Abstract: Present invention refers to energy storage and release device made of cold drawn steel wire for ejection of aerodynamically shaped Airfoil enclosure that houses various electronic modules, having a deflection of 60mm to 65mm.
Present invention refers to energy storage and release device made of cold drawn steel
wire for ejection of aerodynamically shaped Airfoil enclosure that houses various
electronic modules, having a deflection of 60mm to65mm.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Aerodynamically shaped airfoil enclosure is mounted on Release system by means of
mechanical springs, having spring constant of 1.47N/mm. Spring is compressed &
considerable amount of energy is stored in the spring during mounting of airfoil
enclosure (weight ≤10 Kg.). Spring in conjunction with gas Pressure Cartridge ejects the
system (here airfoil enclosure).
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention the material of present invention is
cold drawn steel Grade 4.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention, it has spring index of 12.
In accordance with third aspect of present invention, it has a wire diameter of 03mm.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention, it has a Mean Coil diameter of
36mm.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention, it has 12 nos. of working
coils.
In accordance with one more aspect of present invention, it has free length of 109mm.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Present invention refers to energy storage and release device made of cold drawn steel
wire for ejection of aerodynamically shaped Airfoil enclosure (weight ≤10 Kg.) that
houses various electronic modules, having a deflection of 60mm to65mm.
The spring (101) 03 nos. is mounted on Spring Locator (102) 03 nos.which is then
fastened on to the base plate (103) by using St.Steel Screws (104). Considerable
amount of energy is stored in during installation of airfoil enclosure on to the springs.
SPECIFICATION:
• Material: cold drawn steel Grade 4
• Spring Index = 12
• Wire diameter (d) = 3 mm(calculated above)
• Mean coil diameter (DM) = 36 mm (C= D/d)
• No. of working coils = 12 (calculated above)
• Free Length = 109mm
• FOS = 3 (Maximum Permissible Stress/Working Stress) =
(990/329.76)
