Specification

The present disclosure relates, in general, to health tracking device,
and more specifically, relates to a device for maintaining physical distance in public places.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The public gathering may require the presence of people in large
numbers. However, in situations involving high-risk scenarios such as coronavirus (COVID) pandemic, there may be high chances of everyone coming in close contact with another person and it becomes highly significant to limit virus exposure by avoiding any interaction between two persons in any social gatherings or public places.
[0003] COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact
within about 6 feet for a prolonged period. The risk of exposure to a virus posed to uninfected people from an infected person either by direct contact or action such as sneezing, coughing, and the like or through contact of any surface touched by the infected person. Recent studies indicate that people who are infected by this virus but do not have symptoms also play a role in the spread of COVID-19. Since interaction and gathering among people can spread the virus, it is important to stay at least 6 feet away from others when possible.
[0004] Social distancing is especially important for people who are at higher
risk for severe illness from COVID-19. It is important to stay home and away from other people until it is safe to be around others during situations involving pandemic. India ranks 57th in a list of 195 countries in terms of how prepared a country is for a pandemic. As we are not well equipped to handle a health crisis of this proportion. Social distancing can minimize the risk of contracting infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
[0005] Therefore, there is a need in the art to provide a means that can locate
infected people and can notify user to maintain physical distance between proximate users.

[0029] The present disclosure relates, in general, to health tracking device,
and more specifically, relates to a device for maintaining physical distance in public
places. The present disclosure can be described in enabling detail in the following
examples, which may represent more than one embodiment of the present
disclosure.
[0030] FIG. 1A illustrate an exemplary representation of a system for
maintaining social distancing, in accordance with an embodiment of the present
disclosure.
[0031] Referring to FIG. 1A, system 100 configured to indicate health
attributes of users to maintain physical distance between the one or more proximate
users in a region of interest to minimize the risk of contracting infectious diseases
such as COVID-19. The region of interest may include a closed space such as
buildings, malls, workspace and the likes. System 100 can include a tracking device
102 (also referred to as device 102, herein) that can include a sensor 106, a
microchip 108, an alert unit 110, a transceiver 112, and a processor 114 (as
described and illustrated in FIG. IB).
[0032] In an exemplary embodiment, the devices (102-1 to 102-n (which are
collectively referred to as device 102, herein) may be worn or carried by users (104-
1 to 104-n (which are collectively referred to as users 104, hereinafter). The device

102 may be an electronic device, smartwatch, wristband, mobile phone and the
likes. The device 102 may be worn or carried by the user 104 or one or more
proximate users (also referred to as proximate users, herein) to indicate health
attributes of the proximate users to facilitate physical distancing between the users
104 for minimizing the risk of contracting infectious diseases.
[0033] FIG. IB illustrate an exemplary functional component of device, in
accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The device 102 as illustrated in FIG. IB can include sensor 106 that is configured to detect position coordinates of proximate users in a predefined area i.e., closed space such as buildings, malls, workspace and the likes. In an exemplary embodiment, sensor 106 can be an indoor positioning system (IPS) module. Indoor positioning systems (IPS) are used to determine the position of computing devices such as mobile devices, smartphones and the likes inside the closed space e.g., a building, where a global positioning system (GPS) cannot be used.
[0034] IPSs normally use wi-fi and global system for mobile communications
(GSM) antennas as reference points instead of GPS satellites. They are also known as indoor navigation systems. GPS systems require a clear view of the sky to contact GPS satellites and cannot be used in the closed space. Many other techniques have been developed to determine the position (location) of the devices inside the building. Almost all these systems use beacons as reference points and calculate the device position using a multilateration algorithm or a fingerprint technique, where multilateration is a technique that estimates the location of wireless emitters, and the target position is determined by the time difference between signals arriving at multiple base stations. The fingerprinting algorithm is a procedure that maps an arbitrarily large data item to a much shorter bit string, its fingerprint, that uniquely identifies the original data for all practical purposes.
[0035] For example, device 102 associated with the first user can receive the
position coordinates of one or more proximate users within the pre-defined area. The device 102 communicates with other computing devices associated with the proximate users through a communication interface, where the computing devices may be mobile phone, smartphone, smartwatch and the likes.

