of the big problems. Many times, it may happen that light is on and there is no one is surrounding or in other situation there is proper natural light in room or in any area of hotel or restaurant but still light is on. This causes wasting of light energy. To save light energy, it should be off whenever it is not required. But it is not possible to available human being for keeping track of each and every lighting system. There should be a system which process to save light energy automatically and not manually.
There are a system having lighting control related inventions, which are patented, are listed below.
US patent application US9717132B2 by Chaoqun Sun, Jinxiang Shen discloses Intelligent lighting control system and method. An intelligent lighting control system is provided. The system includes at least one smart lighting device, including a control module, a lighting module, a microphone module and a wireless communication module, where the control module is connected to the lighting module, the microphone module, and the wireless communication module, respectively; the microphone module is configured to receive a voice instruction from a user and send the voice instruction to the control module; and the control module is configured to convert the voice instruction to a voice data signal. The system also includes a cloud server configured to perform voice recognition analysis on the voice data signal, convert the voice data signal to a control signal, and send the control signal to at least one smart home device. Further, the system includes the at least one smart home device configured to receive the control signal and perform a corresponding function.
Chinese patent application CN105759625A discloses Internet of Things (IOT) system and method for smart hotel. The invention discloses an Internet of Things (IOT) system for a smart hotel. A mobile client is in wireless signal connection with a hotel PMS customer control system via a cloud server. The hotel PMS customer control system is in wireless signal connection with a room ZigBee intelligence control system. The room ZigBee intelligence control system comprises ZigBee smart hosts distributed all rooms. Each ZigBee smart host is in wireless signal connection with a corresponding room intelligent device. The invention further discloses an IOT method for the smart hotel. A user sends an instruction to the hotel PMS customer control system via the cloud server with the mobile client. The hotel PMS customer control system, according to the instruction, sends a control instruction to the ZigBee smart hosts. The ZigBee smart hosts, according to the received control instruction, wirelessly control the room intelligent devices. The IOT system and method may achieve self-service check-in and remote control of the room intelligent devices.
Though the prior art patent discloses Intelligent lighting control system and method and Internet of Things (IOT) system and method for smart hotel, they do not give any perfect solution for energy saving system for hospitality sector.
Internet of Things (IoT) is basically a network which includes connected devices embedded with software, electronics, sensors, actuators and so on which enables these objects to gather and exchange the data. In simple words, Internet of Things (IoT) describe the system which interrelated, inter-connected objects which are able to collect data and transfer that data over a wireless network without human intervention.
Object of the invention:
The primary object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology where application is used for controlling lighting system of hospitality sector.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where control module would use to control the lighting device such as on, off, increase and decrease its intensity.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where sensors would install at lighting device which would sense the natural light intensity and would send data to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where said sensor data would analyse at cloud server and result data would send to at least one electronic device.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where said electronic device would check data sent by cloud server and would give related instruction to the control module.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where control module would perform the actions as per instruction for smart lighting device.
Another object of the present invention is to provide smart energy saving system in hospitality sector where power of lighting device would increase or decrease by control module by control module.
Summary of the invention:
The present invention discloses smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system for smart energy saving system is comprising of;
At least one smart lighting device – for communicating and controlling at least one electronic computing device;
Control module – connected to lighting device and wireless communication module;
A cloud server – perform analysis of received sensor data and sending data to an electronic device;
At least one electronic computing device which has active internet connection – connected to wireless communication device, receiving the sensor data, sending an action to perform to the control module;
Sensors – configured to sense data and send it to the cloud server; and
Wireless communication module- configured to connect at least one smart lighting device and cloud server
According to the present invention Sensors would install at every lighting device. Control module would connect to lighting device through wireless communication module. Sensor would sense the intensity of natural light at surrounding and would send data to cloud server with the help of wireless communication module. Cloud server would analyse this sensor data and would send analysis data to the electronic device. An electronic device would check data and would give related instruction to the control module. The Control module would receive instructions or actions from an electronic device and would perform the actions as per instruction for smart lighting device. Power of lighting device would increase or decrease by control module as per instruction.

