Abstract: Aspects of the invention are directed towards a method and system for a refrigeration unit. The technology described herein provides a method for controlling the parameters of the refrigeration unit. The method comprises the generation of treated ambient air from an evaporative cooling unit 10 and measuring the temperature of the treated ambient air with a temperature measuring device. The measured temperature of the treated ambient air is input to an inverter unit. Further, the inverter unit determines an optimum discharge temperature based on the temperature of the treated ambient air and frequency of the compressor. Furthermore, the system controls a degree of opening & closing of an electronic expansion valve of a refrigeration unit based on the discharge 15 temperature determined by the inverter unit.
