CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[001] The present application claims priority from an Indian Provisional Application 201941054544 filed on 30th December 2019.
TECHNICAL FIELD
[002] The present invention relates to milling cutter and more particularly relates to a special milling cutter for Tungsten Carbide turning insert.
BACKGROUND
[003] Tungsten Carbide ISO Turning Insert CNMG 190612 is widely used for general external turning and boring applications in metal cutting industries using tools like PCLNR/L. The insert CNMG is rhombic in shape and has 8 cutting edges including both sides. Insert’s 80 Degree corner is being used for general turning and facing application while Insert’s 100 Degree corner can be used only for Straight turning applications using tool holder PCBNR/L. There is an acute shortage of Tungsten Carbide (WC) all over the world, accordingly prices of Tungsten Carbide Inserts and related Tools are spiraling every year. In this context, it is inevitable to explore the ways to use all the corners of CNMG Inserts including 100 Deg. Corner before forwarding Insert for recycling.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[004] The main object of the present invention is to utilize the 4 unused 100 degree corners of the CNMG 190612 insert.
[005] Another object of the present disclosure is to develop milling cutter to suit CNMG Insert.
[006] Yet another object of the present disclosure is complete utilization of CNMG Insert to reduce Tungsten Carbide consumption.
SUMMARY
[007] Before the present system and method are described, it is to be understood that this application is not limited to the particular machine or an apparatus, and methodologies described, as there can be multiple possible embodiments that are not expressly illustrated in the present disclosures. It is also to be understood that the terminology used in the description is for the purpose of describing the particular versions or embodiments only and is not intended to limit the scope of the present application. This summary is provided to introduce aspects related to a milling cutter, and the aspects are further elaborated below in the detailed description. This summary is not intended to identify essential features of the proposed subject matter nor is it intended for use in determining or limiting the scope of the proposed subject matter.
[008] In one embodiment, a special milling cutter is developed. The milling cutters are designed for 100 degree corners of CNMG 190612 Turning Inserts for rough milling applications. The milling cutter has cutter size of Ø160 and Ø200mm. The disclosed milling cutter may be used for Duplex milling machines, Facing and Centering machines, Vertical milling FN3V machines, Cooper planning machine and BOMA Link milling machines.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[009] The foregoing summary, as well as the following detailed description of embodiments, is better understood when read in conjunction with the appended drawing. For the purpose of illustrating the disclosure, there is shown in the present document example constructions of the disclosure, however, the disclosure is not limited to the specific methods and apparatus disclosed in the document and the drawing:
[0010] The detailed description is described with reference to the accompanying figure. In the figure, the left-most digit(s) of a reference number identifies the figure in which the reference number first appears. The same numbers are used throughout the drawing to refer like features and components.
[0011] Figure 1 illustrates schematic for a milling cutter in accordance to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0012] Figure 2 illustrates a CNMG 190612 insert to be attached to the milling cutter.

However, one of ordinary skill in the art will readily recognize that the present disclosure is not intended to be limited to the embodiments illustrated but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the principles and features described herein.
[0017] Referring to Figure 1 shows special milling cutter. The disclosed cutter is developed for 4 unused corners of CNMG 190612 turning inserts (1) for rough milling applications. After utilizing the 80 degree corner of CNMG insert in turning / boring applications, 100 degree corner of CNMG insert was used for straight turning application using tool holder PCBNL/R. The milling cutter is developed to suit insert CNMG 190612 (1) for make use of insert's 100 degree corner for rough milling application. The milling cutter consists of plurality of various insert pockets. The milling cutter consists of top Clamps (3) for clamping the CNMG 190612 turning insert (1) on each insert pocket and clamp screws (5) to fix the CNMG 190612 turning insert (1) in each insert pocket. Hence the maximum utilization of CNMG insert and Tungsten Carbide is ensured. This milling cutter is tried on duplex milling, facing and centering, vertical milling FN3V, cooper planning machine and BOMA link milling machines.
[0018] Further, one embodiment of the invention may be used for designing of special Milling cutter.
[0019] Exemplary embodiments discussed above may provide certain advantages. Though not required to practice aspects of the disclosure, these advantages may include those provided by the following features.
[0020] Some object of the present invention enables use of 4 unused 100 degree corners of insert for rough milling application.
