Abstract: The main motive of this invention is to make a normal dustbin smart using ultrasonic sensors for garbage level detection, display and sending messages to the concerned department person updating the status of the bin using GSM modem. In smart garbage monitoring systems, the level of garbage in the dustbins is detected using the help of ultrasonic sensors which is installed at the top of Trash Can and will measure the distance of garbage from the top of the trash can and we can set a threshold value according to the size of trash can implements garbage level detection and sending message/call to the user updating the status of the bin. As soon as the dustbin is full it gives the information to the user through GSM. 5 claims & 1 Figure
Description: Field of Invention
The present invention relates to monitoring the garbage/waste level in the public or home without any human interactions using Internet of Things.
The Objectives of this Invention
The invention's major goal is to make a normal dustbin smart using ultrasonic sensors for garbage level detection, display and sending messages to the concerned department (municipal/corporation) person for updating the status of the bin using GSM modem.
Background of the Invention
In recent years, the management of waste in the bin at city and rural level is a very crucial issue. First, a type of technique has been introduced in (CN2015/105425751A), the waste handling module utilizes a smart dustbin, a modern communications subsystem, a visual surveillance subsystem, and a battery pack; the garbage collection terminal device also includes a compactor, a global navigation satellite subsystem, or first cellular modem; and the tracking center station handset includes a data management subsystem. The sensor unit, location unit, and console unit have been structured in a significant majority of garbage containers in a metropolitan area, each amount of waste can serving as a garbage dashboard, and the wheelie bins throughout the metropolitan area, as well as a garbage review will look, devices on a network, namely its waste handling system, according to (CN2018/109324552B).
In (CN2019/110155572B), Each society user creates an account, which is linked to a waste categorization system that includes a domain controller, a society garbage categorization managerial user, and waste categorization station machinery; the system stores user information and uses each connectivity end to read and understand information. The system (US2013/9927278B2), A sensor gadget for monitoring system of a rubbish bin, comprising one or many sensors for detecting the quantities of garbage and the surroundings inside the waste bin, a computational system for accessing sensor values symptomatic of the volume of garbage as well as the surroundings inside the waste bin, and a communication interface to a remote location.
The (Jayson et al [2018], Conference: Advances in Electronics, Computers and Communications (ICAECC), 1-4) suggested a SmartBin, a bin that really can intelligently separate garbage at the origin without the need for human interaction and warn the garbage collection station whenever the waste is dumped. SmartBin will aid in the solution of the garbage disposal conundrum as well as the creation of a sustainable civilization without sacrificing hygiene and cleanliness. In (US2022/0044208A1), A gadget, mechanism, and method for tracking garbage through one region to another through digital communications.
Summary of the Invention
The garbage monitoring system is a new idea of implementation which makes a normal dustbin smart using ultrasonic sensors which is installed at the top of Trash Can and will measure the distance of garbage from the top of the trash can and we can set a threshold value according to the size of trash can implements garbage level detection and sending message/call to the user updating the status of the bin.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The proposed invention, the level of garbage in the dustbins is detected with the help of sensors. In this invention, the Ultrasonic sensor is used for garbage level detection by using ultrasonic sound waves. GSM module is for communication purpose, message sent to higher officials when the dustbin is filled.
A variable regulated power supply, also called a variable bench power supply, is one where you can continuously adjust the output voltage to your requirements. Varying the output of the power supply is the recommended way to test a project after having double checked parts placement against circuit drawings and the parts placement guide. This type of regulation is ideal for having a simple variable bench power supply. Actually, this is quite important because one of the first projects a hobbyist should undertake is the construction of a variable regulated power supply. Incorporation of a refreshing controller into the LCD, thereby relieving the CPU of the task of refreshing the LCD. In contrast, the LED must be refreshed by the CPU (or in some other way) to keep displaying the data. GSM is a mobile communication modem; it is stands for global system for mobile communication (GSM). The idea of GSM was developed at Bell Laboratories in 1970. It is widely used mobile communication system in the world.
The proposed invention has three important components to manage all the requirements for managing the wastes in the smart cities. Actually, it starts from dustbin/can and ultrasonic sensors is used to measure the wastage level in the dustbin/wastage can. If the level of wastage can is filled then ultrasonic sensors sends the alert message via the controller. From that controller, the message will go to LCD display as well as it sends to cloud server of the corresponding state government. Then automatically alert messages are classified into the district, district officers are sent information to region wise managers. From that, the final alert message has been sent to the service man of the particular area.
