Abstract: The present invention discloses the smart gardening more specifically water supply for plant in a pot using Internet of Things (IoT). The plant pot/container has installed moisture measured sensor, which sense moisture of soil. The sensor send data to Server via Internet of Things with help of Wi-Fi connectivity. User can see information from sensor on smart phone. And as per suggestion of application, further process is carried out by user.

1) The smart gardening using Internet of Things (IoT) comprising of;
a. Any smart electronic computing device – smart shelves gardening application installed on
b. Moisture measuring Sensor – sense moisture measurement and send data to smart phone via Wi-Fi connection
2) The system claimed in claim 1 wherein, number of pots/containers can attach to system by specifying pot id to each and every pot/container.
3) The system claimed in claim1 wherein, the values of pot ID and the moisture level data are acquired by the mobile device via a wireless connection established between the mobile device and a pot pairing circuit.
4) The system claimed in claim 1 wherein, the moisture sensor is positioned at a root of a plant.
, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the method or system for smart gardening, more particularly to an improved and efficient system for watering plants in various types of pots or gardening containers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Gardening is just not adding the beauty to your yard. It has numerous benefits. Gardening is a great form of exercise. Gardening has been proven to reduce obvious weight, stress, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and decrease depression.
The main part of gardening is providing adequate moisture to the plants. Conventional watering tools range from a simple watering can to automated sprinkling systems. Watering is critical to growing plans in private gardens, as well as at the commercial gardens or farms. However, providing correct volumes of water to the plants is even more critical. While too little water results in drying and perishing of the plants, too much moisture can result in rotten plant roots, which results in perished or poorly grown plants as well. Therefore, measuring and monitoring of the Soil.
As life of every person is so busy, it may happen sometimes person forget to nourish and water the plants in garden, which affect the plants. There is no such system, which will remind person about watering and nourishing time of plants in garden.
As technology becomes the part of our day-to-day life, the present invention solves the above problem with the help of internet of things (IoT). The present invention discloses the method or system of smart gardening using internet of things.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and so on which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. The concept of IoT has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT is Smart Gardening. As the name suggest, it transform gardening to smart gardening by alerting, more specifically, sending SMS to owner about health of plant after periodically time interval.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is that, the smart gardening using internet of things.
Another object of the invention is that, send alert/SMS to owner related health of plants and need of nutrients.
Another object of the invention is that, reminder for water timing.
Other object of the invention is that, reminder for nourishment to plant.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system or method for smart gardening using Internet of Things (IoT) for improved and efficient watering of the plans in various types of pots or containers. The pot or container which has plant in it, has moisture measuring sensor. This sensor connected to smart phone using Internet of things (IoT). It sends sense data to smart phone. And show alert/SMS to owner for need of water.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS –
Fig 1 shows flowchart of the method and computer program for this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system or method for smart gardening by using Internet of Things (IoT).
Internet of Things (IoT) has many applications depending on the physical devices that are connected and one of the most remarkable applications of IoT is Smart gardening. Smart gardening that have been made capable of alerting/sending SMS to owner regarding water time for plants.
The smart gardening using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of: any smart electronic computing device – storing data from sensors; moisture measuring sensor – sense moisture measurement and send data to smart electronic device; Wi-Fi modem – for connectivity between sensor and electronic device.
The smart gardening using Internet of Things (IoT) can work as following:
Step 1) The smart gardening application are installed to smart electronic device such as smart phone.
Step 2) The moisture measuring sensor is installed to the plant pot/container.
Step 3) Through Wi-Fi modem, connectivity is maintained between smart device and plant pot/container.
Step 4) With regular interval of time sensor sense data from plant and sent to smart device using IoT with help of Wi-Fi modem.
Step 5) on smart device owner/user can see status of plant.
Step 6) As per suggestion of application user give sufficient water to plant. This is the basic model of Smart gardening. And scope of smart gardening is not limited to this only.
The smart gardening application show the user two important values related to plants. On screen of smart phone, user/owner can see the required moisture value of plant in the pot and recorded moisture value of plant in the pot.
So as per requirement user/owner provide water supply to plant in the pot or container.
A system comprises a moisture measuring sensor integrated into a pot/ container. A gardener can read moisture-related data using a mobile device, a computer or a tablet. The gardener can send the moisture level related data to a central server connected to a gardening database and receive gardening recommendations to the gardener's mobile device. The gardening recommendations are not limited to watering only. They can include other recommendations pertaining to a particular plant and gardening conditions.