[0036] In an embodiment, device 102 of the user 104 communicates with
other computing devices associated with the proximate users using any suitable communication interface such as wired or wireless communication. The device 102 can include the transceiver 112 that can enable communication with computing devices associated with one or more proximate users. In an exemplary embodiment, the transceiver 112 is a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) transceiver 112. The transceiver 112 enables communication of the position coordinates between the users 104.
[0037] The BLE transceiver 112 allows developing device 102 to compute
the distances between two computing devices. The process includes scanning for nearby BLE devices i.e., computing devices that support BLE to get estimated distance between the devices associated with proximate users using the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and extended Kalman filter (EKF) value. Connect to BLE devices and compute the distance between the devices. It can connect to multiple devices as shown in FIG. 1 A.
[0038] In another embodiment, a suitable message is sent using natural
language processing (NLP) technology and further advice can be generated as per the tracking record of the user carrying the device 102. The processor 114 operatively coupled to a learning engine 122, the learning engine 122 trained to predict the probability of infection. The learning engine 122 may be a machine learning algorithm. For example, with the use of the RSSI and EKF value, the distance between devices less than 6 feet is determined and a suitable message can be conveyed using NLP technology and further advice can be generated as per the tracking record of the user associated with the device.
[0039] In another embodiment, microchip 108 configured to determine the
identity attributes of the proximate users. The identity attributes can include any or a combination of Adhaar number (also referred to as identification information) and vaccination information of the users 104. The microchip 108 saves the Adhaar number of the users 104 in the server 118. For example, if the first person is approaching near to a second person, Adhaar number and COVID vaccination information can be accessed from server 118 (also referred to as a memory device

118, herein). If the person is vaccinated alarm signal is not generated. But if the approaching person is not vaccinated then device 102 can start generating warning signal if the distance is decreasing from 10 feet to 6 feet.
[0040] In another embodiment, the alert unit 110 configured in the device
102, the alert unit 110 configured to facilitate safe physical distancing between the proximate users by providing alert signal of the health attributes of the proximate users. The alert unit 110 can notify the user when the proximate users are within the pre-defined distance value, for example, if the distance is decreasing from 10 feet to 6 feet. The alert is a combination of acoustic signals that pertain to a pre¬defined message to alert the users to maintain physical distance from the proximate users.
[0041] In an implementation, the processor 114 can be operatively coupled to
the sensor 106, the microchip 108, the transceiver 112 and the alert unit 110, the processor 114 operatively coupled to a memory 116, the memory 116 storing instructions executable by the processor 114 to receive, from the sensor 106, the position coordinates of the proximate users in the predefined area. The processor 114 configured to receive, from the microchip 108, the identity attributes of the proximate users. The processor 114 configured to extract a set of distance values of the proximate users from the position coordinates.
[0042] Based on a comparison of identity attributes of proximate users and a
deviation of the extracted set of distance values for the position coordinates from a reference set of values, the transceiver 112 is configured to transmit the alert to notify the user to maintain physical distance, the alert pertaining to any or a combination of location, health attributes, and identity attributes of the one or more proximate users. The reference set of values can include pre-defined distance value e.g., 10 feet, 6 feet and the likes.
[0043] The system 100 can include the memory device 118 operatively
coupled to the processor 114, the memory device 118 configured to store a log of operations of the system, the log of operations comprising any or a combination of identity attributes, position coordinates, the set of distance values, reference set of values and the determined health attributes of the users. The memory device 118 is

a server. The device 102 can be operatively coupled to the server 118 for managing identity attributes of the user 104 to maintain safe physical distancing between the users 104. For example, the device 102 worn by the first user receives the health attributes of the proximate users in the closed space to facilitate safe physical distancing between the users 104 to limit the spread of infectious diseases e.g., coronavirus.
[0044] The computing device may include processor 114 that can be in
communication with each of a memory, and input/output units. The processor 114 may include a microprocessor or other devices capable of being programmed or configured to perform computations and instruction processing in accordance with the disclosure. Such other devices may include microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSP), complex programmable logic device (CPLD), field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), application-specific assimilated circuits (ASIC), discrete gate logic, and/or other assimilated circuits, hardware or firmware in lieu of or in addition to a microprocessor.
[0045] The memory 116 can include programmable software instructions that
are executed by the processor. The processor 114 may be embodied as a single processor or a number of processors. The processor and a memory may each be, for example located entirely within a single computer or other computing device. The memory, which enables storage of data and programs, may include random-access memory (RAM), read-only memory (ROM), flash memory and any other form of readable and writable storage medium.
[0046] The embodiments of the present disclosure described above provide
several advantages. The one or more of the embodiments provides device 102 that facilitates safe physical distancing between the users for limiting the spread of infectious disease. The device 102 notifies the users automatically when an infected person comes in contact with the user. The present disclosure saves time and reduced manual effort for announcements, notices and charts on social distancing. The device 102 reduces the overall cost to fix banners for display and can be user-friendly.

[0047] FIG. 2 illustrate an exemplary flow chart of a method for maintaining
social distancing, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
