, Description:Technical field of the Invention
The present invention generally relates to a teaching application, and, more particularly, to a method and system for teaching the specially-abled students in an easy manner for them to understand.
Background and prior art
Teaching is a noble profession but to teach a specially-abled child, a special educator is required. In India, the development of educational programs for the specially-abled children are gaining momentum with the help of the government. According to the census report of 2001, there are over 21 million people in India who are living with one or the other kind of disability. In order to teach the 21 million specially-abled people, there is a requirement of large number of special educators who are willing to spend their time with the specially-abled people. There are a number of schools and institutions work with specially-abled children to make them self-reliant for an inclusive society, as these children cannot cope with the regular school curriculum, at least not without the intervention of a special educator.
In a typical classroom where all kinds of students study together, there might also be few specially-abled children present in it, who needs special care are they cannot cope up with the pace of the other fellow students. It has been felt that the specially-abled children need special arrangements in the environment for their mobility and independent functioning, which has led to origin of various schools and centers for taking care of the specially-abled children.
As many schools are not very adaptive in teaching the specially-abled children, they are forced to be admitted in the schools meant for the specially-abled. Such children need more attention and different ways of teaching which cannot be mixed up with course of other students. In this competitive world, with the children competing with each other, the teachers who are teaching the students will not be able to dedicate enough time for specially-abled children as they are slow learners. In the same context, mobile phones can be efficiently used for teaching the specially-abled children.

Objectives of the invention
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a system for teaching the specially-abled children in school.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a system for teaching the specially-abled children using a software application with artificial intelligence, and a virtual assistant.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a system for teaching the specially-abled children which uses the virtual assistant where the input can be provided through audio which is recognized by the application and the audio output containing answer to the query is delivered to the user.

Summary of the invention
The present invention discloses a system and method for teaching the specially-abled children. The components of the present invention includes an electronic device with an active internet connection or a Wi-Fi connection, a software application having features including virtual assistant feature, voice recognition feature and a database.
The present invention discloses a system and method for teaching the specially-abled children, where the electronic device such as the mobile phone, laptop, tablet etc., is installed with the software application with the help of the internet or Wi-Fi. The software application is linked directly to a database which contains the data which the specially-abled children has to be taught. With the help of the present invention, an institute, organization, a school or even a teacher who is willing to teach the specially abled children can create a database of the content which the children has to be taught and the database is linked to the software application. The teacher who is teaching the specially-abled children inputs the query to the software application, and the software application recognizes the words of the teacher through the voice recognition feature and provides an output in audio, image or video form to the teacher, which can be used to teach the students.
According to the present invention, the method involved in teaching specially-abled children comprises of installation of the software application in the electronic device using the internet connection or Wi-Fi connection; registering the user with the software application to create user ID and password for account creation; creating a personalized database containing the content which is to be taught to the specially-abled children; providing audio input to the software application; recognition of the words or sentences by the voice recognition software; conversion of the audio input to text form and conducting search to retrieve solution to the provided input query by the software application; providing an audio output by the virtual assistant feature of the software application which can be heard loudly by the teacher and the special-abled children, which they can learn. Additionally, the present invention also provides output in image or video format which the specially-abled children can learn from visualization.

FIG 1 illustrates the flowchart illustrating the method employed for teaching the specially-abled children through the software application.

Detailed description of the invention
The present invention discloses a system and method for teaching the specially-abled children. The components of the present invention includes an electronic device with an active internet connection or a Wi-Fi connection, a software application having features including virtual assistant feature, voice recognition feature and a database.
The present invention discloses a system and method for teaching the specially-abled children, which can be carried out with the help of any kind of electronic device including a mobile phone, laptop, tablet etc.,. The electronic device is installed with the software application with the help of the internet or Wi-Fi. The user who can be a school, an institution, any individual or a teacher can gain access to the software application, and can continue teaching the specially-abled children with more ease and efficiency.
The software application of the present invention is linked directly to a database which can be created and personalized with the data which the specially-abled children has to be taught. Initially, the user can feed the data such as alphabets, numbers, relations, animals, flowers, vegetables etc., which the specially-abled children might need to use in day-to-day life. The images and the spellings of the same can be fed in the database, which can be both heard and seen by the specially-abled children. With the help of the present invention, an institute, organization, a school or even a teacher who is willing to teach the specially abled children can create a database of the content which the children has to be taught and the database is linked to the software application.
FIG 1 illustrates the flowchart illustrating the method employed for teaching the specially-abled children through the software application. Referring to FIG 1, the method involved in teaching the specially-abled children comprises of installation of the software application in the electronic device using the internet connection or Wi-Fi connection; registration of the user with the software application to create user ID and password for account creation; creating a personalized database containing the content which is to be taught to the specially-abled children; providing audio input to the software application; recognition of the words or sentences by the voice recognition software; conversion of the audio input to text form and conducting search to retrieve solution to the provided input query by the software application; providing an output in the form of either audio, an image or a video by the virtual assistant feature of the software application which can be heard and seen by the teacher and the special-abled children, which they can grasp easily.
The specially-abled children can contain a group of visually challenged children, children with hearing impairment, mental and physical disabilities etc., who cannot read and write on their own. Such children need readers, to read them what they are learning. The availability of the electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, computer with screen reading, scanners, projectors etc., in the schools and institutes, the would enrich the educational experiences of differently-abled children.
The present invention uses voice recognition software which can recognize the voice of the user, which are then converted to text form. The primary advantage of using the voice recognition feature is that the input which is received by the software application, is immediately processed and the output is provided in the form an audio which can be heard by the user through the virtual assistant which has a greater accuracy around context and content. Also the output can be visualized in the form of an image or a video where the specially-abled children can see the images and remember them better. The voice recognition feature in enhanced by the artificial intelligence behind it, which makes the feature to operate better in handling and recognizing different inputs to provide an accurate output in less time.
According to the present invention, the electronic devices such as laptops and mobile phones have easy access to internet, and irrespective of time and place, one can use them for carrying out any task at any time. The software application of the present invention can be used to teach basic lessons to the specially-abled children, which can a part of their curriculum. As the words, spellings and pronunciations are perfect and easily readable through the software application, the specially-abled children can listen, see and learn in a faster pace.
Additionally, with the help of the present invention, a school, institute or a teacher can create a specialized database with a unique curriculum for each student based on the individual disability of the children, and the teachers teach them sign language, motor skills or likewise using play methods and audio visual materials
There are several benefits of the present invention which includes:
a. Easy and interactive way of learning for the specially-abled children;
b. Can provide more time to each student with the help of technology.
c. Can be accessed by any person at time.
As the needs of the specially-abled children in a school are varied and teachers will also keep a track of them by understanding special needs, the teachers will have to understand the special needs of children to not only educate them but also to understand them and what they want to do in their lives. With the help of the software application, the teachers can interact with the children in directing them and preparing them to what they want to become in the future.
The present invention aims at helping in solving or betterment of the problems which are faced by the specially-abled children which can include poor auditory memory—both short term and long term, a low tolerance level and a high frustration level, a weak or poor self-esteem, easily distractible, no control on emotions, easily confused, verbally demanding, difficulty in working with others in small or large group settings, difficulty in following complicated directions or remembering directions for extended periods of time, coordination problems, poor handwriting skills, a poor concept of time, and many more.