Detailed description of the invention:
The present invention discloses smart energy saving system in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
An Internet of Things (IoT) mainly consists of sensors and device which communicate with the cloud server through some kind of connectivity. When data gets to the cloud, software processes it and will decide to perform any action like sending an alert or automatically adjust the sensors and devices without the need for human intervention.
Fig.1 illustrates the system for smart energy saving in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is comprising of contents;
At least one smart lighting device – for communicating and controlling at least one electronic computing device;
Control module – connected to lighting device and wireless communication module;
A cloud server – perform analysis of received sensor data and sending data to an electronic device;
At least one electronic computing device which has active internet connection – connected to wireless communication device, receiving the sensor data, sending an action to perform to the control module;
Sensors – configured to sense data and send it to the cloud server; and
Wireless communication module- configured to connect at least one smart lighting device and cloud server
Fig. 1 illustrates the system for smart energy saving in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is used for controlling lighting device with respect to natural light intensity. The system of present invention includes sensors which are install to every lighting device; control module which connects to lighting device through wireless communication module. Sensor senses the intensity of natural light at surrounding and then send data to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module. Cloud server analyse this sensor data and sends analysis data to an electronic device. An electronic device checks the analysis data and give related instruction to the control module. The Control module perform the actions on the lighting device as per instructions send by an electronic device. Control module adjust the power of lighting device as per instruction.
Fig. 2 illustrates the method for smart energy saving in hospitality sector by using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is comprising of the steps are as;
Step 1) Control module is connected to the at least one smart lighting device and wireless communication module
Step 2) Sensors are installed on at least one smart lighting device
Step 3) Sensors sense data and send it to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module
Step 4) Cloud server receive sensors data
Step 5) At cloud server, data analysis is done and analysis data is sent to the at least one electronic device
Step 6) An electronic device checks said data and give related instruction to the control module
Step 7) Control module perform the actions as per said instruction for smart lighting device
Step 8) Power of lighting device increase or decrease by control module
The present invention is mainly used to save the power energy by adjusting the intensity of light. When there is sufficient natural light in hotel or in restaurant then there is no need to switch on the lights. Knowingly or unknowingly the power of light remain on which results in waste of energy and also impact as waste on money. To avoid this, the present invention, keep track of natural light at surrounding of lighting device. If there is sufficient natural light then sensor sense it and send data to the cloud server, cloud server analysis this data and send it to the electronic device. At electronic device, this said data is checked and it send instruction to the control device related to the lighting device. This helps in automatic on/off/ changing intensity of lighting device.
There are some advantages of the present invention such as;
Lower energy use – as smart lighting device get off when there is sufficient natural light, the usage of lighting device lower.
It increases life span of lighting device longer.
It is very easy – to – use light customization.
It saves power energy by switching off the lighting device.
The present invention can be better understood with the help of examples.
Example 1:
According to the present invention, the smart lighting device is installed with sensors and attached to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module. In the area which has bright sunny light in it and where smart lighting device is installed and switch on. The sensors from smart lighting device check the level of natural light and send data to the cloud server through the wireless communication device. Cloud server analysis it and send it the electronic device. An electronic device checks it and send instruction of switch off the light to the control module. Control module switch off the smart lighting device to save power energy.
Example 2:
According to the present invention, the smart lighting device is installed with sensors and attached to the cloud server with the help of wireless communication module. In the area which has shadow light in it and where smart lighting device is installed and switch off. The sensors from smart lighting device check the level of natural light and send data to the cloud server through the wireless communication device. Cloud server analysis it and send it the electronic device. An electronic device checks it and send instruction of switch on the light to the control module. Control module switch on the smart lighting device automatically to lighten up the area.
It should be kept in mind that the described embodiment(s) is only presented by way of example and should not be construed as limiting the inventive concept to any particular hardware and software configuration.
The present invention is not limited to components, which is mentioned in the description. Based on the same concept, system for smart energy saving in hospitality sector can be built. Those who are familiar in the art will understand that a number of variations may be made in the disclosed embodiments, all without departing from the scope of the invention, which is defined solely by the appended claims.
