In the present invention when the next button on the remote (6) is pressed, motor (7a) will rotate in clockwise direction; if the previous button is pressed motor (7b) will rotate in anticlockwise direction; the motors (7a, 7b) can be controlled individually using left, right arrow buttons and stop button is used to stop the rotation.
The present invention relates to a smart washing machine. More particularly, a remote or mobile controlled smartwashing machine.
Background of the Invention
Washing machine is an important household need. Smart technology often allows you to start and stop your appliances from your remote. In an ordinary semi-automatic washing machine timer switch and drain switch could damaged with the time. Also, the person has to be present near the washing machine to control its functioning.
WO1997010376A1 discloses a smart laundry system including a tag communicating device for reading laundering instructions and water processing information contained in an electronic tag (22) attached to a material item (20) while the material item (20) is within a laundry machine. A controller controls the laundry machine in accordance with the laundering instructions. A water processing system processes waste water produced by the laundry machine in accordance with the water processing information to form gray water for use in a subsequent wash. The electronic tag (22) maintains a count of the number of launderings of the material item (20). An automatic folding and sorting machine (30) folds and sorts the material item (20) based upon folding and sorting instructions stored on the electronic tag (22). A tag programming device (24) is used to identify, locate, query, and program the electronic tag (22).
US5156025A discloses a control apparatus for a laundry washing and/or drying machine which is adapted to identify the type of fabrics to be laundered or dried and to automatically select the most suitable program cycle for the laundering or drying of the laundry. The apparatus includes a digital counter (10) and a discharge element (2) connected in parallel to sensors (5, 6) for measuring the electrostatic charge of the laundry produced during rotation of the drum. The discharge element produces a sudden discharge of the electrostatic charge accumulated in the course of different periods of time, the lengths of which depend on the type of fabrics to be laundered or dried. The apparatus also includes a digital comparator (12) which compares the number of clock signals counted by the digital counter (10) between discharge operations of the discharge element (2) to predetermined voltage levels, for controlling, by way of respective logic AND gates (13, 14), the execution of the most suitable program cycle for the laundering or drying of any fabric thus identified.

The present invention discloses a smart washing machine that can be controlled through a remote or with a mobile from anywhere.
In describing the preferred embodiment of the present invention, reference will be made herein to like numerals refer to like features of the invention.
Arduino UNO: Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on 8-bit ATmega328P microcontroller. Along with ATmega328P, it consists other components such as crystal oscillator, serial communication, voltage regulator, etc. to support the microcontroller.
Relay module: The relay module is an electrically operated switch that can be turned on or off deciding to let current flow through or not, and can be controlled with low voltages, like the 5V provided by the Arduino pins. Controlling a relay module with the Arduino is as simple as controlling any other output as we’ll see later on.
Its basic function is to allow a low power control voltage operate a high-power switch. The control and the switch are electrically isolated from each other and they have their own voltage and current ratings/requirements.
IR Receiver: An infrared receiver, or IR receiver, is a hardware that sends information from an infrared remote control to another device by receiving and decoding signals. In general, the receiver outputs a code to uniquely identify the infrared signal that it receives. IR Receiver are commonly used to control electronic devices wirelessly, mainly through a remote. TV remotes and AC remotes are the best example of IR transmitters.
Jumper Wire: Jumper wires are used to connect two points in a circuit. These wires are frequently used with breadboards and other prototyping tools in order to make it easy to change a circuit as needed. Male jumpers are designed to plug securely into the holes in a breadboard. Female jumpers are useful for connecting male header posts and pin terminals on components. Jumper wires are used for making connections between items on the breadboard and the Arduino's header pins.
According to preferred embodiment of the present invention, the smart washing machine (8) comprises of arduino UNO (1), relay module (2), IR receiver (3), jumper wires (4) provides a contactless switch including a sensor (5) that is capable to control all functions of a washing machine (8).
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the no-touch switch
(9) entirely works on hand gestures. The smart contactless switch (9) includes a sensor (5) that is capable of detecting hand movements and translates them into commands for controlling lights, fans and various home appliances.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, the arduino (1) decodes the IR remote signals and controls DC motors (7a, 7b) depending on the pressing of the button. Five buttons are used on the remote (6); when the next button on the remote (6) is pressed, motors (7a) will rotate in clockwise direction. And if the previous button is pressed motors (7b) will rotate in anticlockwise direction. These two motors ((7a, 7b) can be controlled individually using left, right arrow buttons and stop button can be used to stop the rotation.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, as depicted in Figure 1, a no-touch switch (9) works entirely on IR based remote (6). The smart contactless switch (9) includes a sensor (5) that is capable to control all functions of a washing machine (8). The IR receiver (3) controls the motion of machine motor (7a, 7b) with the help of remote(6); the arduino (1) is used for controlling and programming purpose; the IR receiver, receives signal from remote (6) and send them to the arduino board (1) and it operate the washing machine (8) through relay module (2).
According to another embodiment, the present invention can operate the electric motor of Washing machine (8) without touching switch so to keep safe people in covid19 or any same/similar situation and keep safe with electric shock, it can be used at public areas, for example vending machine parking system or sanitary areas and in smart home automation.
Although a preferred embodiment of the invention has been illustrated and described, it will at once be apparent to those skilled in the art that the invention includes advantages and features over and beyond the specific illustrated construction. Accordingly it is intended that the scope of the invention be limited solely by the scope of the hereinafter appended claims, and not by the foregoing specification, when interpreted in light of the relevant prior art.
