Abstract: The Vehicle tracking system is a total security protection and fleet management solution. By using the latest GSM & GPS technology to protect and monitor our car, truck and any other moveable object virtually anywhere and then locate it within a few meters. This project presents an automatic Smart vehicle tracking and accident detection system using GPS and GSM modems which can detect the accident when ever any vehicle or object collides with the vehicle. The system can be mounted with the control system of the car and aware the owner about the location of accident on his PC using GPS and GSM. The system gives the location of the vehicle upon sending a message in case it has been theft. This system also provides an accident prevention using sensors which upon detection of any obstacle can reduce the speed of the vehicle and prevent the accident. The proposed design demonstrates the feasibility of real time tracking of vehicles and enhanced customizability, global accessibility and economical in contrast with exising designs.
TECHNICAL FIELD OF INVENTION
This smart vehicle tracking and accident detection system using GPS and GSM modems provides an accident

accident and save the human life.
BACKGROUND AND PROBLEM WITH EXISTING ART
The rapid growth of technology has made our day-to-day lives easier. The technology has also increased the traffic hazards and accidents that occur in road side frequently as a result of which huge loss of life and property occurs. The aim of the project is to create a smart accident detection system using that detects the occurrence of an accident and sends a message to the traffic control authorities or emergency help centers in case of an accident so that immediate help can be provided. In this invention a unique smart vehicle tracking and accident detection system is developed and helps to recognize the location of the accident and to find the location of the accident. The system can be mounted with the control system of the car and aware the owner about the location of accident on his PC using GPS and GSM. The system gives the location of the vehicle upon sending a message in case it has been theft. This system also provides an accident prevention using sensors which upon detection of any obstacle can reduce the speed of the vehicle and prevent the accident. It include an accelerometer for the detection of dangerous driving and can be used in a car alarm application the signals from an ultrasonic sensor a severe accident due to an obstacle can be identified. If any accident occurs the accelerometer and ultrasonic sensor senses the signal and sends immediately to the Raspberrypi3B. It sends the alert message to police control room through the GSM module including the location of the accident zone of police control room rescue team (or) to the hospitals. The Smart Vehicle Tracking and Accident Detection system detects the occurrence of an accident and sends a message to the traffic control authorities or emergency help centers in case of an accident so that immediate help can be provided. It also enables real-time tracking of vehicle's location via SMS. The system has a switch to enable driver to stop alert system in case of false alarms. This system acts as a black box to vehicles. The vehicle's location can be viewed using Google maps which are much more easier than location in terms of latitude and longitude. All other components like the ultrasonic sensor, accelerometer and GPS and GSM modules are connected via Raspberrypi 3B board. The code for the working of this system is written in C. The LCD screen displays short messages to keep track of the working of the system. Accelerometer is used to detect crash or rollover of the vehicle and sends signals when an accident occurs to the microcontroller.
